  1. The silence about this topic in other forums is deafening. There seems to be a joint effort to not distribute the news. From the news article it seems that Larry was setup by the cops. I bet that normally he never touches the money but the cop shoved it in his hands and Larry being the nice guy didn't refuse but took care of the customer in a gracious way. A lesson for all managers.
  2. I enjoyed episode 4. It continues to be a very fair portrayal of ladyboys. It was a bit annoying to hear "Pattaya" mispronounced so many times in a short period of time. The Thai people always pronounced it correctly but it was like the announcer and other farang weren't listening... (except David said it correctly twice).
  3. Episode 4 just posted on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piwpuRM4YhY
  4. I've watched the three episodes and I like the tone of the program. It's very mature and thoughtful. In the first episode I felt they put too much emphasis on the Sexual Reassignment Surgery, giving the impression that this was the ultimate goal of all ladyboys and without it the ladyboy wasn't really complete. Over the last few years of getting to know ladyboys I've come to the realization that gender and genitalia are independent. You can spot a man or a woman in a crowd and recognize them as man or woman even with their clothes on. It's their look and attitude. Really the genitalia is just something fun to play with to get your partner excited and whether it's vagina or penis is irrelevant to the gender of your partner. So I don't see SRS as being that important. The second episode showed that while there will be transexuals in all countries, the Thai ones are among the most passable to others. That is while transexuals from other countries feel they are women as much as ladyboys, the advantages of ladyboys is that they really appear to be women and that will lead to greater ability to blend in and find boyfriends. In the third episode I wondered why they kept saying that Paeng worked in Bangkok when she worked in Pattaya. Also, as mentioned above, why do some people pronounce Pattaya as Pa-Tie-Ah?? It is spelled พัทยา which is literally Pat-Ya but because it's difficult to go from T to Y they reuse the T and insert a Ta syllable (ทะ), thus making it Pat-Ta-Ya. This same syllable insertion is done with other words as well.
  5. I used to go to Pooks in the late afternoon for a beer and to watch the people go by. There was one girl I used to sit with. I'd get her a drink and occasionally arrange to take her out of the bar later in the evening. One time in the afternoon she was really dragging. She wasn't feeling well and I took pity on her and offered to barfine her so she could go home and rest. She was very happy about that. Another time she was also feeling bad and asked if I could pay her barfine so she could leave. I did so. The next time she asked me to pay her barfine I didn't have a lot of spare cash and I told her that I was sorry but I couldn't do it. She walked away in a huff and hasn't spoken to me since. So beware of where you set the bar with these ladies. If you show any generosity then failing to match that will be taken a sign that you're a cheap bastard (even though you're on par with the normal guy). So ironically if I like a lady and figure that she'll be worth repeating with I try to avoid being generous at all so I can then afford to take her again and again.
  6. I join the others in wishing that the "remember me" checkbox, when you log in, has the same functionality as found in other forums, namely that you remain logged in even if you quit your browser and later restart it. I'm sure this is an option that the forum administrators could enable.
  7. thanks BB. It really helps when you are taking pictures of girls who have been practicing posing for the camera for quite a few years...
  8. here is the rehearsal for today's event
  9. My notes say that on Wednesday at the Central Festival Mall there is some event related to this weekend's Tiffany Pageant. Does anyone have any details on this? I would like to see all the lovelies and I don't have a ticket to the big show..
  10. Just out of curiosity how many of the contestants are pre and how many are post?
  11. When considering whether to tell my friends of my unusual interest I always think of the saying: "You can't unring a bell". And that has kept me from ringing that particular bell. I enjoy going out with my friends searching for GG company (as I like GG's as well) and based on their comments about ladyboys they seem to be at the "they're just boys with dresses" level of understanding. So unless they try some LBs for themselves they will never understand my attraction to them. I know it's going to come out eventually (I've already had a few close calls as LBs I've known are all over Pattaya now) and when it does that's fine. I won't deny it. However there's nothing really to be gained by rushing it as I see it.
  12. It's the strangest thing. Smokers can be intelligent and kind and caring yet turn into complete assholes and smoke in enclosed areas with other people around them. They know full well that they are bothering people around them but there's something miswired in their brain and they feel their right to do what they want is more important than acting like a decent human being. We need a name for this problem with the brain, maybe "smokers blindness". Of course there are lots of smokers who are considerate and only smoke where they won't bother other people, so we can't say that all smokers are bad.
  13. A great show you've probably never heard of is Justified. It stars Timothy Olyphant (from Deadwood - another show you must see) as a marshall fighting crime in Kentucky. While Kentucky is in the eastern US the show feels like a western with justice delivered from the barrel of a gun. Olyphant makes a great hero but there some really really good villains. The writing is excellent, it's a location that's fresh for a crime drama and there is action in every episode. Season 3 is just finishing up. You should start with season 1 to get to know all the crazy characters.
  14. April 4 Bob's birthday party at Stringfellows
  15. maybe you should has asked about her rifle?
  16. The ability to log into a web site and stay logged in has been around since the invention of cookies back in the Netscape days. It's up to the person in charge of the web site software to determine how long a cookie can get you access to the site. I imagine that the administrative interface to the forum software contains switches to control the lifetime of a cookie. So the solution to this problem is in the hands of the admins.
  17. Wednesday March 7 is a Buddha holiday. The sale of alcohol is prohibited so that means many bars and gogos will be closed or operating in stealth mode.
  18. Kim Kardashian has to be feeling pretty good about this news...
  19. I like to get close for the GFE. You can close your eyes or turn off the lights but you can't turn off your sense of smell. So how they smell is important. So seeing a girl smoke in the bar is real turnoff. Smoking is like the triple whammy 1. the stench gets into her gums (where you can taste it as well as smell it), into her hair and clothes. 2. the stench transfers to your pillows so you have to do the laundry or smell it long after she's gone 3. she's destroyed a lot of the nerves she uses for smelling thus crippling her own sense of smell. This means she's not even going to be aware of how bad she smells.
  20. On Tuesday March 6 Stringfellows is throwing itself a birthday party. I don't know what's planned but for past parties they've had music and food outside on soi 13/1 as well as inside.
  21. I think that a major attraction of Thailand for Russians is that they don't need a lot of paperwork to come here (I think they can come in with no visa just like the rest of us). Secondly many Russians have profited by the change in political structure of Russia and they need somewhere to dump their funds. Buying property in Thailand is safer than leaving the money in a Russian bank for the government to see. But still, why do they come to Pattaya? The beaches are bad, you can't swim in the water. And there is sleeze everywhere, which is great for us but not for a family. Why don't the Russians returning to the motherland tell their comrades to stay away from Pattaya and go to Phuket or Chiang Mai or anywhere but Pattaya?? If I ever find a friendly Russian I'll ask him the simple question: "what are you doing here?"
  22. I remember Lay. I barfined her soon after she started working at Ezy and she's the only girl I've taken back to my hotel who failed the ID test and was rejected (she wasn't even Barely Legal).... And this after I'd spend a good amount of time at Ezy verifying that she was of age.. I didn't check the ID myself (I should have I know but I find that it oftens ruins the illusion). So now that she's legal I may finally be able to finish what I started.
  23. Who's the one doing underwear ads targeted at gays? case closed.
