  1. And here I was that Tomcat's pic could be parts of a printing press but it seems that Wazygose has to do with printing. So I'll guess that Tomcat's pic is parts of some sort of S&M torture device such as a rack.

Some bars have been open for 13 days (15 - 2 Buddha days). Some others waited until after the Buddha days. After being stuck at home for months, many guys were anxious to get out. And in a generous mood since the girls are hurting and most guys have had low expenses while the bars were closed. The real test starts now after the initial surge. In the GG world there is simply not enough expats around to support all the existing bars. I think ladyboy bars are in somewhat better shape but there are probably going to be rainy nights with hardly any (or no) customers. A secondary problem is that expats tilt more towards drinking with their mates while tourists tend to interact with the staff more. But to a large degree guys mates are back in Farangland so a guy may just choose to stay home rather than go out alone.

Here ya go Woodie: http://www.ladyboyreview.com/index.php?/topic/8429-coronavirus/&do=findComment&comment=194193 It seems the majority of Thai people, except for those directly affected by tourism, are extremely concerned about public safety and want the border closed or a strict quarantine. Can't really say that I blame them.
  4. In Pattaya, Delirious, Sweethearts, Katty, and TJ's are confirmed open. If you're a barowner and your bar is open, please let our members know. Bangkok too.

All flights from Egypt will be barred from landing in Thailand, following an incident last week when members of an Egyptian military mission defied Thai regulations by not confining themselves to their hotel in Rayong. One of the group was later found to be infected with COVID-19, causing alarm among residents of the province. Several schools were closed today, as a precautionary measure, as health officials try to trace people who might have been in close contact with the Egyptians. Why do birds fly south for the winter? Because it's too far to walk. Guess if Egyptians can't fly to Thailand they'll just have to walk.

Thailand is going well beyond the objective of flattening the curve and instead is determined to stamp out the virus. BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand’s government tightened regulations for the entry of foreigners on Tuesday, after two new imported coronavirus cases with possible exposure to the public raised concern about a second wave of infections. Thailand has been 50 days without confirmed local transmission of the coronavirus, but two cases among foreigners this week has led to the self-isolation of more than 400 people and fears on social media of a new contagion. Those isolated may have been exposed to a 43-year-old crewman of an Egyptian military plane in eastern Rayong province and a 9-year-old girl and family member of a Sudanese diplomat in Bangkok. Both were exempt from the mandatory 14-day state-supervised quarantine required for returnees. The government acknowledged that regulations for diplomats and air crewmen, who were among a few categories of foreigners allowed to enter since March with self-isolation requirements, have been too lax. “This should not happened, I am really sorry that it did and I want to apologise to the public,” said Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha. Concern spread among Thais online that a second wave of infections and a new lockdown could follow in a country fast returning to normalcy after restrictions were eased. Two schools were closed in Bangkok on Tuesday and at least 10 shut in Rayong province, where the Egyptian had arrived last Wednesday and spent time at a mall before leaving on Saturday. Shopping areas and streets were quiet in Rayong and according to media, about 90% of hotel bookings canceled. All diplomats and family members, who were previously allowed to self-isolate in their residences, must now be quarantined under government supervision. Short-term visit by businessmen and state guests who were allowed to enter as of July 1 have been suspended. Coronavirus tests given to those who may have been exposed to the two cases. Thailand’s coronavirus tally since January is 3,227 infections and 58 deaths. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-thailand/thailand-changes-entry-rules-after-new-covid-19-cases-spark-second-wave-fear-idUSKCN24F0ZU

This is big news in Thailand along with the Sudanese diplomat's daughter. My better half mentioned it tonight so people are talking about it. I find it encouraging that the big news is just two reported cases and the CCSA can go full force with contact tracing. Much easier to do with two cases rather than with the tens of thousands of new cases in the USA every day. The CCSA can also scrutinise what went wrong and what corrective action can be implemented. In 37 states new cases of Covid-19 are increasing by 5% per day. Might not sound like much but that means new cases double every two weeks. If things couldn't get worse in the world the bubonic plague aka Black Death has surfaced in Colorado.

  12. Barowners serve up a bunch of self serving crap. But there are guys who want to be the barowner's best friend and splashing the cash in the right bar fast tracks guys who aspire to climb the greasy scrotum pole of the third world tranny social scene. Perhaps the worst myth is that bellringing is normal behavior. I do think that it is very poor value for the money and one is better off spending an equal amount of baht on selected girls and your mates. But one friend of mine who is very well off told me the other day that he doesn't want to be tied down making small talk to a girl he is not interested and can easily afford the bell ring. Actually I rang the bell for (I think) the very first time last week and I've been coming to Thailand since 2002. But it was at Katty Bar and there weren't many girls there. In this specific case I didn't mind helping out the girls because times are tough and also don't mind helping out Emmy for the same reason. Emmy and the girls have been extremely nice to me despite dozens of cheap charlie visits. You're right, Steady Eddie is probably a CC as are most guys who spend months at a time in Southeast Asia. Obviously he is no expert in Vietnam but his videos offer his personal experience and I think somewhat useful as a starting point for the Vietnam first timer. Many nice freelancers out there both on the street and dating sites. But I still think a newbie that is not very street wise is safer pulling from the bar on his virgin trip to Thailand. It's also country dependant. I know exactly what to do on the street in Angeles City. But in Phnom Penh, the streetwalkers appear shifty to me so I prefer the bars. Bars have been changing due to the proliferation of smart phones and the girl's social media use. The bar scene has been overdue for downsizing. Covid-19 is a major disrupter. My guess is in a year that half the bars in Pattaya will be out of business.
  13. If Thailand opens its borders then Covid-19 will spread throughout the country. Seems to me the choice is between: 1) Social distancing, mask wearing, curfews, closures, and alcohol bans or 2) Sacrifice the short term tourist industry. Keep the border closed to most people. Exceptions would include diplomats, business people, those with Thai wives and kids, and those with long term visas. Require a quarantine for most arrivals. If this scenario evolves then I'll have to look into a civil partnership and see if that makes sense. No need to build a wall. If a limited number of people swim across the Mehkong probably no big deal. Will Door Number 2 wreak havoc upon the economy? Yes. This one segment of the economy is so important that Thailand will plunge into a severe recession if the country is not already in one. But even if the borders do open without quarantine in 2021, I estimate that tourism will be down at least 50% from 2019. Some won't want to travel if dangerous. Others will be out of money or financially cautious if there is a worldwide depression equalling the 1930's.

