  6. The other night a punter BF'd all 6 LB's from the Roadhouse - leaving it empty ! All back there last night tho' - but lack of customers.

  8. Roadhouse Bar Soi 5 tonight - 7 LB's - 3 GG's - 3 Customers. Also 6 FL'ers Bottom Soi 5/6/7
  9. No drinks on the house for you. In 1931, the small brewery at Felinfoel was the first brewery outside the USA to commerically can beer. Prior to this time, beer was only available in barrels or in glass bottles. From this time, lightweight tin cans could be used. Felinfoel Brewery was a major supplier to British armed forces abroad in the Second World War - cans saved a great deal of space and weight for wartime exports compared to glass bottles, and did not have to be returned for refilling. These early cans did not have a 'pull tab', instead they had a 'crown cork' (beer bottle top). All modern UK canned beer is descended from these small, early cans which helped change the drinking and beer-buying habits of the British public. From the 18th century until the early 20th century Wales dominated world tinplate production, peaking in the early 1890s when 80% of world's tinplate was produced in south Wales.
  10. Thankfully Singha Light is only 70 Baht in Tick Bar (wrong info' given previously) also new LB in there. Still earshattering music (?) tho'.
  11. And for F***s sake why. 55555 That was not really anything to do with the answer - just a swipe at tinned beers.
  12. 30 Degrees in February (English Subs') "compelling ten-part drama 30 Degrees in February follows a group of Swedes who've left the snow and cold of Scandinavia for the warm, sandy beaches of Thailand in the dead of winter. Why? To embark on a life-changing adventure, a fresh start and a new life, of course". Their words not mine. Well it's not that bad - nice glimpses of bar life in Phuket http://www.sky.com/tv/show/30-degrees-in-february
  13. Tinnies! Where and when were the first 'Canned Beers' produced in the UK. (First outside the USA also) And for F***s sake why. 55555

    Obituaries

Death yesterday of English Folk Blues Guitarist John Renbourne. He formed the band "Pentangle" with Bert Jansch who died in 2011. Saw 'em all many times.
  17. Michael Caine in "Get Carter" - "in a thin glass" !
  18. Sadly the "Coolest/Best Fictional Bar" doesn't exist. = or does it. ? It's George Orwells " Moon Under Water'."
  19. Not seen Poppy for a long time. She left Ma Mak - couldn't get on with owner (oldish LB Aneu) - Family still own the bar but have leased it off. Packed on opening party night and empty ever since. A few bars are charging 70 for usual Thai Lollywatter. (Tick Bar, Cassandras, Garry Bar (A few LB's drink here). Despite only one LB my favourite is the Corner House with low key music and a superb breeze blowing off the road when sat overlooking it. Gets noisy Sat/Sunday when they have the football on the telly.
  20. Yes - at the moment.! Apart from Mint Bar and a couple in Buddy Bar - both close together near the front. Of course "Jam" in The Corner House - 150 LDrink and 500 BF - plus she asked a chum of mine for 3,000 - maybe 2,000 Short time. HoHoHo
  21. Meanwhile back in the Rompho market the LB's have moved around. New owner of Naughty Girls Bar at the top - got rid of the guitar duo who were a bit better than the other musical (?) acts in the bars. 3 LB's in there including June (pictured) late of Zero Bar. Tick Bar has 2 LB's including "Luk/Nook" pictured somewhere on this posting. Across from Tick Bar is Ma Mak Bar with 2 chunky LB's. Plus as mentioned Mint Bar with a few LB's who require a ladydrink at 150 Baht and a 500 Baht Barfine.
  22. Only 2 girls "Pooi" and "Mong" at the Roadhouse about 6 LB's - on and off.
