Flying Europe To Phuket

Recommended Posts

As of this week Etihad has a daily flight to Phuket from Abu Dhabi.

Avoiding Bangkok saves lots of travel time.

The layovers in Abu Dhabi tend to be quite short.  For example, only 90 minutes when flying from Manchester.

If you are booking by using the Etihad website then please help support LBR by using the links on our sister website, Asia Hotel and Travel.  It's the exact same fare for you, but helps us out and is quite appreciated.   :hi:

The good thing about that service is you can book the return Flight from Bangkok thus starting your Holiday in Phuket and then Fly to either Pattaya or Bangkok and even take in Koh Samui too for a few days with Bangkok Airways (HKT - USM - UTP or BKK)

You can do it the other way round and end your Holiday in Phuket, then fly home B)

From Manchester you can always use Cathay Pacific to go to Phuket (via Hong Kong with a 1 hour layover) and then return from Bangkok (via Hong Kong with a 2 hour 10 minute layover) to Manchester

Considering you take off from Manchester at 12 Noon and arrive Phuket the next day at 11-35am ( 16 hours 35 minutes journey time) and the return leg is Bangkok 19-10pm, arriving Manchester at 06-20am the next day ( 18 hours 10 minutes journey time) the times are great and the price of £575 is very good value imho

The Etihad Flights from Manchester are indeed a 90 minute layover outward to Phuket via Abu Dhabi ( journey time 14 hours 55 mins) departing Manchester at 20-05pm arriving Phuket at 18-00pm the next day, the return leg from Bangkok is 02-15am landing in Manchester the same day at 14-25pm with a 4 hour 10 minute layover in Abu Dhabi (journey time 19 hours 10 mins), the price currently for these Flights are £543 and for January 2015, the added bonus is that you get a 30kg baggage allowance + 7kg hand luggage with Etihad

You can get a shorter layover on the return journey of 2 hours 20 minutes ( journey time 17 hours 40 minutes) from Phuket at 20-25pm or from Bangkok at 19-50pm( 3 hour layover & 18 hours 15 minutes journey) both arriving Manchester at 07-05am the next day but the prices at the moment are £789 & £681 respectively
