Row 44 on certain Thai Airways aircraft have the widest bulkhead I've ever seen. If a Thai Airways rep won't give you a seat in Row 44, try offering a Thai travel agent 500 baht if they can secure a seat in Row 44 for you. Worked for me. Many Thais drink their beer with ice. This probably came about years ago when refrigeration was less common in Thailand. I haven't looked for transcontinetal airfares in quite some time but mates keep telling me that prices are higher. I have found that the sweetspot (not talking about a ladyboy's puckered asshole here) is booking 4 months in advance for paid flights and 11 months in advance for free frequent flyer flights. Flexibilty can produce savings but of course not everyone's schedule is flexible. I've found the easiest way for me to save on flights is to get free fequent flier miles for things other than flying such as opening bank accounts or getting a creidt card. One buddy of mine goy 30K free miles from Continental for getting a card plus a small amount of miles for every purchase. That one simple maneuver was half the miles he needed for a trip to Thailand.

Best thing about Pattaya Tai street food in the wee hours is you never know who you'll meet. You might be headed home alone and see a ladyboy you know or don't know at the market. The deserted shortcut to the market is interesting. It seems like the sort of space where in a dark corner someone should be getting head.

When I'd come here on holiday, i'd be careful about what I ate and drank cause I didn't want to ruin a vacation being sick. But now, I eat mostly street food, not just cause it's cheaper, but also because it's tastier. One of my favorites is the chicken and rice stand on the NE corner of Pattaya Tai and Soi Buckhaou. It's always packed with Thais which ios a good indicator of food quality. What are your favorites? :stuff:

I'm a latecomer to the internet, 1997, but as FB says I think message boards and bulletin boards were the terms back then. The Forums aren't a Werner Erhardt seminar nor a gathering of Roman Senators. I do prefer FM but I haven't seen it anywhere. Lots of less useful things to think about, for example. if Pattaya had a skytrain where would the stations be?

You didn't mention how long your trip is but here's my two baht. Start out in Bangkok, stay at a hotel within very easy walking distance of Nana Plaza. Next stop is a taxi to Pattaya. By now, you'll have figured out if you prefer Bangkok or Pattaya. Then hop a flight to Phuket. So now you'll know which of the three you like best and can adjust your time in Phuket accordingly. Then fly back to either Bangkok or Pattaya, whichever you like best to wind up the trip. Then a taxi to the airport which is located in between Bangkok and Pattaya. Enjoy your trip, and if you have questions just ask. We have a friendly bunch of guys here.

I voted for Obsessions and Cascade. Things may change form month to month or year to year, but IMO Obsessions generally has the prettiest girls, especially given that I prefer the "Japanese type". Cascade seems a very close second as far as the girls and I like the seating arrangement, a little more private there than at Obs. The best thing is that you can visit them all, as well as Guess Bar in one night.

Think United has Economy Plus and if I recall correctly Thai Airways had Premium Economy on their now defunct New York to Bangkok flight. At the airport they were offering a one way upgrade to Premium Economy for $200 bucks but since i had Row 44 which is the mother of all bulkheads I wouldn't have upgraded for free.
