  1. JimSlim, you had the right of it sir; your prescience is hereby noted and commended. Enjoy your medals everyone.
  2. So I guess gays in the military are okay in Thailand? Oh, right, but they're not gay. Don't ask, don't tell. I know a ladyboy who just got called up; I better not show her this photo or she might shave her head, take the implants out and enlist, 555.
  3. bb, pm me the make and model. I have an idea of the problem, but am on my phone atm. Too much to type on a phone ....
  4. Once I drove three hours out of my way -- including a detour on a dirt road -- to visit Hell, Michigan ... and the general store was out of post cards. No stamps either. I did make it to Climax, though, and they had stamps *and* postcards. And more than once I've driven from London to Paris or vice versa on my way to/from Cincinnati, Ohio. Really. Can't say as I've been to St. Louis-du-Ha-Ha, though. Next time I'm in North America I'll have to remedy that. Those wacky Quebecois ... Sacre bleu ...
  5. If you clear out your browser's cache and the relevant cookies, you should be able to get away with only closing and relaunching your browser, as opposed to rebooting your entire computer. Myself, being the nerd that I am, have my browsers set to empty their cache and cookies every time I shut them down. This keeps them happy and healthy; the digital equivalent of prune juice, as it were. And remember, for those of you worried about this sort of thing: cookies are one way of determining what you've been up to online -- how The Google keeps track of where you've been, etc. Your browser cache would also indicate where you've been, should the authorities/your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/kids snatch your computer and snoop around. All those porn sites you visit? All those jpegs are in a temporary cache on your hard drive. ...
  6. Another option is to use the little button in the left hand corner of the top toolbar, the one that looks like a light switch. This will give you the option of editing the code directly. To wit: Then you can quote whatever you wish, by adding quote tags in [ ], manually editing the quoted post the editor dumped into your post, or whatever code you want to tinker with. And viola:
  7. Still on the scene though, just not working out of Famous -- at least at the moment. I got a text of inquiry from the other day, since she knows I can't be arsed to use Thaifacefriendlybookster.com. Although I will sit with her in bed while she chats with other potential customers and help her respond, 555.
  8. For me the easiest way to find the little soi Darkside is on is to look for the Wall Street bar, as shown in FatCat's picture at the bottom of the previous page. Not only do they have that big blue awning, but they have a faux street sign that sticks out and is easily visible as you walk down Soi 33; it says (naturally enough) Wall St. in white letters on the traditional street-sign green background. As FatCat said, the Darkside sign is partially obscured by signs for other other bars, and at night it looks literally like a dark alley, at first. I can see how people missed it; the first time I went I walked past the soi twice before I found it. May pop in there tomorrow night around 8:30 ish, if anyone is about.
  9. Oh, I wish I had seen Guitar lately. Last I saw her she was working in Obsessions. We only went short time because I was heading back to Suphanburi the next day early. That was a couple years ago now. I know she had mixed reviews, but I always had a great time with her, and she was nothing but a sweetheart with me. I hope she's doing well. JaiDee, if you do track her down or hear how she's doing I'd appreciate it if you let us know. I'm sure I'm not the only one. ...
  10. Nah, beer's been around for about 7,000 years. Zing! Sorry, I couldn't resist; that was a soft one lobbed over the plate. And sorry, Chase, please carry on. To make up for it, I'll mention that I stopped in the other night, and only stayed briefly, as my intended, Candy was already spoken for, but I enjoyed myself with minimal hassle, while I was there. And the rest of the lineup, as you can see, is indeed cracking.
  11. Thanks for the kind words, gents. Willie, looks like you were at the other end of Beach Road from me. ... I didn't think there was going to be a parade; it was supposed to start at 2, but after when I still didn't see anything on the south end of Beach Road but the usual traffic, I was making my way back to 13/1 when the first parade vehicles finally made their appearance. Figures a Thai parade would run on Thai time, eh? Might have to track down this O'Gara's Bar sometime, looks to be some cuties working there. ...
