rxpharm
It's that time of the year again, Miss International Queen 2011 will be held on Nov 4/11 at the Tiffany Theatre in Pattaya. It sounds like they have 13 contestants this year - if you check the press conference videos below in part 2, they show some of the contestant photos. Miss Venezuela looks hot! There will also be a live broadcast on Thai TV Channel 9.

bumblebee
Just found this on the website. "The glitzy talent competition 1st round will be on Monday, October 31st , 2011 at Tiffany's Show theatre and the glitzy talent competition final round will be on Wednesday, November 2nd , 2011 at Central Festival Pattaya Beach. The glitzy talent competition is limited to only 3 minute. Obscene language, material and/or prop are not allowed and will be automatically disqualified. No refund of the application fee will apply in such case." Could be a photo op if it is open to the public.
rxpharm
Some more contestant photos from Miss Ripley's Popular Internet Vote. There are 25 contestants, and some firsts - contestants from China, Russia, Nigeria (although she lives in UK), Lebanon, Cuba and Willis and Fortuna (never heard of the place!). This upcoming week there will be many activities, some free to the public. For those in Pattaya, keep your eyes open and cameras ready! rxpharm
I was able to get my flight changed to make it in for the contest. Unfortunately the only tickets left were for the balcony seats, which made it difficult to get good shots of the faces, since they were looking down at the judges on the main floor. So without further ado, here are some of the photos from the contest. The first photo is MIQ 2010, Mini from Korea doing an opening number. Followed by two photos of contestant no. 1, Yasmin Dream from Brazil. Then one photo of Sahara from Nigeria (but living in the UK). She was first runner up, and is very tall, well over 6' tall in heels. Last two photos of no. 3, Mariane Arguelles first of two from Philippines.

Good to see the contest is catching on. I was in the balcony by choice in front row seats a couple of years ago and except for just a few rows the balcony was empty but I suppose it's a tv event that can be quite successful even if there's not a big live audience. She was 2nd runner up. There was a nice story about the contest in the Nation, which gave some background on her. Her parents separated when she was young. She was given up for adoption and grew up in Manila, Philippines.

pdogg
I know these sort of contests are not everyones cup of tea, but it is quite interesting to see the range of ts coming together in this contest. Three of no. 5, Nong Sammy from Thailand, the eventual winner My teerak, as with many ladyboys, enjoy beauty pageants be it ladies or ladyboys. But by far her favorite is Miss International Queen as she loves seeing ladyboys from throughout the world. We did go and see it live a couple years ago, I picked what I thought were great seats, front row balcony center. But I felt squeezed in and though I could have moved to inferior seats where I could stretch out, i wanted to keep the good seats for her. I like watching on the Telly with my favorite part being the extemporaneous response to a judge's question near the end. If a poised lady or ladyboy can speak confidently in Spanish it sounds great! The eventual winner is quite the stunner. Although the judges in paegants often show favoritism, if there's a home court advantage here it's not due to the refs but rather the Thais being used to the food, heat, and speaking the language. The sponsors don't want a Thai winning every year as it would make the international aspect somewhat pointless. Pic 1 in post Post 23 I find interesting in that it appears you can see her pubic hair through her bikini bottoms. But since I don't see that in other pics I suppose it is shadows of some sort.
