If I remember correctly there isn't a side turning from Soi 6 into Soi 5. If you are coming from Beach Road it would be easier to go straight to the Beach Road entry to Soi 3. You can get through from Soi 5 to Soi 4, then into Soi 3 using the linking side alleys. And the bar is on the right approaching from the Beach Road end, a couple of units down from the gym.

Yes, Emmy this is worth thinking about. It would avoid any problems with previous leaseholder about using the Katty name. I know it cost a few thousand baht for your flashing 'Katty Bar' sign which you were proud of. But if finance is a problem I'm sure your friends will help out - I certainly would. You are well known and respected now. Maybe Emmy's Bar or just 'Emmy's' should be considered to break with the past and mark your new start.

I agree. I've been following the rules in London too. I've only been out of my flat about 5 times in last 3 months, for food or medicine from pharmacy. I don't need to go out for food now as I've managed to get onto a supermarket's online order and delivery list which was closed before. Yes, it must upset the NHS staff who fear a second spike

Very sad to hear. I was afraid that the bar would not be viable with lack of foreign holiday makers, but didn't expect the rug to be pulled by sister. I think Emmy needs to take a break to take stock before looking for another bar. There will probably be more available as other owners find it will be a struggle without tourists. I have large forest scene canvas prints. Not as expensive as actual paintings, so I can replace them for a change. I like woodlands and countryside but live in a big city, so I can imagine being outdoors with some woodland scenes.

@sevenJimbo and his business partner were unable to negotiate a cheaper rent with the building owner so Sweethearts was going to close. The owners of KRUs, Youngone, Jolski and Pad Thai Boy have stepped up to keep Sweethearts Bar open, employing Jimbo part-time as front of house host (no doubt he will be in charge of music too!). KRUs is unable to re-open at present because of ongoing roadworks/remodelling of Walking Street.

That is good to hear. Well done to the KRUs guys. Does this mean Jimbo will not be moving to Jomtien? If so bbg will be disappointed that there won't be another Jomtien pensioner regular at Katty Bar!