  17. Prostitutes in Germany are demanding the right to get back to work as the country’s brothels remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Approximately 400 prostitutes and brothel operators from across Germany demonstrated in the red light district of Hamburg on Saturday, Germany news agency Deutsche Welle reported Sunday. Prostitution is legal and regulated in Germany but the country’s brothels have been closed for almost four months due to the outbreak. Now, sex workers say they are being treated unfairly and are demanding the right to return to work, especially as other businesses where close contact is permitted, such as hair salons and tattoo parlors, have reopened. The protest was organized by the Association of Sex Workers with the group warning that the closure of licensed venues had forced some prostitutes onto the streets, putting them in danger both in terms of their health and personal safety. Ahead of the protest on Herbertstrasse, a street in the district of St. Pauli in Hamburg and the only street in the city’s “red light district” where sex workers occupy windows, similar to Amsterdam’s red light district, the association posted a statement on its website calling for sex workers to be able to work again. “Prostitutes stand up and ask the politicians to open the brothels,” the association said. “While around the infamous Herbertstrasse in Hamburg/St. Pauli, normal life returns after the coronavirus lockdown, shops, hotels, bars and restaurants have reopened, tourists are guided through the world-famous neighborhood, the windows in Herbertstrasse remain dark (and there is) no life, no business, no joy. Nothing is going on.” The statement added that “prostitutes are upset” at the continuing ban on sex work, and are concerned for their livelihoods. “They have met all government requirements, paid taxes, received little corona support, stand with their backs to the wall and are tired of the fact that politics is not taking action.” The group argues that prostitution does not pose a higher risk of infection than other body-related services, such as massages, cosmetics, dancing and contact sports and that hygiene “has always been part of business for prostitutes.” The group added that workers are prepared to implement more protective measures, such as partitions in the windows, ventilation and the recording of customer contact data. The group has questioned whether it is proportionate to keep Germany’s brothels closed given the country’s falling number of coronavirus infections. Like its European counterparts, Germany has seen a high number of coronavirus cases (with nearly 200,000 cases to date) but unlike its neighbors, it has kept the death toll low with 9,071 fatalities so far. Germany has attributed its low death toll to several factors, including a robust contact-tracing system and modern hospital infrastructure. There are estimated to be around 400,000 sex workers in Germany, although no official data is recorded. The Association of Sex Workers cited members that feel humiliated having to turn to the state for financial support, and also those that insist they can offer their services in a safe way. One worker, Anna, was quoted as saying that partitions had been set up in the windows of Herbertstrasse. “Mouth-nose masks are already there. We went through everything carefully: we can also offer sexual services under coronavirus protective measures. We find it insulting and incapacitating if we are not trusted,” she said. The association said that sex workers in Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria and the Czech Republic had been allowed to return to work since the beginning of June. In Amsterdam, where Europe’s most well-known Red Light District is located, sex workers were allowed to return to work last month after the government brought forward an initial return to work date of September 1. Red Light United, a group representing sex workers’ interests in the Netherlands, said that the ban on sex work during the coronavirus crisis had forced many women with little or no financial buffers into illegal work. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/13/germanys-sex-workers-protest-to-go-back-to-work-amid-coronavirus-ban.html

Covid-19 is like a runaway train in the Sunbelt. Florida reported 50% more new cases on Sunday than on Saturday. If this exponential growth continues there would be 17 times the number of current cases in a week. So Florida would have 4 million cases in just one week. Of course, this won't happen because people will change their behavior and hunker down but it's scary out there. I'm glad I'm living in Thailand where the government too drastic steps early which contained the pandemic. We should remain safe as long as the border remains closed.

Somewhat like bugchasing I reckon. Bugchasing, also known in slang as charging, is a practice, typically among gay men or men who have sex with men, of pursuing sexual activity with HIV-positive individuals in order to contract HIV. Individuals engaged in this activity are referred to as bugchasers. Bugchasers seek sexual partners who are HIV-positive for the purpose of having unprotected sex and becoming HIV-positive; giftgivers are HIV-positive individuals who comply with the bugchasers' efforts to become infected with HIV.