  12. I'm pretty sure it was Hugo Chavez who blew it up. ...
  13. Oops, forgot the parade king and queen's court. Here they are:
  14. So I took more than 130 photos, give or take, of this year's parade. It's a rather modest affair, more of an excuse for the quote/unquote Irish bars in town to promote themselves, but then there is nothing wrong with that. Anyway, of those photos I took, about 62 were worth editing; here's a select few for those of you who couldn't be in scenic downtown Pattaya on March 17 -- more or less in order in which I shot them. I've posted a few of these in other threads, by the way, in case a few looked familiar. Keep calm and carry on, you Sunnee enthusiasts: What would a celebration of Irish culture be without Brazillian dancers in their own traditional finery? Spied these ladies across the street watching the parade. I have some lesbian friends back home that would cream their jeans over these two: Give him a long white Gandalf-esque beard, and St. Patrick would look the part (minus the shades, of course): Someone had a bit too much craic/sanook last night ... So a little hair of the dog will solve what ails ales ye. Hello titties ladies. Here's an asshole a gentleman doing his best to improve the image of foreigners in Thailand: My favorite dinner: Mixed Grille, 555: The parade king and queen look suspiciously non-Gaelic (i.e., not pasty white and fleshy). Maybe that explains the king's death rictus smile ...
  15. Good on her. I love the pragmatism of Asian cultures. While Thais aren't as pragmatic as some, still, compared to Western cultures, Thais take a pragmatic view of life. While I'm not one of those people that thinks Asian cultures in general -- or Thai culture in particular -- are the end all and be all of human civilization -- and there are plenty of things about Western culture I appreciate (more so now that I've been living here awhile) their pragmatism is one thing we would do well to emulate.
  16. Far be it from me to question Johnny Steinbeck, an author I happen to enjoy, but methinks that while there is a certain amount of truth in that statement, at the same time it is a gross over-simplification of the lower middle class and lower class/working class folk and rural folk that were born and raised in America. The zeitgeist of America is a wee bit more complex than that; I don't think Steinbeck cut to the quick/put the nail on the head, etc. (on the other hand, he did have books to sell and I'm sure he understood his market -- I know, I'm a cynical dickhead, 555). There are many reasons, historical and cultural -- not to mention economics -- as to why we never took to socialism to the degree that others have elsewhere -- Europe, for example -- and probably never will. In some respects, speaking as a citizen, I think this has been a good thing; in others bad and in some few respects flat out ridiculous (fetal birth rate and education, come to mind). But that can be said of any social/political/economic system humans have ever come up with, with the possible exception of benevolent despotism (but then the trouble with that is succession). As a species we have a spotty track record on ruling ourselves, at best.
  17. Hey! I resent resemble that remark! I think I saw those guys on Beach Road today during the parade, incidentally. Oh, but we're off topic now, eh? 555. I will say this about Hugo Chavez, to redeem myself -- and I defy anyone to disagree with me; if you do you are a mindless newt and your counterpoint is moot; end of discussion. Chavez .. the man rocked a track suit. He owned it. The world would be a better place if all world leaders wore gym clothes all the time. Think about it.
  18. Good to see you surface, Ninewives! And St. Patrick's Day greetings to all of you from Pattaya, where we are keeping it classy, as this gentleman demonstrated during the parade today. There's pissed, and then there's pissed ... Yes, he literally pissed on the parade -- that he was participating in. Fortunately it wasn't all drunken moronic fat guys. To make up for the above, here's this: P.S. I did pay less than 70 euros last night (technically early this afternoon), and she was a transsexual, 555
  19. I was just taking the piss on everyone of course; no insults ... Uh .... Implied or inferred, I hope. Otoh, if it makes for more civil discourse, then yay!
  20. Can't you all just take this to LBP? Like Sam said, let it fucking go.
  21. No, he's not a loony; that's just what the aliens/ancient astronauts/chemtrails/Jewish Illuminati/U.S and/or World Shadow Government/Men-in-Black want you to think. You just did!
  22. All due respect to you and Laurence Britt and Milton Mayer, whoever they might be (perhaps I'm illustrating my ignorance), but citing something on Jeff Rense's website may not exactly bolster your argument/cause, if intellectual perspicacity is what you're aiming for, 555. I'm just sayin' (and trolling just a wee bit. ).
  23. Great news regarding Gate; yet another reason to make it down to Soi 33. Relieved to hear my favorite (now ex-) Guess sweety found a new place of employment. I'll have to stop in next week so I can update my avatar, 555.
  24. So much for seeing the comet in Bangkok. My neighborhood is far enough out from the CBD that I can actually see some stars and constellations on the rare clear night, though.
  25. Anyone got her number/bar she works in/x-rated pics?
