Margaritas has a daily menu special; last night I had a delicious 84 peso Curry Pork, complete with a cup of rice :) I also noticed they had gin tonics on sale for 34 pesos.... Yikes!

Last night I ate a delicious curry pork with a cup of steamed rice- 84 pesos only :) There is also a Shwarma joint (Kebabs) on Fields that sells 55 pesos shwarmas; good for a lite snack near the action... The nurse LB invited me to her apt, so that was interesting as I was the only white guy in the neighborhood. She works the night shift, so I left around 11pm; she walked me to the jeepny terminal, where she catches her ride to work. Not sure about this one, she doesn't like to hold hands in public... Went to Phillies, sat at the rail and talked to several LBs. Told them "I'm not taking lady tonight" which wasn't accepted well by a couple of them. (Got two Fuck Off txts, lol) I don't take it personally- it's a very low, low season here...

Gee, I've NEVER seen a Thai guy take a wiz on the street, 555! But "blame" the foreigner always plays well with the locals and distracts them from real, structural problems holding the country back. But yeah, we are guests and that's just the way it is. Smart of them to show remorse, that's what the locals do :)

Airports typically have poor exchange rates, so yeah avoid if possible or just exchange enough for a taxi, etc. I can't recommend a Malaysian exchange place, but Google is your friend :)

No problema, its what this board is about, sharing information. I pay 500 for ST; if I like the service I tip one or two hundred, so 500 to 700 for ST. I talk to the girls a few times before I take them, vet them out a little to see if we are a match. With only a few exceptions, we usually have a great, mutually enjoyable time, so they are like compensated fuck friends, lol. They seem happy with the compensation and always welcome a chance to go with me again. I haven't taken any of the compensated ladyboys long time. I stayed overnight with one ladyboy that is a nurse and she isn't after money, which could be a problem, because when they aren't after money, they are looking for a BF, lol. I've made it plain that I'm not the BF type, but we stay in contact. I really like her, so who know.... Yikes! Did I say that? Somebody get me drunk, lol!

I went out again last night, walked past Phillies and saw a ladyboy that I had been chatting with on Skype. I went for it and man I'm glad I did. She started out a little shy, but then she "blew a fuse" and rocked my world. I know its her job, but we really hit it off. She is a very nice person that I had the good fortune to take short time. So sweet that I'm worried that she might melt, if it rains... Ha! About the bars, I'm not really that excited about ladyboys working in them. Yeah, you can buy her a drink and get to know here- but I can do that at Phillies as well... and her drink cost the same as mine. Basically the freelancers hang around outside and and if you invite her in, that's cool. If you take her, there is none of this bar fine BS that some ladyboy bars charge in Pattaya. The bars on Fields are really slow, its a very low, low season. There are a ton of Korean guys around now, especially on the weekend. AC is close enough for a quick, two day trip. Kokomos is another good spot to observe the night life, and LBs. They will try to catch your eye and, if you repond, they will some times approach and stand by the rail and exchange name, numbers, etc. Its not a problem if you invite them in, as long as you buy them a drink or food. A couple of LBs have mentioned that they go to Paradise Beer Garden (near the junction of lower Fields and Macarthur Hwy) to shoot pool. So there are three freelancer places to check out. I keep my extra Philippine Pesos for my next trip there. But for some one not returning to the Phils I recommend: 1 Change your PHP pesos to your home currency before departing 2 If you are going to Thailand, I've found a couple of places (Bangkok, Pattaya) that offer reasonable exchange rate from PHP pesos to Thai Baht

I have my new keyboard, YEAH! Phillies is a great spot, I sit by the rail and flirt with ladyboys. Some times I take one and some times not. Some gracefully accept a "Not tonight hon" and some become a little aggressive. One ladyboy started sendng me txts "Why you not take me? I ask my Muslim friend to spank your face!" I haven't seen that one for awhile, so hopefully she went back to the province. There were ladyboys working in Nana, as of August 2015. I only went there once, I bought a LB a drink and she ordered a double lady drink San Mig Apple for 300 pesos, lol.

Hey buddy yeah non stop bus, 114 pesos in a metered taxi from the airport to Pasay bus terminal, then 150 pesos to Dau terminal at Angeles, then a 8 peso jeepny ride to Macarthur and Fields :) I'm really traveling light, so I had my luggage with me on the bus. I have checked my bag on the bus before, but, yeah, its best to keep your stuff within sight at all times.

$1,500 is very doable TC, there is a huge difference between being a two week millionaire and a long term expat. Any fool can blow 5 to 10k baht per day but 99.9% can not maintain that level of spending for long. I've spent as little as $10,000 USD/year and never felt deprived, but I could afford to spend more, it was my choice. Just keep an adequate reserve, in case you have a medical emergency or exchange rates go against you. PD is a good guy with good value tips, so I heed his advice. I had a couple of nice Thai GFs and they actually saved me money, in that they always worked at regular jobs so I wasn't sponsoring them. I paid for their meals etc when we went out, but they would guide me to inexpensive local restaurants and markets. At the end of the day you can spend as much -or little- as you want. Red wine and steak every night is great- but winter is not. So I skied up :) After seven months in Central and South America, I'd had enough of winter, so I spent about 48 traveling and flew from Montevideo to the Phils, via the USA. Arrived in Manila about 11:30 pm, caught a cab to the Five Star bus terminal in Pasay and arrived in Angeles City about 3 am. I was wound up from traveling, so I pulled up a bar stool at Kokomos and enjoyed a few San Mig Lights. Angeles is really slow and a few of the ladyboys that hang around Kokomos and Phillies gave me their numbers. Man its good to be back :)

I remember your post and I had a bad experience in the same bar (no violence, just an over bearing LB pestering me for a drink while the owner sat there and ignored the whole situation, playing on his phone.) Now I just vote with my feet and never return. Some bars just have too much business and need to 'discourage' some customers, 555!
