  1. In the first statewide referendum on transgender rights, Massachusetts voters on Tuesday said “yes” to maintaining a 2016 law that extended nondiscrimination protections to transgender people, including their use of public bathrooms and locker rooms that align with their gender identity. With nearly 50 percent of precincts reporting, the “Yes” vote garnered 70 percent of the vote, compared to 30 for the “No” vote. The results are pending official confirmation. “Massachusetts voters reaffirmed our Commonwealth as a place that fiercely defends our basic values of dignity and respect for everyone,” Carol Rose, executive director of the ACLU of Massachusetts, said in a statement shared with NBC News. “At a time when transgender rights are being threatened nationally, we absolutely must preserve the rights we have secured at the state level.” The outcome in Massachusetts was a huge relief to LGBTQ-rights activists across the country, who feared that a vote to repeal the 2016 law would prompt a wave of similar efforts to roll back protections in other states. Already, some protections at the federal level are under threat from President Donald Trump's administration. “Voters in Massachusetts made history tonight and sent a clear message that transgender rights are human rights,” Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of national LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD, said in a statement. “This victory for transgender people all around the country is the latest sign that the Trump Administration’s attempts to discriminate against transgender Americans are completely out of step with where the American public is.” Opponents of the 2016 nondiscrimination law have been trying to repeal it since its passage. The group Keep MA Safe said the law enables people with “evil intentions” to “prey on the vulnerable.” “We are deeply disappointed that the people of Massachusetts will continue to be forced to sacrifice their privacy and safety in the name of political correctness,” Andrew Beckwith of Keep MA Safe said. “Our commitment to defending the fundamental rights to privacy and safety, particularly for women and children, will not change. We will move forward, developing other strategies to protect the rights of those who are negatively affected by this law.” The ballot measure attracted the attention of celebrities and transgender advocates across the U.S., who used the hashtag #YesOn3 to show their support for the anti-discrimination measure. https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/massachusetts-backs-transgender-rights-historic-statewide-referendum-n933516
  2. When i go there I usually order a small plate of the yellow rice with chicken on the bone and then when I go to pay takeaway rice only for an extra 10 baht and they also give me a little broth with that. Just put the rice in the broth and nuke it for a couple of minutes and I think it's a better alternative to Mama noodles.
  3. RX, do you know the relationship between Super Rich Thailand and Super Rich 1965? They both seem to have the same head office but different branches? I am pretty sure there are two Super Rich booths at the airport one of which is the green one and the other a reddish or orange one. But the airport is not listed as a 1965 location. It seems Super Rich 1965 has many locations in BTS stations. There are dropdown menus with the exchange rates at various locations at each site. http://www.superrich1965.com/en_currency_rate.html https://www.superrichthailand.com/#!/en/exchange
  4. In Bangkok Vasu tends to have the best exchange rate. http://www.vasuexchange.com/ At Suvarnaphumi Airport Rail Link here are two websites Super Rich (Green) and Value Plus. Don't forget to choose Suvarnaphumi from the drop down menu. Can't find the special Kasikorn rates that are offered at the two Kasikorn booths at the Suvarnaphumi Airport Rail Link. https://www.superrichthailand.com/#!/en/exchange http://www.valueplusexchange.com/#/ Note that according to the above two websites you can make an instant profit by changing USD in 100 dollar denominations to baht and then instantly changing back the baht to USD in one dollar notes. If you exchanged a few thousand dollars you make enough profit for a blowjob. Unfortunately not from the girl in the booth but rather a freelancer on Lower Suk. In practice though, these booths often don't have USD in one dollar notes available. But when returning home and wanting to exchange money back to your home currency you can see if any booths have small denomination notes available in your currency. If changing baht to your currency you want the lowest Sell rate.
  5. One regular eatery of mine is the Chicken stand on Pattaya Tai and Buakhao. Opens at around 6PM. Closes around 11 or so. Opens earlier on Sunday snce the motbike place is closed. 3 choices of chicken. lean white meat, fried chicken, or delicious chicken on the bone. Comes with delicious yellow rice or white rice. Plus a big bowl of broth. there had been a 10 baht differential between large and small and I couldn't really tell the difference so I'd order small. Then they raise the price only on the small and it was only a 5 baht differential. Now they raised the price on the large so it's back to a 10 baht differential. 40 baht for small. 50 baht for somewhat larger. You can also get a plate of rice for 10 baht. The yellow tasty enough to eat alone. I think best to go early because not really great for chicken and rice to be out there in the big pot.
  6. Polls open shortly in Eastern states. Although she is an underdog, it is possible that Vermont will elect the first Transgender Governor. She promises to wok her butt off!
  7. Animal rights activists say they have uncovered a “bestiality club” operating near the northern Thai capital of Chiang Mai, after an investigation lasting more than a year. A man accused of running the club has been questioned by police after Watchdog Thailand provided video evidence of dogs being sexually abused. He denies the claims. The watchdog claims the bestiality club used the Line chat application to invite people to join the “Bobo” group, for a fee of 200 baht (US$6). For that price members could watch videos of others sexually abusing dogs. Once a month, members had the option to pay extra to meet and abuse dogs. They could choose between 10 dogs to abuse. Beer

