  1. No shortage of happy hours around town...
  2. Looks like femboys dancing at Miami was short lived; stopped by a few times last week, and the femboys are gone. Too bad... It was a pleasant afternoon diversion.
  3. Nice find! Should add that tomorrow (Monday, October 27) is the volleyball party at TJ's!
  4. Junta refers to a military controlling a government after seizing control of it by force; nothing more. A junta is not necessarily a bad thing; in fact, in Thailand's case we see a benevolent junta. It's easy to forget that just six months ago, peaceful protesters were being attacked by hand grenade throwing gangs that were paid for by the previously elected government! If that's democracy, you can keep it!
  5. It's ridiculous to think Prayuth can change *everything* overnight. Thus far, the junta has made great progress, and I'm still pro junta!
  6. One fine day I shall get around to documenting the event in a trip report, until then, when you think of Twister in Thailand, think of squirt guns filled with baby oil. Oh, how I miss the parties at the Nana Hotel...
  7. I use an alias just because it's easier for them to say. I cringe every time I see a guy with a name like 'Ulysses' getting frustrated trying to teach his name to a Thai. Thais use nicknames anyway, and wouldn't care if a farang did.
  8. Thought I might have been looking in the wrong places. Did a pretty extensive search last week and found precious little. Still, one of the fun things about exploring is that one never knows what they'll find.
  9. At Hollywood Inn, one can rent a room ST or LT. Not exactly the Ritz, but a short walk to the room!
  10. As long as I'm enjoying the entertainment, I'm happy to keep buying drinks.
  11. Happened to notice a very hot LB entering Miami a little after 2PM yesterday. Unfortunately, prior commitments kept me from investigating further. Either a coincidence, or Miami is picking up its game. Will try to get back there in the next couple days...
  12. Maybe I'm just getting old, but The House isn't a bar I'd go to for the music. Having said that, I've been there a few times, and the music has yet to drive me out of the bar. Maybe it was because the music was being played at a reasonable level, or the staff did a well enough job keeping me stocked and entertained. I'm not sure. But for now The House has earned a place late in my rotation.
  13. Another example of the Pattaya police department's fine detective work.
  14. I suspect more prevarications from the Pattaya police department; after all, The NCPO are making great strides cleaning up Bangkok and Phuket, and haven't found it necessary to crackdown on LBs in either location. Another example of the Pattaya police' dog and pony show, IMO. It's a good bet that the NCPO will be giving Pattaya some "special attention" in a few months, if this is the best the Pattaya police can do.
  15. Screw the UN. Things are better here than they've been in a long time.
  16. I'm with pdogg on prices. But there are a few that I might tip above those rates if the service is good. Usually hit Soi Cowboy twice a week, and don't have a problem getting girls to go for 1k THB ST. But I stay away from the coyotes.
  17. With regard to cracking down on the freelancers: The simple truth is that it's easy to do (and Thais do like easy), and the police don't have to worry about upsetting someone who might actually be paying protection money. Additionally, It's the people loitering that cause problems. Girls busy in their bars, not so much. I still enjoy a stroll down the esplanade in the mornings, afternoons, or early evenings. But for the last few years, it just hasn't been as much fun after midnight.
  18. Yeah, although it wasn't mentioned in the article above, last week General Prayuth actually mentioned the jetski operators in one of his nightly speeches, and talked about the problems they are causing for Thailand's tourism. The Pattaya police responded by closing down "unregistered" jetski operators, and they turned one of their offices into a "mediation room." IMO, a private room where the police and jetski operators can collude to rip off tourists isn't needed. Requiring jetski operators to carry insurance, and more transparency in the police force is what's needed here!
  19. My guess is the police are just trying to make a show so the military will think Pattaya is under control. Recently Pattaya has received a lot of bad press in the local news due to jet ski scams and that LB going after a tourist with her stiletto. General Prayuth seems to be pro-tourist, and it could be that if he takes a special interest in Pattaya, the police are thinking it will upset the income stream for many a BIB.
  20. The website's photos may not be up to date, but really what does it matter? Having visited just the other day, I can tell you that there are some good looking LBs on Obsessions Pattaya's latest roster; however, if you don't find one to your liking, just check bin and move on to the next bar. That's the cool thing about Thailand.
  21. The more time they spend in the beauty shop, the more time I have to scout out new places and faces!
  22. It don't get much better than that!
  23. The days are dwindling to a precious few. Any updates?
