Tickets are pricey, but there are a few events that are open to the public. Things have really picked up since my November 27, 2022 visit. Plenty more tourists about - I would estimate close to 80% of the pre-Covid 19 days. The composition of the tourists though are very different. Plenty of Russians, Asians (including Indian), and fewer "western" tourists. A lot of Africans are back in Thailand - not as tourists, but clearly looking to make money - including some African freelancing ladies. DC10 is open again, and is a ladyboy bar - but it is in a sad state of affairs. I didn't enter, but just took a peak inside around 10:30 pm on Thursday night. No customers and around 5 lonely older looking lbs just sitting around the go go platform. I don't know how they can stay open much longer. Obsessions is still going strong, with updated outdoor signage new neon signs. Very busy with plenty of Japanese, Chinese, Korean customers. A few more ladies about than last time, likely due to increased customer numbers. Straps has changed name to "Star". I asked the reason why and I was told that a lot of customers online were saying it is a postop lb bar, which of course they deny. New signage and frontage has changed cosmetically. There is a new postop ladyboy bar called Wonderland. Located in the old Temptations spot. They have around 20 postop lbs on staff, ranging from petite 155 cm - to around 175 cm tall staff. Some real beauties rivaling those in Star, but also some average looking lbs. I think they are operating under the same format as Star - claim the staff are all ladies. The staff here were more lively, as I've heard the owner (a postop lb who used to work in Obsessions} - has different prizes weekly for those who have the best performance - free botox procedures, etc. I dropped into Cindy's Secret - recommend you check her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Cindyssecrets A nice small lounge bar with around 20 lbs on staff with occasional freelancers dropping in. Drinks are reasonably priced, much better than gogo bars (60 Baht for a softdrink vs 120 Baht in NEP/Soi Cowboy). The ladies will all surround you when you drop in, possibly due to a slow night, but there is no pressure. If you choose one to buy a ladydrink everyone will disperse quietly without the drama that can happen in some gogo bars. There are a range of lbs there from petite to tall, and from very beautiful to average. Cindy is doing fine, and with the increased tourist numbers, the customer numbers are going up. I did not check the other lb lounge bars - Checkin Bar, Why Not, Chaos 9, and Why Not have Facebook pages that feature current staff photos.

@The-SithYour exploits in your early adventures in Thailand chasing after lbs made for great reading, and of course your discovery of Princess Leia was one of those high points. Glad to hear those comments were most for comedic relief. Everyone has their preferences and that is fine. I don't have a reserved place in Straps, as I did most of my postop adventuring in the old King's Corner Bar and King's Castle 3 in Patpong. Those days are long gone with zero lbs in the remaining King's Castle bar with a sign proclaiming all 100% ladies. Back in those days the ladies weren't as mercenary as they are now - it was much easier and affordable to make arrangements for long time encounters. While the ladies in Straps are model material, most of them are very business minded. This seems to be a more common thing for all p4p, both gg's and lbs nowadays. I have to say I was lucky to experience some of the "golden times" of lb activity in Thailand.

The-Sith, your experience with post-op lb vaginas is limited, and of course you prefer pre-ops. This causes your understandable preference, but I am surprised at how strongly you feel. There are now new surgical options that a postop can elect for that result in as self-lubricating vagina (not using the colon method), giving results of greater depth, and increased sensation for the patient and her partner. I think you may have come across gg's who have exercised the muscles around the vagina so they can squeeze/massage the penis of their partners during sex. There are a rare few postop lbs who can do this too. I have met two of them so far in my journeys when I was many years younger than now. I can say those two experiences were utterly mind blowing and unforgettable. One of the postop lbs was insatiable, she wanted to continue on after 3 rounds. This would be impossible for me now. So I would say keep an open mind and don't think it's all that repulsive. There's another thing I recall about these two postop lbs, they could do the tie a knot of the stem of a candied cherry with their tongue. Not sure if this is a reliable sign or not, but they also certainly were excellent at giving blow jobs.

Some hotels will let you leave your bags free of charge until your next visit (if not too long a period of time - which varies on the hotel). I have done this at my usual hotel - Grand Business Inn on Sukhumvit Soi 11 a number of times leaving my bags up to 2 weeks.

