  1. One of the best, if not the best ever. I´ve watched all 4 seasons , and season 5 just started.
  2. I gave up on Batman after Michael Keaton and Clooney fucked it up. I realize the Nolan trilogy is probably better, so i should give em a shot. The reports that it´s dark and grim appeals to me.
  3. Coppola Scorsese Coen bros Alejandro González Iñárritu I can't decide who of these would make top 6. Michael Cimino. One crazy fu***r. Bergman. Alan Parker. Angel Heart, what great move that is., Mississippi burning David Lynch Wes Anderson. Anyone watched Moonrise Kingdom yet? Tarantino Eastwood Sofia Coppola: Hard to ignore Lost in translation. I love it. I liked Somewhere too.
  4. I agree, Hefe. When in Thailand I've given up. They only get Avengers, Ironman and Avatar, type of movies i´m totally indifferent to. I sat through MIssion Impossible 4 this last spring, and it was just shit. If that wasn't bad enough, my lb friend took me to see Underworld 4 in 3D. Good grief...it sucked. After the Godfather movies , 21 grams is probably my favorite. Sean Penn and, Naomi Watts, Benicio Del Toro are just brilliant. I know what you mean, this movie will stay with you for a long time..
  5. True romance is great. Walken is God. ( not that i believe there is a god, but Walken would do). The above mentioned scene with Hopper and Walken is a classic. Walken playing russian roulette in Deerhunter (shivers). An old favorite of mine that might pass as obscure is "Bad lieutenant" from 1992. Directed by Abel Ferrara. Starring Harvey Keitel in maybe his best role ever. Great movie. In recent years Alejandro González Iñárritus movies are my favorites. 21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful ( ouch , this one is painfully depressing and for some reason didn't make it to cinemas in Thailand) and Amores perros. DT, i agree about the new Sherlock Holmes movies. Boring. But...best movie ever? Godfather 2. Hands down
  6. Whats that? I don't know about the situation in Thailand, but in west europe human trafficking from east is huge, and its not pretty. Some really nasty criminal networks running whorehouses. Usually from ex Yugoslavia or Russia. These girls do not come on their own free will, they´re sexslaves.
  7. I feel so illiterate. Ive only read 3 of these. Catcher in the rye, On the road and, Grapes of wrath. I first read On the road in my 20´s, and it was fantastic. Read it again 3-4 years ago and .....yikes! Funny how your perspectives changes as years go by. I couldn't understand what i thought was so great about it when i read it 20 years ago. Could it be age?
  8. You pakwan you, Tel . You're the hansum man around here!! Willie, i lost a filling when in Los, went to a dentist on Pattaya Klang, got a new one for 1200 baht. Great i thought. Came home and after a few weeks i got the worst toothache i´ve ever had. Went to a dentist, did X ray and all. Inflammation in the pulp!! This little detail the MickeyMouse dentist on Pattaya Klang missed. I´m sure there are good dentists in Los, but i happened to pick a lousy one.1200 baht will only get you so far. No Xray included. Took my teerak to pull out a wisdom few weeks later at another dentist, and she haven't had any problems so far. 4000 baht. I have no idea what that would cost in europe, but i´d say a lot more..
  9. Had my first root canal filling today for the sweet price of 540 euros. Bargain! Also started take Omeprazole, which is something i should´ve discovered years ago. After only a few days, heartburn and stomach acid is gone. Who says getting old sucks. I love it! (Not).

    Guess Bar Update

Ooo, Baby Catoon. 2 years since i saw her in Kc3. Wow, remember her baby face ? It´s not there anymore. Lbs faces do age quickly. She still looks great though. I can still remember her being 16 , new in Obsessions, cute as a button.

    Levon

Uhh, another case of not being in touch with the rest of the world when in Thailand. I didn't know Levon passed. How sad. Manuel, Danko and now Helm. The Band is one of my favorite bands ever . To watch them on dvd back up a young cocky Dylan in Royal Albert Hall, London, England the year i was born is just.....larger than life. May you rest in peace, Levon. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rP7r12Rg490" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> from the last waltz. They don't make em like this anymore.
  12. Hey DT, what up! Yeah, P´doggs board is a good one. I gave Los a miss last year, but hopefully i´ll be back again. Surely you saw daddy Kahuna?
  13. Yup, it´s a 1954 with the 6-cylinder Blueflame engine. I had a -62 and a -88 too. The 1963 Split Window Coupe is imo the nicest one ever. But my real passion is European classics though. The E-type, aside the Gullwing, maybe the most beautiful car ever made . Had a TR6, Spitfire, Sunbeam Tiger and a Jensen Healey, Jensen Interceptor, the list goes on...oh well, those were the days :)
