pdogg
Question for you gadget guys. Lost my Kindle on a bus, my bad. Was told are hard to find in Pattaya What's a good alternative? Just want a simple book reader and I must be abe to transfer books from my hard drive to the reader. I guess I could just read them on my laptop but would prefer something smaller. Copy IPads from Taiwan available but I think not easy to transfer what I already have. Quote Link to comment
4:17
You can use the Kindle App on an Android tab -- there are some cheap Android tabs available in Tukom; I know as I have one that is primarily a backup to my ancient Kindle. There are a multitude of free third-party ebook readers available for Android as well. You can also get Barnes and Noble's app, although you have to fool Google/BnN into thinking you are in the United States in order to install it ... But I imagine you could track down an actual Kindle in Bangkok without too much problem ... Edit: just be aware your battery life with an Android tab won't be what you are used to with your Kindle. Other than that, it works great as an ebook reader. And the fact that it is backlit comes in handy sometimes (provided battery life isn't an issue at that momen). Quote Link to comment
