London: I'm retired so I don't need to travel on public transport in peak periods. I stayed in all weekend, except for trip to LIDL supermarket which was packed so I didn't go in. It was sunny today so I walked there again this morning, not packed but lots of empty shelves. Plenty of meat though so I bought 3 steaks for freezer. Walked to Sainsburys, empty shelves there too but I bought a loaf of bread which I was out off, will freeze it in bags of 4 slices, which will last me a week. I always have some canned salmon, frozen burgers and veg in the freezer so I have enough food to get me through at least a week. I've noticed a number of people with face masks on, I didn't see any last week. I'll probably stay at home the rest of this week, the weather forecast isn't good. If there is some sunshine I might go out and see if I can get some eggs. Otherwise I'll get by with what I have until next week. I'm watching even more of the Crime & Investigation Channel than I do in los!

I went to LIDL again today just before midday, thinking it would be quieter. I didn't even go in. The traffic approaching from both directions was backed up for hundreds of yards from one direction and over a mile from the other direction. The LIDL carpark only holds about 20 cars and cars were queuing to get in. Going home I saw an ambulance on blue flashing lights stuck in the traffic gridlock about half a mile back. People are panicking big time.

Well if I do buy a new camera before my next trip, I will give you my old camera!

UK Prime Minister Johnson has just cancelled elections for London Mayor and London Assembly, also local council elections around England which were due to be held on 7 May. They have been postponed for one year until May 2021.

I went to local LIDL supermarket yesterday and today, but turned back when I saw the checkout queues. I've got enough food in to keep me going for a few days at least.

England's cricket test series in Sri Lanka due to start on 19 March has been postponed, and the England team are flying back to UK. The test series against the West Indies scheduled for June may also be cancelled. Sorry @Annat!

Teya does work long hours usually from 2pm until at least 2am, and longer if necessary, seven days a week. She's been doing that for over two years now with only bar closure days off. Moving to less but more flexible hours would be good for her, and being popular she will probably do well with barfines.

BA have extended their free change offer until end of March. But only applies to flights before the end of December, so wouldn't cover my trip in January/February next year, so I'll wait to see how things pan out before booking (or not). They have clarified terms

It must be my fault! Teya kept suggesting I take her. I said I couldn't wait until after 2am, it was past my bedtime. She said she would freelance so I could barfine her next trip!