What beer do you drink in Thailand. I used to order Leo to save money, but more and more I am drinking San Mig Lite as I feel better the next morning. In gogos where there is a big price differential between draft and bottled beer, I will still go for the cheap draft though.

    Linda Bar

Was in Linda bar recently and was impressed with the talent both inside and outside. There did not seem to be yabba crazed ladyboys around. Sat at the round table and had an enjoyable beer. What's nice about WS around 3AM is by then the non-sex tourists are gone and it is more reminiscient of the good old days.
  10. Just got home from Marine Disco. Hadn't been there in at least 3 years. Went at 3:30 AM which is prime time. First thing I noticed is that they must have upgraded their sound system. So even though is was loud; sometimes I couldn't make out what my mates was saying, the music wasn't at all painful and sounded good despite being loud. Lots of ladyboys especially in the area furthest from the the entrance. Was also a table of mincers. One was easily in the top 1% of mincers and was the boyfriend of the guy paying for the table. One of teh boys at the table was a former ladyboy from Rompho who is now at boy at Jomtien Complex, a feisty femboy was a huge cock. Good to see that Marine has had an upgrade!
  11. In the Ultra Power Saving mode on Samsung Galaxys a limited number of apps are available including Whatsapp. But it seems in Thailand, not too many people use Whatsapp; Thais and most Farangs prefer Line. Anyone know if there is an easy way to use Line in the Ultra Power Saving mode?
  12. Another night in Pattaya. This was just a very quick Walking Street night. Started out at The Windmill. Draft beer I'd fairly priced at 80 baht for what is arguably the wildest gogo in town. I hadn't been there in a few years and see they now have an upstairs. Took a quick look upstairs and it didn't look any wilder than downstairs. Then just seconds away is Katoeys R Us. Despite having a good array of talent the place was empty quite a contrast to the packed Windmill. Too bad both these places are on Walking Street. We went back to Windmill on a future night. We've all seen girls shooting ice cubes out of their pussies into your beer mug dozens of time. And dildos and vegetables being inserted. But saw something that night I've never seen before. One of the girls asked if she could pee in my mate's empty beer mug and she filled it almost to the top. Good thing she didn't have asparagus for dinner! My impression of October in Pattaya is feast or famine depending on the bar or area. Windmill packed. Lots of customers at New Plaza and MIT. Action Street, half the bars closed and the existing bars with hardly any customers. Blue Ratree Complex near Action Street 90% of the bars closed and at the two or three existing bars almost no customers. (spelling corrected)
  13. Interesting, can't recall ever hearing about a Ladyboy Soapy Massage! Best of luck with ZZ2! I love the feel of Soi Chaiyapoon! At night the rugged feel of the soi, offers a romantic 3rd World vibe. Lot's of atmosphere somewhat similar to Victory Hill in Sihanoukvile before the tsunami of Chinese money. OTOH the paved Soi Honey, feels more like Switzerland. The potholes are actually an asset in the Dry Season as it slows down speeding motobikes. Is there still a bar as part of the Zaza group on Chaiyapoon?
  14. Went to see Hunter Killer tonight. Wasn't going to go as the Rotten Tomatoes score was a pathetic 34% but my better half liked the trailer. I was pleasantly surprised. We both liked it. It is certainly not a great film, the plot and acting weaker than other submarine movies Crimson Tide and The Hunt For Red October but is by no means a horrible movie and IMO deserves a better rating than 34. So not a movie to rush out and see, but it very well could be the best movie currently playing at some Thai multiplexes that both Thais and Farangs might enjoy.
  15. Major Cineplex at theAvenue Mall has a discount card that comes in three flavors: 1) Regular 2) Student 3) Age 60+ These cards cost 100 baht and supposedly good forever. The Regular card gives you a 20 baht discount. The 60+ has a 50 baht discount. You also get a free movie during your birthday week. The website states this free movie must be at least one month after you buy the card but the girl at Major told me the movie will be free on my birthday week later this month. There are also points you can earn. Not really sure what they are good for. If you buy a ticket for you and your companion think you get extra points, not sure but I think. But you only get a discount for yourself. This card might also be good at other chains other than Major. Hey, anyone know if the Sensations/Baby Boom discount card or 69 Bar discount card is still around?

