  1. Another person's opinion. https://www.jambase.com/article/bob-dylan-capitol-theatre-november-2023-review Bob Dylan Delivers Another Stellar Show In Late-Career Resurgence At Capitol Theatre I saw Bob Dylan at The Capitol Theatre on Wednesday, November 8, and it was an amazing experience, another terrific performance in a late-career resurgence. He’s 82 years old and performing like a madman on “The Never Ending Tour,” which Wikipedia says commenced on June 7, 1988 and has included about 100 shows a year ever since. Thousands of performances for decades, so maybe it’s not surprising that he has five in metro New York over the current two weeks. ...of all those artists Bob was by far the biggest influence and most important artist to me — but not just to me. I think Bob Dylan is the most important, influential artist of the modern rock and pop era, even above Sir Paul and the Beatles, who were singing “Love Me Do” before they started listening to Dylan. He altered the conception of what a rock song could be, he merged pop, rock, folk, blues and country to the point where the distinctions didn’t matter.
  2. Unbelievable. It was fake news
  3. OMG. This is where old Baby Boom was? Where that shortcut from Soi Buakhao to Soi pothole is? Sorry for being late to the party but the excitement about another bar is limited. Rom, you must be over the moon. First Lily , now Cindy opening a bar in Pattaya. I don't know what you're doing fucking grannies in Philippines. You seen this, Rom?
  4. Sounds like the west. People are up to their necks with mortgages, interest rates increasing every month. Banks making record profits. Are the thais still untaxed below 15 K/month?
  5. Thank you for taking the time answering . My question was seriously meant, as there are a few members whos number 1 interest after ladymen is MONEY. I know nothing about economics. All I do is calculating quick if my approaching ST will be 20 or 30 euros.
  6. So is the baht getting weaker or not? I read all of your post but understand very little. Is deflation the opposite of inflation? I know Brady deflated the balls awhile back...
  7. Thats the westside sign. I do it every day to my homies.
  8. Like the naked draft dodger in Naklua posted yesterday. Thailand is so fucked up in so many ways. If it wasn’t for the outstanding amount of beautiful ladymen they could go….. themselves.
  9. No. Russians gets 90 days free. If I want to stay 90 days I have to pay for a tourist visa (not sure how much now) then an extension at immigration, 1900 thb. If you watch the video Adam quotes a Thai official saying they want short stay visitors, not farangs staying months on long term visas which is what I need. So again , they obviously want Russians, Indians, Chinese, Taiwanese tourists on short stay holidays, not longstay cheap charlie ladyman chasing farangs like me.
  10. They really don't want westerners there anymore. No visa waiver for us, but for Russians. Only short time visitors, as stated in the video.
  11. I totally agree. Its just so damn rough being on the wrong side of 50 :)
  12. This is what it comes down to really. I like dad rock. My age shows and I'm fine with that. Hate K-pop, EMD , so called DJ's of any kind, techno, thai karaoke and Taylor Swift. I know P Diddy is a huge Swift fan though. I do like some 'newer' stuff such as Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, The Strokes, Oasis. Its not easing being a music fan in Thailand unless you like endless cover versions of Hotel California, Another brick in the wall, Zombie etc etc. Amen. He sure was. Last year's gig was one of the best I've seen in ages. Seen the Stones 5 times I think, first one was Steel Wheels tour in early 90s. Last year's was hands down the best. I couldn't believe how good these 80 years old guys were. The previous tour in 2017 was lame and old. Gay (Just kidding). I grew up in Sweden so this group didn't go by unnoticed. I was never into the brit posers like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Madness or any other britpop. When I moved to the states these groups were huge though. Everything British was the shit and I couldn't understand it. Pistols and The Clash was before this. Basically punk.
  13. I wish I'd never posted about that R9 idiot. I think he's been to New Bar and the new 69 bar recently, denying he's into lbs but its all he ever talks about. He comes from a macho culture background, a lot of his friends are muslims so for him to admit he's into lbs is big No no.
  14. Mostly yes but I'm surprised how many young kids attending Stones and Dylan shows. Caught them both live last year. Now, Van Morrison last summer was a senior citizen meeting. I was one of the younger (57) in the crowd.
  15. Absolutely. A legend. Bowie and Iggy Pop deserves mentioning. The Ramones as well. Lou Reed, VU etc., the list is almost endless. You sure about that? My 12 year old niece is on TikTok all day and I'm surprised she knows some of the old stuff I play. You better get on TikTok to stay up to date. GnR still cool? Come on... They're pathetic now. Liked them in the 90s , saw them live a few times but today, no way. About as cool as Bon Jovi. Ehh, no. Unless you're fucked up on syntechical drugs its DJ shit. You think Bob Dylan needs to be on his Neverending tour? Stones, Springsteen need touring? U2 doing their Vegas residence right now? Isn't Mc Cartney still doing shows? Kiss maybe, but they're never been a very good band, more of a business.
  16. Absolutely. Without these blues guys, no Rolling Stones. That’s a nice list you have there, sith.
  17. Exactly. They were first. So, most influential and culturally important? Probably yes , together with Elvis and Bob Dylan. Can’t name only one as these are equally important: The Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, the Clash.
  18. Now this is something to get excited about though. On Oct 29 Bob did this tribute to Cohen in Montreal. Only audio as of yet.
  19. Personally I think Lennon was better solo after the Beatles as it's the most overrated band in history. This is nothing to get excited over imo.
  20. seven
