  1. I read that Pook has purchased Club Blu on Soi Buakaow and LK Metro for a cool 15 million. What will it turn into?????
  2. I believe that's Nancy. I would agree that she may not be "ripe" yet... but I've never checked.
  3. I've always felt that Jen now working at La Bamba is one of the most beautiful LBs ever....but she's a dedicated smoker so I've always stayed away from her. I like the GFE and the stench of a smoker just ruins it..
  4. Yes, I was thinking that someone on this forum watching this thread would have to do the uploading, making it unlisted. Then unless BSkyB were reading this thread it could not be found...
  5. seems one way to share via youtube is to put it up as "unlisted" and then share links here... unless someone at BSkyB is a member here they'll never find it .
  6. I was told that to get the new faster 3G on AIS that I'd have to register by dialing *988 and then giving my passport number.. I did that and they said that I'd get an SMS when it was online... I still haven't gotten the SMS..
  7. Sounds fishy to me. Who was communicating with ATC while the pilots were sleeping? Surely not the stewardesses..
  8. there are 54 footnotes to the paper so this isn't just some crazy opinion piece. I know that in order to dismiss it you've read it and have problems with some of the references. Could you detail the specific problems you have with the paper? we would all like to learn something.
  9. Here's a quite lengthy paper on the rise and types of corruption under Chavez.... http://www.scribd.com/doc/13673498/-Corruption-Mismanagement-and-Abuse-of-Power-in-Hugo-Chavezs-Venezuela-Cato-Development-Policy-Analysis-No-2-
  10. Not doubt you Chavez lovers were equally sad when Gaddafi was killed. Hugo said of him: "We shall remember Gaddafi our whole lives as a great fighter, a revolutionary and a martyr." I'm sure you'll cry a bit when Fidel Castro finally kicks off (if he's really still alive). He did so much for the people of Cuba. That's a regular paradise.
  11. Good Riddance to bad Rubbish. Burn in Hell for all eternity Hugo.
  12. There there are other times that they pull over only Thais and give them pee tests. I'd rather be pulled over to show my license than pulled over and give a cup to pee in.
  13. Two other scams: 1. this one has been done by Nigerians in Bangkok. Some guy will approach you and tell you about something very valuable he'll sell you for very little. He'll give it to you to look over. When you return it to him he'll claim that what you returned is not what he gave you and is in fact worthless. His big scary buddies will show up and ask for what he gave you and if you won't give it up, they want the equivalent in money or they'll mess you up. So never take anything from a stranger to check out. 2. the ATM scam. many variants. one is that your card gets stuck in the machine (due to something the bad guy put in the slot earlier). you stand there trying to get it out. A friendly person comes up and suggests that you try entering your pin again as that will usually fix it. You enter your pin while the bad guy watches. Of course this does nothing. You go off to report the problem. The bad guy pulls out your card (since he's knows it's being held by a u-shaped piece of plastic). With the card out now, and knowing your pin, he just puts the card back and steals your money. so... never enter your pin with some stranger nearby... no matter how friendly he is. And in general cover your hand when entering your pin... there are other scams that involve card duplication but they all require your pin number.
  14. I find it useful to determine who the LB I'm sitting with lives with. They will usually allow you to switch to their roomie since either the roomie owes them money or they share somewhat in the profits at work. If the roomie is hotter I usually will take them up on this offer.. Even if it's not a roommate if you get a sense that an LB is steering you toward another LB it's likely a case of money owed.. so you'll do her a favor by taking the other one (and you'll do yourself a favor if she's hotter..)
  15. I've got a valid 1-2-call sim and when I come to Thailand I turn on a data package by just calling one of the phone numbers given here http://www.ais.co.th/mobileinternet/en/internet-package/#2 I used to go for the 800/mo unlimited package but found that I really didn't use that much 3G as I'm usually around wifi.. So now I select the 350/mo 1gb package and never come close to using that much in a month. I need to use a "volume based plant" rather than a "time based plan" since the iPhone is always connected to the internet to support its notification system. Note that when you select a package they subscribe you to that package so AIS will continue to debit your account for the subscription amount automatically as long as you have a sufficient money on your card. So the secret is to make sure your balance is low enough when you leave Thailand..
  16. Posted on the LBFamous facebook page yesterday..
  17. The same can be said for this forum, the newspaper, your cell phone (if you have one), the TV... If you never used them in your life you wouldn't miss them (as that presupposes that you once had them) but there is no doubt that there is information you will miss out on. The consequence of missing out on information is making decisions based on incomplete information. Certainly we can't follow all news sources -- there are just too many -- but what's happening in America (at least) is that one political party (the Republicans) are making ignorance a point of pride. They are quick tell you that Obama's speech was terrible and proudly admit that they never heard it. Intellectuals are evil to Republicans as are the 'fact check nazis' who point out lies told by their candidates. Certainly if you drink the Facebook Kool Aide and put your whole life online on Facebook you are putting yourself and your future in danger. This is not a requirement however. You can get Facebook account and not put a single piece of information on it (and even use a fake name) and that just gives you access to a world of information. It's like putting a special web browser on your computer that allows you to visit links that are otherwise invisible.
  18. You probably said the same things about pagers and then cell phones. Each modern communication device also takes away some of your freedom. But eventually you got a cell phone and now the person without one is the odd man out, the person you can't keep in touch with. Thus it is with Facebook accounts now, due to the fact that Facebook requires that you have a Facebook account to view the contents of a Facebook account (this requirement was no accident). So I'm here to tell you that you can have a Facebook account and still continue to hate Facebook. I do. But nowdays the person without a Facebook account is like a person without a cell phone -- cut off from a major source of information.. up to you of course.
  19. I'm just a novice at Thai but this looks like Morlam to me..
  20. It does seem like Dog is really a bail bondsman and thus is chasing his own clients, not looking to earn the bounty from some other bail bondsman. But "Dog the Bail Bondsman" doesn't sounds so exciting.. There is a long history of bounty hunters in the US. These guys can get away with detaining other citizens for periods of time (whereas if a non-bounty hunter did this it would be called kidnapping). I wonder if the lack of bail bond organizations in other countries is due to laws that would not allow bounty hunters to exist.
  21. What is the system in the UK? Do you have the idea of "innocent until proven guilty" that compels the courts to let you free until you're proven guilty (unless there's a high probability of your not showing up to answer for the charges)?
  22. She wrote it down for me once.. but I've forgotten what she wrote and I've lost the paper. We do know that in Thai syllables that end in a consonant can only end in these sounds: n, ng, m, y, w, k, p, t Thus her name cannot be "guitar" as that ends with an 'r' sound. I think that her name is close to 'Keta'. Next month I'll ask her again in person (if no one beats me to it).
