With the recent advent of the "Baby Boom and Sensations VIP Card" certain alliances already seem to be forming, with some casual alliances apparently un-forming. In my fourth year of living in Pattaya, Bangkok is on my 'can't be bothered list'. I had a 3-day trip there 3 years ago and couldn't wait to get back to Pattaya. Not been back since and no plans to do so, not even annually when en-route to the Airport. Although, in fairness, both my circumstances and desire are not what they once were. Both Sensations and Baby Boom with their pristine newness show all the hallmarks of being around for some time to come, but there's perhaps a hint of fingers-crossed for Baby Boom in the long-term due to its visitor numbers. On the other side of the coin the fairly recent doubling in size of 69 Bar brings with it both double key-money and double rent. Frayed relationships and easily bruised feelings and sensitivities along with the hike in ongoing running costs without a doubling in punter numbers may have their crosses to bear. Having visited 69 Bar just once (a few weeks ago) since the extension was apparently finished despite it only being less than a 10 minute walk away it was disappointing to see that the works remained incomplete. Mis-matched ceilings and floors still to be done and it looked tatty, but that lack of finish may in itself be a sign of things to come. No point throwing good money after bad, I suppose. Perhaps only one decent night per week is enough after all. I suspect the Pool Parties and the LBWVB will both continue, but there's only so much punter money available and with neither event having the monopoly on all bars something may give. As always, when it suits their agenda, certain bar owners will cling to the coat-tails of the more popular bar owners in an attempt to maintain their Pattaya footprint and there's no better way to do that than participating in an event. Sensations has its planned rooftop pool area still to come. Although I personally won't be taking a dip in it Scott & Paeng's cream will continue to rise beyond the reach of others way out on top. Some venues you never quite envisage ever closing, especially the ones you can't remember ever not being there. So even though I was only an occasional visitor it was sad to see the demise of Stringfellows after all these years. I have many fond memories of the venue, it was the cornerstone of drive-thru ladyboy sleaze. Hopefully Mike White's Bar (next to the old Baby Boom) will do well. Smaller venues do have a place in the scene and a definite appeal too, which is one of the reasons I like Lita Bar. Although I don't go out all that often here in Pattaya, besides Josephine Tan I haven't seen a Filipino in what seems like ages. I don't miss them. Maybe visas aren't as easy for them these days either. After all, they are foreigners too.

I agree with Jim. The hottest girl in the room can turn into the ugliest in a heartbeat if the attitude stinks. Many things depend on what you're looking for. If it's ST then I am more than happy with a hot body, particularly the legs. But if she's wearing flat shoes or jeans it doesn't matter how good she looks or how hot her legs are I am not interested in them wearing that attire. A good body can over-rule a not-so-perfect face. Personally I reckon 100's upon 100's of potential customers walked straight past Koyo7 without ever realising there was a ladyboy bar at the top of those escalators. I remember finding it almost by accident only to return the next day with a camera, chatting with Koyo, then taking photos of its location and the girls. That was around the same time Famous Bar was under construction. Koyo7 felt a bit clinical initially when I first started going there, but over time, once the lighting became more subdued and its popularity grew, it was a very good venue. Location-wise, sitting on that busy street corner which is almost permanently packed with tourists passing between Beach Road and Walking Street made it a great location on the map, but not in reality. Much like the Pattaya Beer Garden. Fine and dandy once you're there, but irritating to get to.

I use an internet cafe when I need something printing-out, which is usually once a year. On those annual visits it should take no more than 5 minutes, but inevitably the PC's OS is setup in Thai, including the browser. After I've eventually logged into my email and printed off my three sheets of shit I want to delete those personal files from the cache. Not necessarily as easy as it sounds on one of Johnny foreigner's locked-down boxes. I know it's Thailand and all that, but you'd think they'd have the common sense to setup one or two computers properly for the farang with proper languages on it. Exactly 24 hours ago Pdogg and myself were just about to leave the opening night at Katoeys are Us. I was there for 3 hours and had a really enjoyable time. Spent B99,800 less than someone else did for a night out Reports elsewhere don't seem particularly positive about the venue. Complaining about lighting, music too loud, bar fine prices and the fact that there was a mix of ladyboys and GG's causing it to fail in terms of living up to its name. It is so easy to complain, but complaints following an opening night is being quite naive and short-sighted. New venues often struggle for full staff occupancy immediately, these things take time. Better to fill up the numbers with GG's rather than nobody. Even so, having a mixed venue where the ladyboys are so easily identifiable from the GG's is a good thing, in my opinion, given its location. Soi Diamond also has the added benefit of never having to set foot in Walking Street if you don't want to, which is a big plus for me. Music levels, barfine costs and lights in people's eyes. It is considered a Walking Street venue after all so prices will reflect that. At B800 it is not something I would ever dream of paying, but compared to other agogos in the area the barfine is not unreasonable. Spinning lights in the eyes are a small adjustment away, if customers were to mention it. It didn't bother me but I noticed it. Music was loud but nothing like Marine levels. Similar aspect to PD's pics as I was sat next to him. Tokky (on the right) was the only ladyboy I knew, but there were numerous cute ones there.

There have been some terrific responses from various different angles already in this thread and I can see and understand both the merits and disadvantages of acquiring your cock online, or from within a bar setting. Replies so far seem to be more in response to visiting the bar in the hopes of meeting the farang owner. Looking at things from a slightly different angle ... Would you be more likely to visit a particular bar specifically knowing the previous farang owner no longer had anything to do with the bar and would almost certainly not be there. In other words, does his presence actually put you off going? Bearing in mind all the girls are pretty much available to meet for encounters via means other than actually visiting their respective bars and paying for ladydrinks and barfines while you line that owner's pockets etc., if you had a mind to do so. Looking forward to the New Sensations opening party tomorrow night and I wish the Sensations team continued success.
