I've read on Pattaya Addicts forum that over-70s, pregnant women and monks can go through a fast track queue on right hand side of Immigration Hall. I'm not pregnant or a monk but I am over 70 so I should get through faster.

As the festive season is approaching I bought a couple of bottles of Jack Daniel's flavoured bourbons, cinnamon and honey, which are on offer in my local supermarket. Miserable grey wet London weather outside. Still only a few weeks until I get back to los.

I have stayed at Areca Lodge, and wasn't aware that there was any orphanage right next door to it, and I've looked on google map and can't see any. The two orphanages referred to by Paultain are the Fountain of Life Children's Centre which is in Moo 6 Naklua, about 3 km away from Areca Lodge. The Father Ray Foundation orphanage is in Sukhumvit Road also about 3-4 km away. LB forums and BMs have supported the pre-covid Ladyboy Water Volley Ball competitions (organised by a BM) which successfully raised many hundreds of thousands of Baht for charities including the Pattaya Orphanage also in Sukhumvit Road. These charities are well aware of potential issues and have safeguarding and security systems in place. Visitors cannot just turn up and wander round. Their details are taken at reception and they are escorted around by a staff member. There is no contact with children, and taking photos of children is not allowed. Your comment does sound like an insinuation, which is uncalled for in my opinion.

After reaching over 44 Baht to the UK£ last week, the Pound has fallen again after the BoE raised interest rate to 3% on Thursday. Usual economic theory is that a rise in interest rates should strengthen a currency, but after the chaos of the UK Government this doesn't apply now.

He also encouraged BMs to visit the orphanages and donate, which many did.

The proceeds from the book were to go to two Pattaya orphanages. https://www.forums.pattayatalk.com/topic/51927-the-book-is-finally-published-in-thailand/

Guinness used to be brewed in their London Park Royal Brewery, not far from where I live. It is now imported from Dublin, but still doesn't taste as good as I remember in Ireland. Maybe that is nostalgia.
-
When I drank Guinness in Ireland it did taste better than in London. The Irish here would say it is because the Guinness brewed in Dublin uses Liffey water which is softer.

Well done to the Australia World Cup Team (the Socceroos) for making a public stand against Qutar's repression of LGBTQ+ people and migrant workers, thousands of who have died building the infrastructure for the Qatar World Cup. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63407407

I thought 250 bt for a pint was relatively cheap. That would be about UK £5. Central London pubs would charge more than that. I thought some Dublin pubs would too.

Well I nominated him but I didn't know him. I did like his posts on this and the other forum and he sounded quite a character. I haven't read his book which from what you say does sound somewhat dodgy. I might try to get a copy when I'm in Pattaya.

I've taken a girl there the morning after for breakfast/brunch with nice views out to sea. She hadn't been there before and liked it. Can be hot in direct sun though. Pics from their fb page.

It's not on kindle. As you are in Pattaya, it's probably available at Canterbury Tales Bookshop.

Is that a clue? There was a song called Pancho and Lefty about Pancho Morales a Mexican bandit. Edit: I posted this before I saw your post above. I don't know who John Wesley Harding is either.