I found something interesting during my latest visit to Thailand. I encountered a younger (20 year old) postop lb, who told me she preferred to be called a "trans" lady. I had no issues with this and did so. I asked her then what is the difference between a ladyboy and a trans and she said that she felt trans applies to postop lbs. I found this interesting as I haven't had come across this before in Thailand. However I don't think this is restricted to young vs. old. The term transwoman is being used more often in Thai society as advocacy groups are increasing awareness and education. Also my ex-gf who is 42 is also using the term trans - she has a lot of education and lived outside of Thailand for many years. There are many Thai ladyboys who don't seem to care about the term, but I think this could change over the future. If you respect the wishes of your partner (short-time, long -time or really long time), it will make the relationship smoother. No need to be stubborn about a term that we have grown used to.

Chemistry is everything and even though you expect a p4p lb (or gg) should give a good customer experience every time with any respectful paying punter, we are all human and cannot always perform the same every time. When people ask for recommendations, this should always be kept in mind.

Of all the banks, Bangkok Bank will regularly allow you to open an account with an official tourist visa at any of their branches. Here are the requirements for opening the account from the Bangkok Bank home page. You have to deposit a minimum of 500 Baht to get it activated. When I applied for the account I used my girlfriend's home address and this was accepted by the bank. Note that you can do internet banking with the Bangkok Bank account once it is opened (be sure to apply for the internet access the same time you open the account as there are a bunch more forms to fill out). Internet banking allows for online bill payments, transfer of funds SWIFT wire transfers outgoing (subject to the limits of the bank and/or the account). At the time I went to the Canadian embassy for reference letter, but if you know someone who owns a registered Thai business, they can write the reference letter for you as well.

Inflation during those times was 18% plus, so despite the high interest for savings account, there was no net increase in your savings vs expenses. Mortgage rates were 20%+. If you are applying for a Thai visa, particularly the O type visa, a minimum 800,000 Baht must be in your Thai bank account for a set amount of months before each visa renewal or application for the O type visa. Thai bank accounts give slightly better interest rates than Canadian banks and US banks on basic savings accounts, but still not good when compared to current inflation rates. The situation is similar to 22+ years ago.

Update: Patpong is less than a mere shadow of its former self. More than 50% of the clubs are closed as well as the shops. About 1/2 of the street is blacked out with the closed shuttered clubs/shops. This also caused the night market to shrink and what remains is much less busy than before. The old King's Corner (which was a mix of postop/gg's) located across from King's Garden is now split into King's Massage and King's Castle - with signs proudly stating 100% LADIES. I had a look through the door and that is likely true. No lbs in sight. I did spot a couple of lbs down a side soi parallel to Patpong - not sure what bar/club they were working at. The former King's Corner 2 (which was directly behind King's Garden in the short side alley connecting the sois, is closed. Not even a sign of another business looking to set up there. The remaining gg bars looked to be in dire straits with hardly any customers. If this continues it seems likely Patpong will be redeveloped into something else and the red light district will be lost. I did check out Nana Plaza again. Obsession bar fines are 500 Baht, with 2500 Baht short time price for a lady. On the Saturday night I dropped in around 9:30 pm not many customers, only around 20-25% full. The gg bars were busy. On the other hand Straps was packed out. I found out the bar fine there is 700 Baht, plus 3500 Baht short time for a lady - (using the NEP short time rooms). If you take her back to your hotel it is 4000 Baht short time. Again a lot of model types there. While you may not like postop lbs, it is a good place to check out the eye candy and remember that they were pre-op before. Head and shoulders more gorgeous than all the gg staff in the NEP gg bars. I would have to say this does not look good for lb go go bars. It seems to me that the lounge bars and freelancers will be where most of the p4p lbs will be found in the future.

No current direct flights to Thailand from USA. The only current direct flight from North America to Thailand is Air Canada out of Vancouver, departing on Mon., Wed, Fri, Sun, and returns on Tues, Wed, Fri, and Sun. They are operating that route with the 787-9, which is a nice plane. This will be only for the winter months for now.

NEP is not shrinking, and I think it has to do with the NEP owner's view that genetic girl bars are more popular than lb bars. On my 2 trips to NEP it was clear that most of the gg bars were busier than Obsession, and Straps was about 3 times busier than Obsession (however Straps advertises as a gg bar). Hopefully the NEP owners won't decide to shut down Obsession as well, but with the loss of the previous bars - Chili, Temptations, Mercury, DC10, Casanova and Cascade I am not too optimistic. Another interesting observation I missed mentioning about Soi Cowboy, some of the gg bars have postop lbs touting outside - they tend to be more attractive than the gg go go staff. I noticed this with at 2 bars, so it isn't widespread yet. I am not sure if they are open to barfines, but I suppose they would go if the price is right. With regard to lbs shifting to OnlyFans and other online sites - it is becoming more common, but I think for now most lbs are still either going applying to work at the lounge bars in BKK, or freelancing. I would also draw your attention that Thailand is also experiencing inflation just the same as most countries in the world, so don't expect the prices to be the same as pre-covid times for the ladies, and also anything else you buy in Thailand. Despite this, prices are generally less than you would pay at home.

