  1. I met him several times when he arrived into the UK and as a VIP had to escort him to London to meet his agent who was his un-identical twin brother, who had he booked into a Mayfair hotel. So after a while we got to know each other. I talked to him about my optical problem and he knew my specialist, whom I knew was gay but he was the TOP UK guy at that time, 1980's. My optical surgeon was the innovator of over the counter reading glasses, he had a hatred of Dolland and Aitchison and campaigned big time over their over pricing and wanted Woolworths to sell un-prescribed glasses. It took nearly 20 years but it happened Therefore we had a rapport. So he gave me his address. Arthur C. was way beyond everybody's timezone. His insight for the future was extreme, he knew that Satellite techno was the way forward. The Russians had just produced a new dish which they had sent to him for his testing so he said next time I'm in Colombo come and see the results. Therefore I bowled up to his gated home on my next visit. Yes he was surrounded by white robed very effeminate males who looked at me with a touch of distaste, cos I was young hansum man then. Nevertheless Arthur C. was very informative about the new dish and could dissect many facets that were available at that time, even though computers were still in their infancy. He foresaw a new computer age big time but was unclear as how it would occur his thoughts were definitely focussed on satellites and their use in modern times. I once asked him what is the most un-explained phenomena that has perplexed him. His reply was "A Fireball travelling from nose to tail through an aircraft" Certainly I knew he had a penchant for young boys as did my surgeon but in the 80's you just kept quiet. As for the "Fireball" no one really knows how, why or where but it's worth a Google.

  2. I don't use them but was reading over on a GG board that the bank exchange places are now charging a fee of 150 baht to cash travelers checks instead of the old 33 baht fee. God those Thais are greedy fucking bastards.

  4. Hey guys, just got back from Thailand a week or so ago, i wish I could go right back!! Unfortunately, I didn't pluck up the courage to tangle with one of the many gorgeous LBs I found whilst I was out there, but I did find a couple of LBs in a bar called Cocktail Bar on Soi Cowboy, I can't say I remember seeing it mentioned on here, but there were at least 3 or 4 in there. One of them was the awesome Kathy, I was literally minutes away from popping off (excuse the pun) with her, but my bottle didn't hold up, as it was our last night, and we had a early flight, etc. etc. blah blah, man I wish I'd done it. She was absolutely stunning!! Argh!!! She did inform me that she actually spends most of her time in Singapore, and is only in Thailand for 2 months at a time, but I wasn't sure if that was just a line to try and tempt me...I digress. Anyway, just wanted to put this bar on the list for future mongers.

  5. I couldn't agree more Sam. Why should anyone care what someone does on their holidays providing they aren't hurting anybody. On the other hand BB has hurt my eyes by posting that picture. I thought this thread was about old guys wearing flip flops. Or thongs as we call them in Oz.

  6. I have to agree with Willie. Most annoying video for sure. Made me wanna smack her. Old(er) men and thongs? Hmmmm, hard to say. Certainly does not do a damn thing for me nor would I be caught dead wearing one. Then again take a gander at the old Russian female whales in bikinis on the Pattaya and Jomtien beaches. From their perspectives they just wanna feel free and let it all hang out. They're on vacation and couldn't give a fleas' piss what we think. And who are we to judge really. Live and let live as they say. In the end all is good. However give me the young tight ladyboy or curvy little fresh GG any day and I'll vote for you party.

  8. It is known as "Venice of the North". I was a 19 yo kid sent there to look after 500 or so Mathematicians attending a conference. It was during the White Nights which was awesome.

  10. I have stayed in that neighbourhood for many times and have gotten use to the comings and goings of "locals". I know exactly when the street wakes and when it goes to bed. I know when each business opens and closes. And I know the late night human traffic of which there is a variety of choice. However I have never noticed or seen anything unbecoming, threatening, dangerous, out of the Pattaya ordinary. I always felt safe there no matter when I pulled my sorry ass back home. So yes, to know some innocent 19 year old girl got murdered, stuffed into a plastic sack and disposed of on a rooftop not more than 20 meters away from my room freaks me out to say the least. I probably walked by this mother-fucker a number of times while I was there. So sad. I pray they get the bastard. Poor her and what a toll on her parents.

  11. Here's an addition to the Bangkok hotel listings for those guys that like to experience luxury for what would be budget money in the USA. I booked a couple months in advance and was able to get a Grande Suite at a 53% discount on Agoda, which worked out to be $145 US per night. Only downside was that the reservation was noncancelable and nonrefundable. Hotel is located at the Asok BTS terminal and Sukumvhit MRT terminal, and is on the backside of the massive Terminal 21 mall. From the hotel lobby you can take an escalator up one floor then walk about 200 yards around to the entrance of the Terminal 21 mall or the BTS station. The windows in the bedroom feature electronic screens that either filter out bright sunlight, or a second screen can be lowered that gives you blackout curtains. The bathroom has both a shower and a deep soaker tub, as well as an electronic toilet with an automated bidet. See photos. The huge wall of windows in the living room by themselves make this room worth the $145 per night, that's basically the price of a low-end budget hotel in most major cities in the US.
