And the same to you my friend. I too wish I could have been there with you, partaking of chilled Aussie white and your magnificent company.

    Vietnam LBs

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way... Well, not quite all the way, but never mind. Last night, after xmas drinks with a good (straight) mate, feeling in need of more beers, I went round the corner to my formerly favourite shellfish eatery. Very disappointing to see it so quiet. Just before midnight, when in the past it would have always had minimum 30 or so customers at that time, only one table was active, while staff were making obvious preparations for closing up. But hey, the one active table, 8 or 9 persons, was faggot from go to whoa. One new LB I'd never seen before, and the rest gay guys, some openly amorous with each other. The LB waitstaff I introduced you to a year or so ago (see posts 202 & 204 above, on p.23 of the thread) who was transitioning at the time, back & forth between normal and LB gear, was decked out in nice dress, stockings, heels, and a big ugly thick brown wig. She looked delicious. The waitstaff now included a very flirtatious gay boy, who spent time sitting at the faggot table, and a new LB, another one I had not seen before. She sat with me for a while, at my invitation, but would not go home with me (in fact none of them would...shit some xmas cheer that is). Twenty-eight years old, but very unsure of herself, so it seemed. Nice, quiet, good looking. I went home alone, but knowing I will be back soon...
  3. It's called human induced climate change. And if, like the current Australian Prime Minister, you are on public record as saying "climate change is crap" then read some serious literature with an unbigoted open mind.
  4. Yes, season's greetings to all, health & a damn fine bit of cock n bum.

And the same seasonal wishes to you too cobber. I sympathise with your struggle - you are not the first one I've met to do so - but if you do get up that nerve, let me know your travel plans. We might be able to meet up if you'd like that.
  6. Interesting topic Lefty; thank you. I agree with all said above about the military industrial complex, evil cabals and so on. But it raises some further issues which as far as I know have never been discussed publicly, or written about. (Or is it just that I've had my antennae folded up for too long.) For example, the war in Vietnam was happening and would have happened (along what paths no one can ever know, for we can't re-wind the tape of history). As a civil war of basically communist sympathisers versus others. However all were nationalists, even the very bad guys like Ngo Dinh Diem (president of then South VN) and his crowd. They all wanted the French to leave (achieved after Dien Bien Phu in 1953 - ? I forget date). They all wanted the world to leave them alone until, until, until, it became clear that the communists were going to win the election the UN mandated for 1955. Those elections were never held as Diem and the US conspired to begin anti-communist military involvement. Anyway, enough lecture; I'm sure you all know all that. But the underlying point is: that evil complex you guys refer to, stepped opportunistically into a situation already on the boil. Yes it had to construct a Tonkin incident etc. But that was all justification, not incitement per se. Second point: yes the western (especially US) armaments industry benefited hugely as it still does from such conflicts. But what about the North VNese? They were basically armed by the then Soviet Union and China (MIGs, Kalashnikovs, anti-aircraft guns, even advisors on the ground). Who paid for that? I have never heard a word about VN paying off financial debts to their allies' war industries. Was it just comrade donations? On that side of the evil armaments industry the world remains silent. Third: yes there were unnecessary and immoral cannon fodder casualties from US, Australia, South Korea, New Zealand, etc. But never forget that a still unaccounted number of VNese lost their lives too (estimates fly around here of up to maybe 2 million people). Had the US never got involved there would have still been VNese casualties as in any civil war. But nowhere near the number eventually taken out by napalm, B52s and all the rest. Many who write about the war or reminisce about it, even today, discuss the horror as if VN and the VNese were just a backdrop to the American suffering. There were real grandmothers and real infants dying here in huge numbers. I could go on. But enough. Fascinating thread that really got last night's beer cobwebs shaken out on a Saturday morning. Thanks again.
  7. I have no interest in female genitals whatsoever. As Satre said once: "females are all holes and slime."
  8. I never go to LB porn sites. Am I a dull drag or what? But from what I've seen here on various threads, She Male Japan would win hands down for me.
  9. Get Big Tel to talk about the one on Second Road near the Soi VC corner. Ha! (The kebabs are yummy.)
  10. That would indeed be something Sam. My roof deck is big enough for a helicopter to land, so Santa should have no trouble. Unfortunately the chorus line aint gunna happen. But anyway, a healthy & happy holiday to you too my friend. I hope we get a chance to catch up in 2014.

