Pdoggg
The Cabinet Committee on Tuesday, September 20th, approved the visa exemption period extension for foreign tourists from 30 days to 45 days from October 2022 to March 2023. The Visa on Arrival (VOA) will also be extended from a maximum of 15 days to 30 days, as proposed by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and initial approval by the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) in August. The temporary extension, starting from October 1st, is applied to attract more international tourists which are expected during the high season, especially from Europe and the United States, as well as to boost tourism industry after the Covid-19 economic hardship. The government also expects that the extension would also help stimulate a number of tourists of at least 10 million by the end of 2022 as planned by the Tourism Authority. https://thepattayanews.com/2022/09/21/thai-cabinet-committee-approves-45-day-extension-of-visa-exemption-and-30-day-of-visa-on-arrival/
Pdoggg
As of today Thailand has officially reopened. No hoops. Was anyone coming in on a tourist visa or visa exempt stamp asked for proof of hotel accomodation? Some airlines could possibly have special requirements so best to check. Laawman
I came in on 24/9 but wasn't asked for either proof of accommodation or an onward flight. However, I guess YMMV if the IO thinks you look a bit dodgy.
Pdoggg
The 45 day entry stamp is no more. Arrivals without a visa from most countries that post on this forum has now reverted back to 30 days. In a separate matter, 63 members of the Shenzen Holy Reformed Church were arrested in Pattaya for overstaying their visa.
