Looks like the pints and jugs are the same price as they were before Covid. I was expecting them to have gone up by 10 or 20 Baht by now. And the € just went over 38 today, it was 32 last time I was in town. Happy days:)

It’s a reasonably priced semi outdoor bar and restaurant out on the water at the end of Beach Road and before you enter Walking Street. Not sure if the bar complex is still there in front of the entrance. Great option for a meet up over drinks and food without too many distractions except the sea and city lights :)

At least something hasn’t changed much. Yea it might well have been that summer, as it was the only time I have ever been in Pattaya in May and June. Time to relive the good times again shortly now ;)

Excellent, although I don’t think I spent as much time in it last trip as I used to do. This sorta ties in with the music tread as they tended to play good sounds from our era:) Roll on November…

Absolutely not, man these remind me of my teenage years hoping something good would come on the radio. I’d always know when the oldies shows would be on and arrange my free time around them. Then came along the Walkman, mind blowing. Literally taking it to the streets :)

A lot of my Spotify play list is top heavy 70s also. Those sounds bring me back to my childhood and hanging out on the beach with neighbours in the summers of the mid to late 70s. How about a bit of Player :)

I usually slap this on while strolling along Beach Road in the late afternoon. While it’s about Rio, the relaxing beach sentiment is appropriate for many places I reckon.

Two excellent tunes Syl, I had Summer Breeze on my Spotify playlist already, but had forgotten about Diamond Girl, added it just now. Ideal listening while strolling along the shoreline in Wongamat at sunset in a few weeks :)

Not been there since this mini trip report so shame to hear it has lost its character. It was always a good final stop off in Cambodia before heading back across the border to Thailand.

Good to get a first hand account of how things currently are on the ground Rom. I have never been to the PIs, so it was the Thailand parts that had my interest mostly. Having said that, it’s enjoyable to read about a guy’s adventures in general in SE Asia and the various possibilities available. Thanks for the wonderful effort, much appreciated.

Well someone seems to do it, and I heard on a travel show once that they advised to clean cookies and cache before finally purchasing a flight. It worked for me a few times when booking over the years, on sites that give various flight options such as Skyscanner.

I know on flight sites, once the cookies record what you were looking at, when you go back the price is always higher. Probably the same here. Maybe try a different browser or clear the cookies and cache on the browser you are using and see does it make much difference.

I think many of the guys who have been meeting up over the past 5 or 6 years now use any of the chat apps, Line or WhatsApp mostly, to organise meet ups, and thus bypassing open boards for the most part. The changing face of the scene alas.

Yeah the sore throat was the one thing that made it stand out from a regular cold. For a few days it felt like a big, uncomfortable lump was half blocking my swallow.

Just coming out my my first known Covid dose. It wasn’t too bad, more like a head cold really. Not sure how bad I’ve had been without the 4 jabs as protection mind. Better to get it now rather than a week before flying for sure.