Whitey The Wanker was beaten to death in prison the other day. Here is a clip from 2 years ago:
  17. I don't object to the concept of karaoke. Done right, it can be lots of fun. But invariably at Pattaya events the speakers are shite which don't support loud volume. So the experience is usually physically painful for me. OTOH, a sound system such as in Baccarat sounds great even if they play songs I don't particularly care for at a loud volume. I'm curious as to how expensive it is to rent the whole setup for night. Anyone know?

    The Big Breakfast

I-Rovers brekkie that was 99 baht is now 129 so no longer a great deal. The Backpacker place across from Surprise Yourself has a 100 baht brekkie. I think the Simple Simon brekkie on Soi5 in Jomtien is a very good deal as the meat and toast are high quality and you get 2 big cups of coffee. Usually go there on Immigration days. 129 baht. Passed by the Apex today (right next to The Base) and they still have their 150 baht breakfast buffet from 6AM until 12:30 PM according to the sign Those hours don't fit well with my sleep rhythm bit perhaps I'll check it out on the morning after the US midterm elections. Last time I went there was a good selection of food and all the coffee you can drink. Like most buffets, the food is freshest the earlier you go.

Who is to blame? Indonesia? Lion Air? Boeing? Pilot was only 31 years old. Anyone know the relationship between Lion and Thai Lion? Lion seems to have a bad rep ad does Indo safety.
  21. Last night I was headed home from the Tin Cup joint on Buakhao, and was walking along LK Metro when a girl outside the Orifice handed me a piece of paper for a free draft beer that need to be used that night. The beer was quite refreshing as dinner was a tad on the spicy side. Although Champagne was the first gogo on Metro, the Orifice was probably one of the first three. Good layout. Not too many girls that night but some were pretty. At any rate can't beat a free beer; OK 20 baht with tip. I tend to go out late therefore missing most happy hours. But some of the gogos have cheap draft beer options, so if one is in the mood for an AC place with dancers, Metro is not all that much more expensive than even a super cheap place like Kateseree. as long as you're not buying ladydrinks. Billibong had a big crowd, guess they always have a big crowd,. It was an anniversery party. Billibong has 2 for 1 pricing which I don't like. Just cut out the games and charge me for one beer at half the price. I like the flexibilty of leaving after one beer to see where the grass is greener.
