Hey JS, if you're looking for a recommendation, I've used this for years: Panda Antivirus. It's free, very lightweight, and shouldn't give you any problems. The need for heavy-duty antivirus and firewall software is a bit overblown, imho, which is why I started using Panda in the first place on my Win 7 box (an IT tech friend turned me onto it originally).
