Double Pricing is wrong, wrong, wrong!!!.My lady and I went to a waterfall in Petchabun recently, and theofficer charged us both at the local rate, until her assistant said "no, he farang" and they hit some ridiculous figure. I told her to shove her waterfall (I couldn't help myself) so the dual pricing kept a Thai from seeing it too. Rather disappointed that my lady couldn't see my point of view. I'd also been to a barber who wanted to charge 100 baht for a 50 baht haircut. I told him I live in Thailand, my hair grows in thailand and he only has to cut that portion off. His answer: "100 baht".I did not reply - just went elsewhere. I should write a book, so I'll stop here. As some Aussies might say: fair suck of the sav.

There's a line from a song by Gomez: "..chasing after something that has already been sold .." that came to mind when I read this topic. I don't think I've ever done it myself, though I have admired one or two that have been with someone. I prefer to choose from the available, rather than try to cut someone's grass.

I must have got excited (again) as I made a comment about Zaza massage on Liza's thread. Sorry, so if you want to move it , it's okay. What I'm saying though is that Zaza Massage is great and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I've been to Zaza, and am already planning my next trip down. Yes, it is clean and well kept. And I spent an unforgettable afternoon, evening and night with the lovely Jiet. Dao and all the staff seem to care about the customers, and I can only agree with SP's comments. Well worth a visit.

Sadly his passing marks the end of an era.

I basically agree with all the above, especially the having to move / get a cue in the face. But I have gone into a bar when it's been quiet, and playing pool is an option to kill a bit of time while waiting for friends, or for more talent to arrive.

Bloody hell! Won't be playing pool on that table for a while.

Thanks SP. If Jiet can hold a card for me for now, it's just another reason to come down again. I meant to say that I saw some of the ZAZA staff on my last visit, and they were all pleasant and attractive; but for me Jiet is something special.

Bugger! I missed out on a card by 6 days! Have to get Jiet to hold one for me. And maybe L K Hotel would be an option for a place to stay as well. I think the business card is a great idea and I wish ZAZA Massage all the best.

I would take Jiet every time, thank you. I know sometimes repeats don't live up to the first time, but I feel second time would be even better. The Inn is fine. My room had a balcony overlooking soi Chaiyapoon (where Jiet went for a smoke a few times), cost 690 baht. Not hi-so by any means, and no lift (elevator) so the 4th floor tested me out on the stairs, but included a safe, tv aircon, and is good for a short stay.and 2 doors from Zaza; plenty of motorbike taxis too.

Well I made the long trip from up-country (6 hours on the bus to Bkk, then 2+ hours to Patts) to see Jiet for myself.This was one time when things worked out. She is tall, silicone free and lovely. I'm old and not naive - of course money changed hands, but she seemed to really want me to enjoy my time, and I did. She stayed the night and even took me to the bus station in the morning. I'll save up my cents (baht) and my energy and call again! Btw, Zaza is clean, well looked after by Dao and I think good for a massage, but for me other activities were more suited to my room (Chaiyapoon Inn is 2 doors down). And Dao is very friendly too, but I can't say enough about Jiet..

Without being in this position, I'd like to think I'd say thank you. Being angry after the event I can understand, but would achieve nothing. But I think I'd still be worried as hell. An interesting topic.

I think this statement from TAT is quite sensible - realistic and yet still sensitive for the huge loss suffered by the Thai people. I hope visitors will be sensible too. In Phitsanulok just now the mood is very sombre and the normal noise level where I live (a farming community) has been replaced by an almost eerie quiet, and the local temples are busy yet subdued.

This would have to be one of my favourite posts. But back to the topic - cost? I buy one and put it in my spare phone and leave it at home; I don't use a phone; I use a Thai friend's phone; etc etc. Have they really thought it through? And if I don't have a smart phone? (and I don't) will they give me one? And will the people whom they are targeting comply with the rules? Another negative for tourism.