    LB or GG

LB. Forehead and chin look maleish.
  12. O top shelf would be a chorus line of LBs. But I suppose I'll have to be content with a ham and some cheap wine.

Sorry about the sluggish reply cobber32; I just saw this now. I'm pleased and delighted that you enjoyed reading it. I've been quite the little asexual object of late, but when I take up with some VN LB material again, I will let folks know via this very thread. Yes, it would be quite different to 66-67. I didn't come here back then (in 1968 draft) but had mates who did and plenty I have met since who've told me stories. Best wishes. I haven't seen you on the forum before. If you are new, welcome and glad to see you enjoying.
  14. Earlier in the year an exchange of letters between a young JDS and a lover were released. So there's a fair bit of interest in new JDS stuff around at the moment; in the USA anyhow.
  15. For those in town and out & about in the capital, Rainbow are having a Cocktail Night (all puns no doubt intended) tomorrow. Friday 29 November from 7 pm. Happy hour 7 - 8 buy one get one free. All night long cocktails $2.50.
  16. Not that anyone's interested in Vietnam, but in the wee hours last night I recalled that I once had 2 femboys in a room at the Hong Kong Hotel, Bui Vien St, District 1, Saigon. It's a wonderful short time hotel, my long term favourite. Never a problem. (You can see an attempted humorous parody of that evening in my VN LBs thread - Bee & Bee with me.)
  17. Yes, so the trick is to check in here first, read accommodation threads, ask FMs what's the go, then when your mind is made up move to a site like Agoda and book.
  18. On one trip I had 2 LBs in my room at Golden House Hotel, 136 St, Phnom Penh, no problem. No extra charges or fees.
  19. Should be OK Sam. This morning it is headed for central VN, winds still 145 km/hr gusting up to 175, making landfall late on Sunday, some 600 or so km north of where I live. We will still get heavy rain and some wind, but if that forecast holds we should be OK. However I fear central VN will do worse than the PI, for their preparations are unknown and there is really nowhere to evacuate to. That is the thinnest part of VN, only about 50 km from coast to Laos. Maybe they could all pack up and cross the border, ha! I don't mean to sound flippant. This is a cause for serious concern.

My weekly supermarket visit this morning. This is a big Korean owned Lotte Mart about 1km from my house. Lots of franchises including cinema, eateries, coffee shops, shoe shops, etc. Also, obviously, the main central feature a mainstream supermarket. It opened about 3 years ago and I have been shopping there on a weekly basis ever since. This morning first time I have ever seen a LB there. Pushing my trolley down an aisle, against me came, also pushing a trolley, a couple. He: stocky barrel chested short cropped hair T shirt & jeans, about 30; She: about late 20s, in a plain skirt and 2 dollar rubber thongs, bad cheap nail job and a couple of cheap pubescent tatts. I couldn't stop ogling while desperately trying not to ogle, leaving them be, not wanting to make her feel obvious and looked at. As it happened I was behind them in a queue briefly (buying bread); they merely talked very quietly (I heard not a murmur), looking like a well ensconced couple simply out for a morning's shopping. Damn fine. Good luck to them I thought. Nobody paid them any mind. Fantastic.

O god that stuff is so hackneyed isn't it. I have to say I find those sorts of journalistic reports so tedious, so uninteresting. All that shit about how hard it is in their lives, how they struggle, is so tiresome. I mean, hey, we all know that stuff. Let's get on with LBs being interesting, fun, sexy, rootable.
  22. 1. That life expectancy does indeed sound suspiciously precise (especially compared to the rather vague 75 to 80 for Westerners). Many other places have poor health facilities and the diseases listed (e.g. India, Vietnam, Burma...). 2. I have no intention of raising a child in Cambodia. 3. Infrastructure sucks in many places. The stink of garbage, smoke, urine and rotting fish? Ah...Saigon I love you. 4. I will never teach English or open a bar. My finances are far more at risk from greed filled careless shonky Western stockbrokers than they are from anyone or any phenomenon in Cambodia. 5. My mother is dead. 6. I am already an alcoholic. 7. I neither have nor have any intention of having, a Thai girlfriend.
  23. Now there's a tender we could submit Sam. Sam's janitorial services, specially designed to suit the needs of young scholarly LBs and their schools.

While the article doesn't mention LBs, the same indeed applies to them. I have yet to encounter a hotel, or nha nghi (rest house) as the article says, that is LB unfriendly.
