I agree……you have not seen anything in Thailand! All you get here is a few random drunks. Magaluf!! Holy shit. Once and never again I was staying at a friends villa at the north end of the island…..stayed in Magaluf itself just for the last night before early flight home the next morning. The dates were "Glasgow Fair" - late July, when most of Glasgow heads to cheap sunny destinations in Spain to get as shit-faced as they can for a week. Half of those people are Rangers supporters, the other half Celtic supporters (soccer/football for the non-Brits on the forum) In our 20 minute taxi drive along the main beach road heading to our hotel, we must have seen about 6 pitch battles going on outside various bars/restaurants/cafes………and this was breakfast time!!! Thailand is a tranquil oasis compared to other places!!

Let me give everyone an alternative opinion. I met up with Alex a few days ago in Bangkok, and it was ME that took her to Check In Bar after we went to see a movie together. She was very hesitant to even go there, because she really liked Darkside and did not want to piss you off because she knows you know June. She had nothing but good things to say about you and your bar. She had every opportunity to trash you during the evening, but she did not….totally the opposite in fact. She told me she was no longer at Darkside, and I suggested she talk to June. Again, she was VERY hesitant about this idea. I simply said "If you have finished at Darkside for whatever reason, why should you not talk to other bars", which seems totally reasonable to me. Maybe she had talked to June previously, I don't know……but she was VERY uncomfortable with the idea, that's for sure. Look at what she has posted earlier on this thread…..all totally supportive of Darkside, encouraging guys to visit the other Filipina girls working there She gave a 100% glowing report to me about you personally and your bar, and look at the positive things she has said about Darkside on this thread. I spent 8 weeks in Sabang a few years back. The diving is maybe not world class, but not far off. Much better than Phuket for sure. The best part is that there are 30 dive sites within a 10-15 minute boat ride, so you actually return to your resort in between each dive.....none of this leaving your hotel at 7am and take a 2 hour boat ride and have 2 dives max. You can do 4 dives plus night dives, with a coffee in between each of them, each day if you want to. I stayed at 2 different places: Atlantis Hotel/Resort (as mentioned by someone else) ...website is not working as I type this Very classy place. They also used to have a second resort in Dumaguette, and they can arrange to split your holiday between the 2 I think they also now have 2 live aboard dive boats as well Steps Garden Resort http://www.stepsgarden.com/index.html 2 mins walk from Atlantis Half the price of Atlantis, little bungalows built into the hillside overlooking the bay....I had a coffee on my balcony a couple times, and just stayed there all day admiring the view and missed diving! Sabang itself is not that big, very easy to walk around. Whitebeach is quite a distance, and I have no idea about public transport to get there......but the beach is superb. Sabang is really gravel, not a white sandy beach Highly recommended if you are divers, but a pain in the ass to get to. Don't try and do it yourself, get the minibus organised by the resort.

But last time I was in Mango Square in the very centre of Cebu, the bars and clubs were still open at 3am when I stumbled out! The malls in Manila maybe open a little later than Cebu, but not much. Burgos St go go bars in Manila open very late. Angeles is the closest thing to a full on adult entertainment destination you will find in the Phils. The first time I went there, I assumed the gogos closed about the same time as Thailand...2am/3am. Wrong!!!! Me to waitress in Dollhouse: "Don't these girls ever get tired....they have been dancing for a long time" Waitress to me: "That is the morning shift team sir....it is 7h30am, Dollhouse is open 24 hours, you should go home for breakfast now...you are shitfaced!!" Surely it is about the number of dollars at end of the month, not the number of customers - that is not the same thing. What would you rather (hypothetically) do?.....shag 20 people like me at 4000 a pop, or shag 60 people like me at 1000 a pop? And what gets you more dollars at the end of the month? And you build a "difficult to get" image at the same time, which attracts even more people to try, which will include more 4000 a pop punters, etc, etc Maybe she is smarter than you think

I agree the pool is OK, but not fantastic.....and the big downer is no gym as far as I can see Prices depend on the position of the unit. High floor, Walking St side are higher than low (or high) floor on Naklua side. Don't see any point in staying at this place if the view out your window is the Hilton Hotel and Central Festival mall!! It looks like there are 3 or 4 agents in the building that sell/rent units there. I assume Dancewatchers is one of them, and everyone says good things about them. But they are not interested in any kind of conversation.....they just say "look at website and send in your deposit". Does anyone have any experience of these companies? ie who has the best units, reliable/trustworthy
