Well I struggled through the video. I can see his point about "for the better" but only for some people. I'm sure you can get a good, straight massage if you want, but what does it mean for people who have invested in bars and other kinds of massage? And is it really only about money? Having to get a "guest house licence" for the short time rooms - it's cosmetic, not cleaning up the city. And what about all the ggs and lbs? If all these changes (or enforcement of existing laws) do go ahead, those of us who like things as they are may well go elsewhere, and the city will lose out on all of our money, the girls will be short on income, and crime (theft, for example) may increase. Time will tell.

For Lent I'm giving up worrying about things I have no control over; well, I'll try anyway. (The general said last Friday night in his weekly speech that today (Sunday) is "No Alcohol Day", but if you can't stop, then you should try to cut down) - so I guess if I try to stop worrying, then that's okay too. I've become very cynical in my old age - maybe I should try to stop that too.

And doing a great job too. I like the style of LBR, and the fact that most members have the right attitude. Like Stoolpusher, I find this site is my favourite.

Great photo BB. And yes, we are all getting old. her song "One Way or Another" probably applies to a few of us .
-
I agree with Tex - long straight hair, and preferably black. But it's a very individual thing, and hard to explain. Some noses put me off (why? I have no idea), and the right one with short hair (yes, SP, like Pancake) can do the trick. In the end if it's right at the time, it's right. Superman is brought to his knees.
-
Getting old, BB - for ages I couldn't see the point of your photo, and then the penny dropped. A strange world indeed.
-
Yes indeed. Ill wouldn't begin to describe his feelings then. (but a nice thought - without the police and army being present of course). Some "oral pleasure" would be very nice, thank you.
-
I think it's the same everywhere - it's legal as long as you don't get caught. Legal or not, I'll bet the guy is feeling ill after it all went sour.
-
Certainly a step in the right direction. Unfortunately I can't get near the financial requirements, but I can see some guys would really benefit from the new setup. I'll just plod along with my yearly renewals for now, unless I jag the lottery.

What was the real motive behind the raid? And what a shocker - wearing a bikini and "exposing her breasts". - pornography of the highest level. I'm lost for words. Oh yes, the army wasn't going to say anything, but the police let the news out. What's behind it all?

I read that the Saudis said it was " .. not in their culture .." to observe the minute's silence (though they have done so before). I'm pleased the Socceroos beat them, and their officials have apologised as well. But a pretty poor show on the night. Try offending their culture in their country - you'd be lucky to make it out alive. I feel for the families of the victims of the attacks.

I have no idea; but I would go with pics 1,2 and 3 at the drop of a hat. No way would I go with pics 4,5 or 6 in a fit. Doesn't it make you think ..... ?

That's just brilliant, sustra2. Agree completely with KenW's comments.
-
I basically agree with all of the above. It doesn't hurt to check out the location of the bars (can do on here) and ask advice, and have a vague plan in the back of your mind, but leave it there and enjoy your trip. We've all been first-timers once; try to relax and as Archie says, go with the flow. All the best for your trip, Scott40.

These days I'm comfortable either way, but if with someone it has to be a good mate; not just a bloke I don't really know well.

We've really hi-jacked this thread, haven't we? Still, makes better reading than "Sub. Lt. Development ..." in the translation. I have to admit I couldn't have told you who starred as Quincy Adams, but I enjoyed the show at the time, for sure.
-
Quincy Adams ME; in it's day in Australia it was compulsory viewing in our house. We got so many shows from USA in those days. Better than some of the rubbish on now, actually. Anyway, I'm sure he would've solved the case, even caught the villain too, and for the finale would've revised the translation to tidy up the loose ends. It will be interesting to see the real outcome of the investigation.

That's the most sensible comment in all of this. When I read the first post I thought it must have been a joke - obviously not - except for the horrible translation.
-
When I was in Papua New Guinea some years ago with the army, advertisements for San Mig beer were something like: "Happiness is a Big Red Cock". I must admit I was quite happy, even without the "Big". So, Happy Chinese New Year to all.
-
It's really not that scary - keep an open mind. But the whole point is to enjoy your time, and if bars are your scene, then that's fine too. Don't let anyone force you into anything you're not comfortable with; just relax and enjoy. Good luck with your adventures, Spacebar.

Never quite caught up with the modern world. I have a dumb phone (for making telephone calls), a notebook (with actual pages in it for writing on) and a couple of biros (ball point pens). Security and theft become less of a problem. If I got really desperate there is always an internet cafe.
-
Well I'm really pissed off for you, SP, and for Dao too of course. I hope business at Zaza is extra good now, and hopefully you can sort something out when you're on the ground. Roll along February, eh?

God, or someone, is paying me back for joking about lack of rain. Here in Phitsanulok it rained about 3 hours yesterday, and it's just started again now. Still warm though. Sorry for the people down south at present.
-
Up here in Phitsanulok we had maybe 20 drops of rain the other day. We had a short, really cold snap mid December (socks in bed and blankets; and eating breakfast in jeans and jumpers (pullovers)), but now the days are mostly sunny and hot, with nights a bit cooler. One of the locals told me that summer will come early this year.

Welcome to the forum. You've certainly kick-started my motor; just a shame it's such an old model. But best wishes for a great visit to Thailand in May, and I hope you get all your wishes fulfilled.
