At 2.30am, and a lull in the downpour, i decided to head for home. Rat-u-thit Road was awash....... I decided to be a cleverdick and not try to get down Middle Road to the hospital juncion, and turned right instead at the top of soi sansabai, turning left into soi Banzaan. Suddenly, despite being on the bike, i was knee deep in water. Fukkit! The bike died, and i pushed it 50 metres to dry land and optimistically pressed the Start button. To my amazement it coughed into life! I praised all the Japanese Gods and Mr Honda is beatified in my mind, and i was able to get home without further ado. I cursed that i hadn't dressed "Australian" though. Swim trunks and flipflops would have been much more suitable. As it is, i've probably ruined a good pair of shoes and a pair of linen trousers! Wednesday Night Despite it bucketing down for most of the day, i made it to the bar relatively easily. Going home later was a different matter!
