Pdoggg
Further restrictions in Pattaya announced today. Booze can no longer be consumed in restaurants but can be purchased for takeaway. In Bangkok, no dining after 9PM Beaches are still open and tonight I saw saw a group of Russians drinking beer on Jomtien Beach. In Rayong beaches are closed from 6PM to 6AM. The reasoning is to allow exercise but prohibit the night time drinking. Public pools are closed. A condo's juristic person can decide whether their pool is public or private.

There are some differences between this lock down and the April lockdown though. There is no curfew so you can walk or ride your bike all night. You can dine in at restaurants. You can buy beer at 7/11. Lastly, the dogs were really spooked out when in April when everything was closed and everyone left but the soi dogs are used to the new normal.

Pdoggg
The head of the Thai Hoteliers' Association of the eastern Seaboard has urged the governor of Chonburi to order the temporary closure of ALL hotels in the Pattaya area. The move is seen as a way for hotel employees to access social security payments. He said that there are no customers in the hotels whatsoever and even if they remain open in name they are effectively shut. If they were ordered to be shut then employees could get a 7,500 baht social security payment - half of a 15,000 baht salary.
Pdoggg
The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced this morning zero new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the past day. This is the first time since late December and a now three week long period of business closures and restrictions that zero cases have been found. This follows what authorities are calling targeted mass testing of high-risk groups which are taking place with hundreds of residents on a daily basis in Chonburi. The testing is set to continue for the rest of the week as authorities continue to ensure there is no sign of widespread infection of Covid-19 in the local community. Some of the high-risk groups being tested are migrant workers who live in densely packed communities, people who visited and worked at entertainment venues in Si Racha, people who attended illegal gambling events, and people who work in occupations with lots of exposure to others like taxi drivers and supermarket workers. https://thepattayanews.com/2021/01/19/for-the-first-time-in-weeks-chonburi-announces-zero-new-cases-of-covid-19/
