  1. I assume the boy pics are the before and the ladyboy pics are the after. It is really quite shocking the other way around when the girl that you lusted after now has a goatee.

    Airline News

Doesn't sound like the ideal venue for the World Cup.
  3. Perhaps the most iconic album cover of all time and also played hundreds of times by me. Fast moving cultural shifts in 1967 and that was even before social media. In '64 the Beatles with their mop top haircuts were relatively clean cut singi g extremely well done and catchy pop tunes. In just 3 years they were glorifying drugs and revolution. Just a few days before Sgt Pepper was released, Muhammed Ali refused to be inducted into the army. Ali said “My conscience won’t let me go shoot my brother, or some darker people, or some poor hungry people in the mud for big powerful America,” “And shoot them for what? They never called me nigger, they never lynched me, they didn’t put no dogs on me, they didn’t rob me of my nationality, rape and kill my mother and father. … Shoot them for what? How can I shoot them poor people? Just take me to jail.” That summer was called the Summer of Love. Young people flocked San Francisco and the still yet ungentrified East Village in New York to practice Free Love and do drugs. Back then Fucking For Fun was considered subversive. In early 1968 the mainstream media started to realize the futility of what the Vietnamese call the American War and Walter Cronkite declared that the war was unwinnable. Music was a huge part of the hippie counterculture. It's really quite easy today to start a movement with the aid of social media but young people had a strong motivation in not wanting to go to Vietnam so the counterculture grew Album covers were a part of this countrrculture. Btw, Sonny Liston is one of the people on the Sgt Pepper cover. Any of you know half the people? Sgt Pepper is not the only iconic Beatles cover. Abbey Road is also quite recognizable as well as those of other bands. Any favorites you have?
  4. Two tram lines are being planned for Pattaya.
  5. Not only can you grab em by the pussy; you can also rape them. Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has sought to reassure soldiers who might be accused of committing abuses under martial law and jokingly said that if any of them were to rape three women, he would personally claim responsibility for it. It's more fun in the Philippines.
  6. Commune Elections are being held so no booze on June 3-4. Not sure if bars will be open if not selling booze. The Commune elections are strong indicator of the results of the Parliamentary elections to be held in 2018.
  7. There are morlams all over Issan, though not the size of the ones in Pattaya. The trucks have arrived and a stage will soon be erected in Sakon Nakhon for tonight's show. Sanook!
  8. I get the impression that this controversy can be chalked up to a bad translation but it has created a shit storm on Thai social media for being insensitive. Quite the difference between Thailand and Indonesia. In one country calling gays or transgenders is consider politically incorrect speech while in the other you can get caned for being a sexual deviant.
  9. There is something very odd about selfies being taken at events such as public canings or burnings at the stake.
  10. Mango Square gets going late. I wouldn't arrive before 10:30 PM. Prime time is later, maybe around 12:30 AM and perhaps later on the weekends. Mango Square also has some food stalls that are pretty good. And San Miguel Lite is a local beer so quite inexpensive or if you want a real buzz you can go the Red Horse route, ordering quart bottles for your table and ask for ice and lots of paper cups. What's also nice about Cebu is that taxis are quite cheap with generally cheerful honest cabdrivers.
  11. The adventure begins Stro! Curious, does your condo have a bumsquirt? That girl is hot for sure but her asking price is way out of line for Cebu. But hey, you only live once and you don't have a long holiday. Btw, if you make it to Mango Square, it is doubtful that any of the ladyboys there will turn down 700 Piso for shortime and then if you are happy you can give her 1000 and she will be pleased. Under promise and over deliver. I suggest just announcing what you will pay as asking leads to an awkward negotiation. Just sit at an outdoor table that has freelancers. Since there are no "lady drinks" it's not very expensive to let your whole table drink up and have a good time. I found the gogo bars anound a 5 minute walk from Mango Square to be extremely disapointing though. Mango Square doesn't seem popular withe the guys on LBR but I just never felt comfortable with the online stuff. I know online is most probably better but it's just not my style.
  12. China has banned K-Pop due to a political dispute with Korea so is trying to develop home grown talent. The latest craze is a band of androgynous women named ACrush, And an added twist is they are sponsored by the Fantasy Football Confederation so they must weave football into their songs and videos.
  13. An altercation between a gayish Thai and a Chinese guy on the MRT. The Thai tells the Chinese to go back to your own fucking country and wants to fight while the Chinese guy wants to go to the police. http://thailandtravelfun.com/fight-on-bangkoks-mrt/

    Art

I really like this Basquiat that just broke the all time auction record for artwork. 149 million and I'm not talking about baht!
  15. You get the NBA price Randi, excellent! Maybe I'll visit and we'll get us some Laker Girls!
  16. You never know who will pop up at Hamburger Mary's; here's Bernie Sanders at their Drag Brunch!
  17. If you wind up using Agoda or Booking.Com for some of your stay, please use our links on our sister site, as the small commission we earn helps defray the operating costs of LBR at no extra cost to you. Asia Hotel and Travel I haven't used Airbnb yet, but I probably wouldn't book for more than one night sight unseen. I sort of assumed that many who rent out their homes wouldn't appreciate a Tennant having wild sex parties with transexuals. But then I hear that many small guesthouses are also on Airbnb.
  18. Oooops, it was riel not baht. Never know whether to get #1 or #2 cut, sometimes I tell the barber whichever he thinks is better but that usually confuses him.
  19. Stumbled upon the 5000 (1.25 USD) riel sign outside AR Haircuts on, confirmed the price and had myself a comfortable indoor haircut. With tip it was 6000 baht, everyone happy, and then he gave me a moist towlette. He also did my eyebrows and asked if I wanted my nose hair cut. It's located on the left hand side of Street 118 headed from Street 15 to Street 19. Most barbers don't have a sign with prices and often quote some ridiculous baring price that the Khmers surely ain't paying so I just smile and walk out. This compares favorably to the outdoor barbers who charge 1 USD but this involves haggling so I will continue to use AR in the future. But if you have never had an outdoor haircut before, I recommend u check it out as it is a true 3rd World experience. But if u want a good cheap haircut inside a comfortable shop without haggling then check out AR.
  20. Pattaya Police Station is deploying a drone to ensure security for tourists on its famed Walking Street. Pattaya police chief Pol Colonel Apichai Krobphet launched the drone unit on Friday evening on South Pattaya http://www.nationmultimedia.com/news/breakingnews/30315106
  21. I am also told that Man Bar in the Jomtien Complex has a Quiz Night the second Sunday of every month with the next one on May 14th. As the name implies, it is a gay bar.
