pdogg
Not sure if it possible to attend. At one point I heard it was for Embassy employees and other VIPs but now it sounds as if it may be more open. This will be happening sometime tonight, probably 9PM at the earliest. Quote Link to comment
deepthroat
Jesus, I'd do anything to be there if I were you. How many other opportunities will you ever have to meet the President? Quote Link to comment
pdogg
If i knew we could get in, I'd go. But some sources imply it's closed and if I didn't get in which is likely I'd also be missing the Ladyboy Sausage Contest at Famous. Mr Obama would then travel to Government House to have dinner with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, said the source, adding that after the dinner, he would have a meeting with about 600 US embassy staff at Chulalongkorn University’s sports complex. mardhi
"meeting with about 600 US embassy staff" That probably goes some way to explaining the financial mess - how on earth can you need 600 staff in the BKK embassy. Quote Link to comment
pdogg
Obama will be speaking on TV around 7PM Bangkok time. Quote Link to comment

My guess is you haven't been there...? (the embassy, that is) The university, Chula, for anyone interested, is top in Thailand. It's also total shit... Quote Link to comment

Snick
Good to see Yingluck speaking English, Bangkok post reported she would not as her handlers were worried she would be an embarrassment..she is doing fine. Quote Link to comment

pdogg
Yingluck totally evaded a tough question. in his statement Obama said he liked Thai food. A reporter asked what was his favorite Thai food. The prez wasn't prepared for that and said he liked it all. Quote Link to comment
pdogg
Fox guy seemed impressed by the attractiveness of Yingluck. I think Obama was off his game, perhaps a bit jet lagged, and not briefed properly with regard to Southeast Asia which contrasted to a Mideast question for which he was properly briefed. deepthroat
Fox guy seemed impressed by the attractiveness of Yingluck. Wow, more of the incisive, in-depth analysis that Fox is known for. Quote Link to comment
pdogg
Where in Bkk was this? Think the press conference was at the Government House. Was kind of wierd, my teerak lying in bed, an American and Thai, watching an American and Thai on TV. They have more money and power though. We have less stress. Quote Link to comment
