  1. Was in Lollipop (Bangkok, Sukhumwit Soi 10) the other afternoon, and the bartender said there was a LB working there, but I couldn't clock her. Lollipop recently opened a second location on Sukhumwit Soi 11. Might be worth a visit.
  2. Atom is very pleasant company.
  3. Residents are hoping it's permanent. When it's easier to walk in Sukhumwit Road instead of the sidewalk, there's a problem. There were a couple mosquito bars open on the lower even side last night, but it's not like it used to be. Lot's of LB streetwalkers between Soi 10 and Asoke last night. Keep a hand on your wallet!
  4. Probably. A couple years ago I would lunch there often, and it's a nice place to spend some time before the higher octane places open.
  5. It's on Sukhumwit Soi 7/1, not Soi 7. Bar has been there for ages.
  6. A bar that wants to have something for everyone. Sweet Heart Bar is like a beer bar and bar combined; there's a big porch out front if one likes the fresh air of Bangkok, or AC and an pool table inside. And when I was there the other night, they had two GGs, two LBs, and two femboys working. Lemon (one of the femboys) is pretty cute! The music was nothing special, but at least it wasn't annoying. And there are a couple TVs around if one is into sports. Officially, I think the bar opens at 4PM. But as some of the girls live in the rooms upstairs, it's not uncommon to find someone sitting on the porch after 10AM or so. Sometimes I'll grab a Subway, and walk on down to Sweet Heart to buy a beer; great place to eat lunch! Of course, if one wants to see the full roster of girls, it's better to visit after 4. Prices reasonable, IMO. ST rooms upstairs. Convenient, but not the best rooms I've ever been in. Not the worse, but certainly not the best.
  7. Thais really don't like Thomas Cook traveler's checks. Back around 2004-5, Thomas Cook had a counterfeit problem in Thailand. If cashiers take a bad check, they're responsible for the money. Thus, many find any reason not to take them. It may also take considerably longer to cash a Thomas Cook check as they often call to verify the serial numbers. Never had a problem with American Express.
  8. It's amazing how things work out sometimes...
  9. I know what you mean. The call me the Soi 6 Geezer!
  10. Walked by the bar a little after 6, and was surprised to see it well stocked with talent. Had to stop in for a couple G&Ts just to relax. Time well spent.
  11. Got an email from Candy last night. Her holiday is over and she's planning to be in the bar tonight. She's still got a long bus ride, so we'll see if she makes it. I think tomorrow for sure.
  12. They split Malibu in half; the half near Second Road has live music, and the inside half still has the show. Can't remember if it's still called Malibu. Good times at Malibu. I had such a crush on one of the dancers. During the flood, I was there every night.
  13. They're not mates, they're co-workers. A number of the girls in *any* bar can't stand each other. More about Thai vs. Farang, IMO. And attempted murder raises things to a quite different level.
  14. Can't remember much about the staff as I was preoccupied. Soi 13/2 is where the old Malibu Cabaret was located. One street south of Stringfellow's/La Bamba. And actually, in the old days it wasn't uncommon for a bar to have at least one LB or FB working; usually a dekserve, but sometimes dancing.
  15. No joke! Be sure to bring your meds!!
  16. The Nanapong guys are throwing one of their infamous dance contests tonight at Doll House on Soi Cowboy. Doors open at 7:30, and the contest probably won't start until 9. Go early if you want a seat. And if it's anything like previous Nanapong dance contests, the doors will be locked long before 9.
  17. Hmmm... I always though Siam Sam was known as the Soi 6 Geyser!
  18. Have to agree that the girls' salesmanship was aggressive, but that never bothered me. Usually, I liked it. But when I couldn't partake, I just told them I didn't have time. Guess they understood I'd be back sooner or later. No doubt there's more to the story, but even so, what could he have said that would justify attempted murder? The scuffle between the two means little to me, and wouldn't stop me from visiting the bar; however, the fact that the girls wouldn't cooperate with the police takes the bar out of my rotation.
  19. Next time you're in town I've got an interesting place to show you. A bit of an expat hangout, and the owner forbids mentioning the bar's name on the Internet. Defo not for the faint of heart.
  20. Sorry to say I didn't take notice of the prices, which is probably a good thing; meaning it wasn't too expensive. I will say that the femboys give better LD value than the GGs there; the femboys will nurse a beer for a while, but the GGs tear through their Sangsom sodas. Usually my only rule is NO TEQUILA SHOTS!
  21. Sorry I wasn't clear. The femboys are dancers! Had a lot of afternoon fun there.
  22. Located on Soi 13/2 near Second Road. The bar opens at about 1:30PM! You know how it is in Thailand; sometimes a bit earlier, and sometimes a bit later. The AC is good, and they have free Wi-Fi. Miami-Ago-Go is primarily a GG bar, but the reason I'm posting is that there are a few serviceable femboys there. The femboys can be a bit shy first so they may not approach you. But they're quite entertaining once you buy a few LDs and get to know them. ST rooms upstairs. Gotta be happy with that!
  23. I gotta say that was one of my favorite bars, but if that's the way they're going to be, I have many other favorite bars.
  24. Well, I was going to say that this is just another reason not to go to Phuket... But I did read the other day that the government is starting to come down on the taxi mafia. So maybe there's hope.
