  1. Colin Furze's huge valveless jet engine, housed in a specially constructed pair of buttocks, was placed in Dover and aimed in the general direction of France. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/comedy/10985111/British-inventor-builds-giant-fart-machine-to-fire-at-France.html

  3. There are many things to see and do around Sin City aka Pattaya. If you have time to venture out with your Thai friend, try Siam miniture city. It is a lot of fun and enjoyable to see and spend an afternoon. 387 Moo 6 Sukhumvit Rd., Pattaya City Naklua, Banglamung , Chonburi 20150 http://www.minisiam.com
  4. I like the lazy life. I like waking up late and going to bed late. I like that you can find any type of food you want if you are willing to ride a baht bus. I like being able to order McDonalds and Burger King and have delivery in 20 minutes. I like the friendlienss of the Thai people.
  5. Thank you for the photos. I love the ones with the Thai people taking care of their dogs and animals. Not sure that would happen most places.
  6. Michael and Thomas will be missed. They ran a great bar. Do you know if the new owners are going to keep the bar in the right direction?
  7. I thought interesting Bill Maher's show last night as they talked about how his captors shoved a stick up his ass after he was captured. The pundits have been saying how crazy this was and only happens in an uncivilized country. Did they forget the police in NYC doing the same thing in the police station not too many years ago? Why the different rules for different societies. I don't think either case is acceptable and is horrible. That said, I hate the way we often criticize other countries for the same thing that happens in ours.
  8. Fantastic history lesson. Thank you. I learned a great deal from the OP.
  9. Great photos. I loved looking at these. Thanks so much!
  10. This seems so prevalent in Thailand. I don't get it. Why can't they wait a few minutes. Even in some nice restaurants, they do this. Leave me the fuck alone!
  11. For your Kindle, go to the amazon.com site and download to your computer for free and then move over to the Kindle. That is what I do. Also, use the Kindle App as it will sync with all the books and you can read on your computer as well. It even keeps track of what page you are on with each device. Lastly, if you have an IPad, I love my Kindle books on IPad. All the free books are free. But, if your Kindle is not the International one, it will charge you. The work around is just to download to the computer and then push them over to your device. :) That is what I do as I didn't see the need to upgrade to a more expensive Kindle just for International just to download in LOS when I can use the computer's internet to do the same. :)
  12. Lefty, I agree with you. I loved Deadwood and wish they had carried Wild Bill's character longer. What book of fiction would you recommend from this time period?
  13. Lefty, with your reading list, out of curiosity, did you like the Deadwood series that was on HBO?