I had the chance to check out the lb go-go bars in NEP and Soi Cowboy, The usual no photo policy is still being enforced for the go go bars, and likely the genetic girl bars as well. First off bad news for the lb lover regarding Nana Plaza. There is only one pre-op lb bar left in Nana Plaza - that is Obsession. The rest are all closed/taken over and converted to new gg bars. Obsession had about 25-30 lbs on the 2 nights I visited. The customer count was higher on the 2nd night (Sunday around 9:30 pm). I would say there are not many "femboys" in Obsession - most of the lbs had silicone enhanced breasts. There has also been a shift - very few "Amazonian" tall lbs now. Most of the staff were around 170 cm (about 5 ft 6 inches), and a few petite ones around 160-165 cm (5'2" to 5'3"). Some real beauties on staff. While they asked for drinks it wasn't very "pushy". Drinks have gone up, and while I don't drink alcohol - the cola price was 160 Baht up from 120 Baht pre-Covid, and I'm sure the beer/whiskey prices are up as well. For the postop lover and in general those who like very beautiful/model type ladies, Straps is open again. They have about 25 beautiful post-op lbs on staff. Some of them were in the top 30 of previous Miss Tiffany contests. However, the atmosphere at Straps is quite mercenary, and while I didn't bar fine anyone, rates are higher. One thing I think has changed is no longer insistence in using the Nana Plaza short time rooms as I saw a customer take his chosen companion down the stairs and out the entrance - possibly to his hotel, or another short time hotel in the area. Next up is Soi Cowboy. There are 2 lb bars here - most of you have already heard of Cockatoo. This bar had the same owner as the former Temptations and Mercury Bar in Nana Plaza. Cockatoo Bar has about 30 preop lbs on staff, with around 20 average showing up to work each night. There were a few beauties there but not as many as Obsession. Drinks here were a bit less than Nana Plaza, but the ladies were more aggressive asking for lady drinks. The mamasan is Teresa (former mamasan of Temptations and Mercury Bar). She informed me that Obsessions was the last preop lb bar in NEP. She also informed me that DC10 was closed (I checked it twice, and while the lights were on there were no customers and no staff inside. She said some of the lbs in DC10 had a fight/major disagreement with the Nana Plaza owners and it was closed - probably now for sale/rent. Next in Soi Cowboy is Shadow Bar. This bar also has the same owner as Cockatoo. There are about 20 preop lbs on staff, with around 15-17 showing up each night. There was a femboy working the night I visited. While there were a few lookers, they weren't as many as Cockatoo or Obsession. They were also about the same as the Cockatoo lbs asking for drinks. Something else I heard from Teresa is that the owner of Cockatoo/Shadow bar attempted to buy some space in Nana Plaza, but the owners refused his offer. It sounds like they are limiting the lb bars to one preop bar and one postop bar. Hopefully that number will not be reduced. She also informed me the King's Castle 3 (King's Corner) no longer has lbs in Patpong. I have not yet gone there to confirm, but will later. I think the lounge bars may be the best action for lbs in Bangkok - Checkin Bar, Chaos 9, Cindy's Secrets (yes the one who used to work at Cascade), and Why Not? There are plenty of freelancers on Sukhumvit on the odd numbered Soi side from Soi Nana up to Terminal 21. They will start around 9:30 pm, with the most action 10 - 11 pm.

The next segment was evening gowns - some quite spectacular! There was some drama as a couple of the contestants caught their high heels on their gowns and stumbled. Fortunately no one fell. I am not sure if the video captured these or not.

Unfortunately I missed meeting them, very elegantly dressed - as most of the lbs were in the audience. These are the last of the national costume segment. Miss Japan won the award for best national costume. You can see the plastic barrier when I do the full stage shot. Luckily it was fairly clean and did not distort the images much when I had to shoot the front of the stage photos.

I would also recommend taking 1000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily even after recovering from Covid. It has been demonstrated that Vitamin D3 boosts the immune system, particularly in those people who have low levels (little exposure to sunlight).
