  12. Well there were 11 of us on this trip and we stayed at the Twin Towers Hotel, we arrived at Don Muang airport and were cheered by hundreds of Thais who actually thought we were the Manchester United players , I had had this beforehand at Kuala Lumpur Airport when a Security guard armed with a big machine gun kept asking me for my autograph while I was collecting my luggage, despite my protests that I was not a Man United player he was totally convinced I was Roy Keane The first night we got 4 tuk tuk's and asked them to take us to Delaney's Irish Pub, after about 20 minutes of racing through the streets of Bangkok we ended up in a dark back alley except for this brightly lit up Building, we were worried we were about to get jumped and robbed but as there were 12 of us in tow we would have a go. When we enquired what was going on and said "This is not Delaneys" they replied "Yes this it, this is Dee Ladies", I pissed myself laughing when I looked inside the building to find it full of girls sat in a giant soapy filled Fish Bowl We told them respectively that we were not interested and they took us to Patpong, again racing full pelt through the streets against each other for a further 20 minutes, that was a real buzz We headed into a go-go bar called Riffifi's, sat down ordered drinks and watched the girls dancing on the poles, one stunner gave me simulation of giving me a BJ so I nodded on she sat beside me, turned out this girl was a mute and slightly deaf but she ended up staying with me for my full 6 nights in Bangkok, she was my Thai g/f for the next two years thereafter As a few of us were wearing Man United shirts we were again mistaken for Man United players, as I did not want to insult them I gladly posed for photos with them and signed my autographs..Roy Keane Another thing that had me gobsmacked was this Traffic Cop directing the traffic outside our Hotel, he would spend hours DANCING and blowing his whistle while directing the traffic, one of the funniest sights Ive ever seen in my life and I would watch him for an hour a day performing We only visited the Nana area once and that was to go drinking in the Beergarten on Soi 7 We also visited Kanchanaburi and the River Kwai which had the hairs on my neck stand on end as my Grandfather had fought for years in Burma during WW11, the longboats we hired too were a great buzz on visiting the sights So the answer to your question "was there any particular aspect of Bangkok that captured your imagination more than the others?" I would have to say EVERY aspect of Bangkok captured my imagination...total Buzz City
  13. The Ezy Bar wins hands down for me because it had the best "vibe" of all the ladyboy bars Ive ever visited over the years and that includes Bangkok
