  1. Met her in Temptations many moons ago. I really liked her too. Very much a pro, all business. Was at her place somewhere in Bkk a very long time ago. Nice person, I remember. Yes, met her several times at a friends' house in Bkk some 15 years ago. Cool person. No idea now.
  2. Hi QG. Thanks. Hope you are having a nice stay over there.
  3. Yeah, great fun huh. Hes off to next adventure soon he says, and it's not back to the UK. Hope its Japan. I keep watching it for some reason, he seems to be a decent guy. Hes sure spending money.
  4. Only 30 years of mongering then? Why are you single again? (Just joking, Rom ,better add that).

Right. Off to see Him. Taking the stage in 4 hours. Anything you want me to ask him?
  6. That’s the spirit, PD!
  7. Perhaps one of the most boring ladymen I have ever met. Perhaps shy. Tried to talk to her many times at Baby-Boom to no avail. Most likely she wasn't into me, thats why. She reminded me of Joey Ramone. Taller than me as well. In fairness she had stiff competition from not so shy Nokyung, Atom and Nanny. I'm sure she's a great funny person, I like her looks, and hope you had a good time with her though.
  8. Thanks for the rundown , Rom. I have a feeling we have similar taste and arrived at the scene around the same time some 15-20 years ago, so your report means a lot for me. I gave Bkk a miss the last few trips as I got too much of it about a decade ago. Still have many fond memories and would love to go back one day. Nana shitpits was a lost cause well over 5 years ago. I always liked Patpong, my time in Soi Cowboy was pre Cockatoo days so maybe that soi is still ok. A bit sad reading that last sentence, but I could see the changes going on in Bkk on my last visit which is years ago now. Thanks for the summary. Much appreciated.

I'll try, but yeah, tough one. bbg or Quinn might be of help.
  10. So which is it, do you need proof of vaccine or not? He says you do (or PCR test). I think on Thaiger the other day they said no, no need anymore. Also since its digital application now you can apply for SETV from another country, not necessarily your permanent resident country. Malaysia is his example. Interesting.

Hmmm . Another leg of the Neverending Tour kicked off tonight in Oslo. Not too sure about the setlist. No Murder most foul? Oh well, still beats basically everything else in life except maybe a freebie* from an eager well hung ladyman. I've seen him do Every grain of sand countless times and although I'm a hardcore atheist.. Gotta serve somebody, right? Watching the River Flow Most Likely You Go Your Way and I'll Go Mine I Contain Multitudes False Prophet When I Paint My Masterpiece Black Rider My Own Version of You I'll Be Your Baby Tonight Crossing the Rubicon To Be Alone With You Key West (Philosopher Pirate) Gotta Serve Somebody I've Made Up My Mind to Give Myself to You That Old Black Magic (Johnny Mercer cover) Mother of Muses Goodbye Jimmy Reed (followed by band introductions) Every Grain of Sand As this forum is basically all about money these days, (no money no honey, I've heard in Thailand), I converted and calculated the ticket for tuesday night's show. Its about 4330b. Well worth the money, imo. 5 short times in Patts or 3 in Bkk, about 20 dodgy massages in Jomtien. A farang dinner out at a swanky steakhouse in Thailand. (Not enough in the west, I think). Now if you're merican its ovbiously peanuts. If you are eurotrash its rather hefty, or god forbid briton, its downright fucking expensive. Better save them monies for the electric bill the upcoming winter. Better stop there as discussing energy prices is getting political.
  12. You da man, Rom! Thanks for posting! Don't worry about the gold paint, I just really appreciate you're making the effort sharing with us. I really liked the room in the first set of pics. Reminded me of old trips.

Its about timing, being at he right place the right time which is why I totally get The Beatles greatness for people a bit older than me. They were the first. I was 14 when London Calling and The River came out , now thats timing. Life changing moments for me. Obviously too young to experience Dylans entrance. It is and it's because we're old. Some absolutely great new bands out there for the kids, not for us. I have tried this last summer but its just annoying and exhausting. Too loud, too in your face.

Have to agree. Although I was a fan early 90's , went to several concerts, but their stuff haven't and very well. Same with Bon Jovi, huge fan around the New Jersey-album , but today, pass.

I assumed you liked them, I’m sorry. Your username most likely played a part. ‘She loves you yeah yeah yeah’ ,who can ignore such brilliant piece of lyrics. Yes!!!!!! Genesis= Eternal Boredom. Peter Gabriel equally boring. Metallica? Means nothing to me. Loud metal band my friends growing up did better. You’re spot on,sith. A lot of these band you were supposed to like because they had so much cred. The list is long, Nirvana most definitely being one of those. As for Bono and Sting… don’t get me started (The Police was a pretty good band , but Sting and his pretentious persona is another story). Careful bbg, you’re on thin ice but as PDiddy mentioned Mr. Presley who more commonly went by another nickname I guess we’re still good. Here’s the great Phil Lynott with his tribute to him that still holds , imo.

Just read back some great post by Lefty, Siam Sam and KenW in this thread. If KenW only knew what was coming 4 years after his post. Hope he did get to experience it.

One of the most overrated albums and bands ever. Maybe we can have a thread about this; most overrated bands. If it gets heated it’s already in the right section. The Beatles (Sorry, bbg). The Who Nirvana The Doors
  19. I’ve seen and experienced drivers in many parts of the world and can safely say Thailand is the worst. Vietnam and Paris, France honorable mentions.
  20. No, not really. It's weak against other currencies as well. You won't see many sextourists from Sweden in Patts this highseason unless they are tax evading far right voters. Surely there aren't any of that kind there. https://english.news.cn/20220922/fad6dadc1b0448118509bc5fe1d4b406/c.html STOCKHOLM, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Swedish krona fell to a historic low against the U.S. dollar on Thursday. For a brief, the krona traded at 0.090 dollars, its lowest ever, against the backdrop of staggering inflation and a string of domestic and international rate hikes, TT news agency reported. The krona weakened despite Tuesday's decision by the Swedish central bank (Riksbank) to raise its main policy rate by 100 basis points to 1.75 percent. https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/banking-finance/us-dollar-firm-ahead-of-fed-swedish-krona-not-helped-by-rate-rise US dollar firm ahead of Fed, Swedish krona not helped by rate rise THE US dollar remained strong near a 2-decade high versus major peers on Tuesday (Sep 20) as investors held firm in expectation of another aggressive rate hike by the Federal Reserve (Fed), the centrepiece of a week packed with central bank meetings. Sweden’s central bank set the tone for the week by raising rates by a full percentage point on Tuesday. The rate hike by the Riksbank was larger than analysts had expected, causing the Swedish krona to briefly spike against the euro and US dollar. It failed to hold on to that strength however, and the euro extended recent gains, climbing to a fresh 6 month top of 10.846 kronas. The US dollar also climbed 0.36 per cent to 10.82 kronas.
