  1. Locally, maybe. But not the rice exports, thanks to the Pheu Thai Govt. Balance of trade must be suffering, but then again the stats will probably be massaged in the predictable govt denials.
  2. Keep up Tomcat! I will have to start fluffing for you if this neglect goes on. Or we can scout for each other, & do transfers during the close season (ie. when you are away, earning the next few barfines?) Cartoon is turning out to be a very good Team GB girl so far. There, I've probably jinxed it now, and the other staff dont know how to deal with her lively personality. But at least she's agreed to stop calling me Stogie Bear .... how rude is that!
  3. Ah good - 'girly face' (Kip) is back from Pattaya! Pity about the departed ..... Wan & Beow (sweet & sour) were 2 of my favourite drinking buddies. Barfined Beow at Anaconda, and Wan was on the TT 'to do list'. That first one in yr 'new girl' pics looks familiar, mardhi. Name?
  4. New is the prettiest 'in the flesh' . (apart from Tomcat's wife, who is just ) Met her with TC in Guess Bar. Good english, bright as a button, were my first impressions. Second impressions may involve a visit to Cascades followed by a visit to TT's loom!
  5. Perhaps I will register as 'Spamalot' !! (cue for a Monty Python sketch, mr soulboy!)
  6. C'mon, do tell .... which LBs have 'decided to leave'?
  7. I think it's safe to pick up Tomcat's cast-offs now ..... he's out of town, so I've heard. Juri may have a radar for certain attributes, but Khun Tomcat is amazing for his scouting prowess. What perfect specimens!
  8. Today I'm on a much stronger internet signal at my BKK hotel. It picks up the pages quicker, and there are no time-out errors. Dont think I get the problem when back in England (where my internet speed is excellent). Seems to be the speed, not the location, because my VPN is UK based. That might also explain why a wired connection is better than a mobile one. and my smileys are looking pleased too ....
  9. Sorry, my loyalty is being overtaken by my frustration, PD. It's completely random when these page time-out errors occur, but I'm spending far too much time trying to read the threads, let alone post on them. If it was happening on any other site I would consider it my own problem. But I dont have to clear my cache elsewhere, or have any difficulties using IE8. I am logging in from LOS, but the same happens when i use my VPN. Changing my browser might be a good idea - but I'm not doing it for the sake of one website!! Jim has had the same problem, but others may just get fed up ...... and use another forum.
  10. No, it's happened on some new content pages, even after my cache-clearing, although when I refreshed the error pages they loaded ok. A bit weird. I will report in again, after further activity
  11. Thanks Sam - about time we met up again! Ok, I eventually managed to get this page to load ..... to find out what I should do!!! So I have now cleared my cache, and have got back here without any problem (via the 'New Content since my last visit' which is my usual conduit). I never have a problem getting the website home page, or logging in or getting the 'New Content' to load. It's when I click on selected pages to load that it starts timing out, and I get a whole lot of error tabs. Then i often cant get back to the new content page at all. The cache-clearing may have sorted it (altho I dont have that problem on any other site, forum or otherwise). But I've explained the problem ..... just in case it happens again .... and you never hear from me again PD. Bermuda Triangle here we go ..
  12. Not sure where to post this, but are any other BMs getting frequent error messages with LBR pages not loading properly? Doesnt seem to be happening on any other sites, so prob not my internet connection (I use IE8)
  13. All very dark & gloomy last night in Patts bar scene. Most farang bars shut or lights down in sois 7 & 8. The usual suspects on 2nd road (eg. Wonderful bar) selling beer, in dim lighting. Stringfellows tried to open, but with no music or alcohol I think they gave up. Ironically, some of the thai bars out in the villages .... were open. So, thank you LOS, for allowing US not to drink because of YOUR Buddhist principles! Hopefully by 6pm today, things may relax a bit.
  14. I'm very pleased to see this coming to fruition, just sorry I won't be around for the event. Well done Rossco! And all credit to Areca for providing the venue. I'm assuming the forum 'home' is Khun Rossco assumption. Probably not far out, but some of the brethren (like me) are freelancers who can never be relied on
  15. Hope to see you there, Foggy. My first visit to the new style BarA this wknd.
  16. Well said Thaibound. Hope to catch up with you this weekend on your return from Phils.
  17. So I've got to be Waldorf, then? Always was, according to ciobha (& others). For the reason he posted ....
  18. Yes i heard the same in Guess Bar yesterday.
  19. Very few aircon bars now bother with the non-smoking "law' (eg Stringfellows). Some in Bangkok Nana Plaza do their best, as do Guess Bar, but it seems Anaconda is 'Up to You' (for the time being). A lot of LB lovers are chain smokers, so I expect I will be outvoted. Look forward to a return visit soon. To find out if BarA aircon 'filters' the air? Is that a joke?
  20. Now the smoke has settled .... I can admit bribing Noon, as part of my fee for the food/party, to lose/hide (or remove from FB's grasp) .... the remote for the smoke machine. I know, i know .... 'anyone who doesnt like smoke machines doesnt know how to party' (FB quote) Forgive me? In return for a couple more photos?
  21. ..... Can do a bit more than 'doff my hat' to these ...
  22. The first pic from previous post were 4 out of 5 Bar Anaconda girls up in BKK for the party. Here is Aui getting presented with her birthday cake!
  23. .... I can doff my hat to this collection ...
