  1. Wellington is................ CORRECT! I put Santiago, Chile.....which another contestant put, just because it was so far from Madrid; kinda made sense.
  2. Final Jeopardy from last night; I was wrong on my guess, but at least one other panelist had the same answer! One put a ? and the third person, a lady, got it correct; ''THIS CAPITAL CITY, WHICH AT 12,330 MILES IS FARTHEST FROM MADRID, IS NAMED FOR A SOLDIER WHO SPENT TIME IN MADRID''
  3. I wonder if that lady would still love her son or daughter if they turned out to be gay?
  4. Let's not forget that the USA is one of the few countries in the world who runs for-profit prisons as well. Companies like Correction Corporations of America and others are listed on the NYSE and their owners and stockholders have a vested interest in keeping those prisons full. But the tide is turning against these A-holes.......and legalizing weed is the first step. Less marijuana laws = less young black kids filling the jails; it's a great thing to see.
  5. Here's another one for you guys RE presidential history; What is the name of the very exclusive club at Yale, which both Bushes and many other important people have belonged to over the years?
  6. For some reason I was under the impression that question related to someone from the 1700's, probably due to the Bligh/Mutiny on the Bounty connection. Never thought of the adulterer-in-chief!
  7. My initial thought was "the swearing in of a president" but there was no new term started in 1800 so that can't be right. I will go with "first official 4th of July celebration"
  8. Very true! In fact, I think *I* posted that photo first!
  9. Just woke up on a warm, sunny day in north Florida. But they say the Polar Vortex is coming! Could be mid-50's by tomorrow....
  10. I may be mistaken but I believe that one was already posted BB? Vietnam in the far north, near Sa Pa

I saw 'em a few times as well, I think they toured more than just about anyone! Well over 3000 dates in their career. It was an acquired taste, something you either loved or hated......I think they had a lot of power and I loved how fast they were! Road to Ruin was a great record, they made End of the Century and Rock 'n' Roll High School after that and by then I had lost interest.
  13. Yes, completely fascinating. It's amazing what mankind can do, they say the odds of us actually pulling this off were quite slim, could you imagine the disappointment of all those scientists and support staff {something like 430 people all told} had it missed the mark? They still got some helpful readings along the way, but basically 10 years of hard work would have gone down the drain. The creationists and crazy religious people hate this type of work, because it will help us discover more about how we got here; they think they already have the answer.

All this Blondie and Elvis and Clash chatter has made me nostalgic for that era, so I will stick with that theme; The band Simple Minds comes from which country? The band The Sugarcubes, which country? The band Big Country; which country? Hint; 3 different places
