they certainly DO see 5 round trip airtickets to Udon being paid for just 10 days ago. A 20,000b expense i'd imagine by time misc transport taken into account. But that is only for the new 'special team'. The girls who generate the highest revenue for the bar are forgotten and cast aside. however if you have no understanding of who the key staff are, then its not a surprise for this to have happened. Copious trips to Climax and the local fish restaurant will all add up as well. its simple, more money is being taken out than it can afford. I'd not be surprised if the rent is in arrears as well. what was a perfectly well funded operation has had the cash drained from it. add in lack of incoming cash from bar receipts and its heading only one way I suspect.

The reason I did not answer was more to do with the subject matter than your profession, which was the same as my fathers and Grandfathers - infact it would likely have been mine had I not looked at the travel industry. However as I recall the subject matter, my comment was more aimed at folk who hail from Burma and work on Fishing boats. Its hardly the Deep sea going ships I was talking about. Guess to me was much more of a hobby - we set out to try and save it when Jay asked for my help. We did that and did a good job in very tough economic times of getting it back up. It evolved for sure - it was not financially viable in Soi 4 with those rent levels being a laid back sofa room. Great concept, but times and rent rises caught up. However to me personally it does not make much of an impact on my earnings - its a very secondary business, however it does have emotional pull as I helped Jay develop the whole concept of the bar. What concerns me more is the other guys who have lost out financially and morally it makes my stomach turn. Its just a theft, plain and simple. Sorry if you feel I come over in the way you describe but I am not your typical bar owning type of guy.

Its easy to fill a bkk bar with has runs. GB in December had 30 stunnersnow 417 mentions plenty girls and few stunners. There are very exclusive thai venues as well. They would never allow guys like this but they handle it differently. I.e must be a member. Price of membership 20,000 includes five bottles premium spirits. That keeps the BF out and also the lower bugdet folk. They also wonder what a thai would be doing there. Example is he polics looking for a scam opportunity.

In p4p bars THais are generally not allowed in. Lots of reasons such as maybe he is bf of hostess and may make problem if he see her with another guy etc etc.

I just know what it could have become and sadly it will never reachthose dizzy heights as the management have no vision. Pushing out some of the best performers because the has runs struggle to get off their arses is just plain wrong

After some six weeks of the inmates running the asylum, its positive spin is that its still there. On the downside 8 of the 10 most popular girls have left. In total some 16 have gone to date. Moral is very low as customer numbers have dropped. Drink sales have fallen through the floor. Other than that, the new management team are saying the bar has never been busier. That would make sense as they never could add up. Plenty of free loading thai guys are making it look busier yet costing the bar a fortune in drnks and lost customers

The venues that understand it - generally are busy. The venues that do not, are generally empty. Its something I never managed to convince Thai's about though. However there is little thought given to these mobile Issan karaoke outfits who go from bar to bar for parties. Their whole modus Operandi seems to be LOUD and distorted. But bars pay 5000b each and every time to have them come. Personally I can't stand them but they do seem to generate foot traffic for a bar.

Th electric failure was nothing to do with a bill not being paid - the entire soi was out on one cable. The bars electric bill is actually done on calender month basis from the 1st. Having said that I have heard the same stories and I have heard total denials of it being true. I suspect the former is more likely.

Temp's has picked up a number of new cute girls of the variety Tomcat likes. One in particular was very nice. Can't remember her name though but plenty of good pickings in Temptations this week. They also have a regular updated Facebook page for those who use this.

The talent in KC2 (the new one) is very good. Had plenty of fun nights in here recently. #102 is especially sweet & cute if you like the uni graduates who can muster more three words of English (and not 'pay bar me?'). She was telling me she had met before when Snick took her to Guess one night and even that did not dampen my enthusiasm for her. I also noticed a number of hot babes sitting outside Pinochios as well. KC3 has nothing much going for it other than the quieter music - the LB selection is not good.

I popped into La Bamba last night for the first time since the move. I was very impressed with all they have done in such a short space of time. I am sure lots of things will keep being reviewed as things settle in and funds allow for uplifting of the rooms etc etc. But as I say, very nice and the usual low key La Bamba service.
