  1. Its a nice, friendly place to be, and due to the posters themselves, and the staff, it hopefully will continue to be so. Thanks all round; I'm not a frequent contributor, but I do enjoy the site. Thanks again to all.
  2. Enjoyment, mutual if possible, is what its all about for me; so "not essential at all". answer = 1
  3. KenW, I also thought of you when I played the video. My reaction to the video was mainly positive as far as going back to Vn, and I'll be in touch via PM if / when I do, if thats ok with you. Cheers, Cobber
  4. I never expected I would ever hear this song again. I remember it from my time with the "uc da loi" (spelling?) army in 1966 - 67, and it certainly brings back memories of a different era (some happy; some not - as with life in general I guess). Thanks so much for posting it.
  5. Honestly, I've never thought about it before, so I guess all the bars I've been in had a toilet. I think its an essential part of a bar set-up; after all, fluid in = fluid out at some stage, and obviously the bar wants you to stay longer. So, to answer the question, yes, I'd definitely consider my options, especially if the plan was for an extended session at that bar.
  6. Well said Snick; and if only there was an easy answer to the question you pose; and if whoever/whatever takes over as government were to abolish the rice pledging scheme, would that make everyone happy? some yes, some no. Honestly, there are so many complexities facing any government in Thailand; difficult times ahead.
  7. To bkkldby, in your last post, the last 2 pictures really do it for me; something about the eyes, and what they say. Thanks again for posting.
  8. Thanks rx, your advice is spot on - it was a bad choice of words on my part when I said "advice" - I suppose I meant "information I have gained personally". Please put it down to age. I just hope all of us can enjoy our time in safety, and likewise for our companions.
  9. I've been going horse racing in Bangkok every Sunday since 29 December, using the skytrain, and with no problem at either of the tracks (Patumwan and Nanglerng). This Sunday, though (26th) will be the first since the Emergency Decree .. I'll post if there are any problems. btw I get off the skytrain at Siam and Ratchathewi stations, and catch a motorbike taxi to the track I can't give any other advice at this stage.
  10. My favs would be a selection from the above posts The Aunty Jack Show; Fawlty Towers; Ripping Yarns (especially The Curse of the Claw); South Park, and Seinfeld. There was also an English show I remember: It Takes a Worried Man - which I always enjoyed... and I've suddenly thought of The Thin Blue Line; there are probably many more that I'd willingly watch again.
  11. Redundancy has never been more enjoyable, bkkldby
  12. SP, nice thought but I'm too old for what you're making me wish for; thanks anyway - and I hope you can trace her on your next trip, knowing how much you like to play pool. Cheers
  13. For you, SP, I made a brief visit to Check In bar last night, and I am 99% sure Pancake was working there. (I've only seen her photos before, and I wasn't in a position to ask); plan to go back tonight, and I'll let you know if I learn more; btw she was wearing glasses.
  14. I'm enjoying this thread so much, just sitting quietly aroused, but Post #711, JaiDee, is absolute Heaven. Thanks heaps; you've made an old man very happy.
  15. A tragic story, and once again shows the dark side of life here. Strange how his short story may have foretold his death, and yet he could not escape it. If not a warning, then at least something to keep in mind in our relationships.
  16. I just watched the clip, and its brilliant. Of course now I'll have to spend hours looking at heaps of Seinfeld episodes, which will be a distraction from my normal (ladyboy) viewing, but great show, great acting, stories and humour. Thanks very much for posting.
  17. I'd like to add my best wishes for Christmas and the New Year as well, to the staff and all contributors who have made this site so enjoyable. And as KenW said .....
  18. Object? BB - absolutely not; and I'm 100% in agreement with bkkldby about the urinal pic. Leaves so much to the imagination. Great stuff, thanks.
  19. Many thanks KenW. I've often said that I'd never go back, but as I get older I wonder if going back to VN is an answer for me. So yes, if I get up the nerve to do it, I'd be happy to meet up with you, thank you. I'll certainly let you know. Meanwhile, I'll continue to enjoy LBR, and the variety of pics and posts. Cheers
  20. One answer to the question you pose is that politicians (governments) are not the people actually out in the field doing the fighting. From the comparative safety of their offices, they run the show, and get to go home most nights and live in comparative comfort, while the servicemen and women are out there doing the dirty work. Your comments are about America and its people - I can tell you that in Australia things were similar; and all these years after, when a lot of truths were revealed as lies, it has left many of us scarred emotionally. Mates and people I never knew died and suffered for nothing, and that leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. I went to (then) South Vietnam in 1966/67 as a young officer, doing what I believed was my duty - the "right thing". Now .... I agree with you: "Why did we not learn ...?" It makes me wonder if we (governments) ever will learn! Thanks for the interesting topic. I don't often get worked up about a subject, (other than over sexual matters) and I'd be interested to hear other views and comments.
  21. Thanks for your good wishes KenW, and all the best for Christmas and New Year to you, and everyone here. I still struggle with myself about going back to VN, but maybe next year if I can get up the nerve (too many memories make it difficult). Perhaps the right ladyboy could ease the worry - time will tell.
  22. Don't be sorry Sean, I find just about all your pictures are a turn-on
  23. That was my question too, SS. I wish I could be the judge on the ground, but, alas, I'm grounded in Bangkok at present. Should there be a definite answer, I'd be very interested to know. Either way, she is lovely to look at and thanks BB for the photos. (BTW, my tip is LB)
  24. I want to thank you, KenW, for some intriguing stories and brilliant writing. I've read the whole topic, start to finish, and I can only add to posts by others who have also enjoyed your adventures. Your VN is a very different place than I remember from 1966-67, but I was only young then and yet to discover the ladyboy world. Thank you again, and should you find yourself writing again, you are assured of at least one reader! My best Aussie wishes to you,
  25. Thanks for your reply BB and my apologies for not checking back far enough on the posts. (I just did). I'll be down there in the next few days. Thanks again.
