Love the beach shots Mardi, they bring back great memories of the week building up to the Volleyball 3 years ago.

Have any of you guys on the ground spotted any of these elusive creatures on your travels recently. I have been told there are quite a few around.

Well with so many guys arriving in Patts in the coming days and weeks with various gadgets for getting online I reckon a thread with a list of LB venues and other popular places with free Wifi would not be a bad idea. Personally I hope to do some reporting live-ish from the bars while we are out and about, so I have a keen interest in knowing how prepared I need to be. While I am at it, can any of you guys recommend an internet provider who has some offer of a package of something like 20 or 30 hours of internet for a certain amount of Baht. Thanks guys and look forward to your useful feedback.

"I think this is it here, quick hit the bell button" I said to Baklaboy as the baht bus approached Mike's Mall on Beach Road. The bus pulled up, we grabbed our luggage awkwardly from the standing frame at the back of the bus, gave the driver the 40 B and off up the soi along the side of Mike's we scampered with 2 names for directions, Kiss Restaurant and Soi Diana. Passing the fruit sellers on the left between Mike's and Second road, we scanned for Kiss. "Ah, there it it over there, and that must be Soi Diana" Baklaboy informed me in his best Kenneth Williams voice. We made our way wide eyed up along our new surroundings, trying to take it all in. It was late afternoon, the bars were half full already, and we were looking for a room. Finally we saw the Sawasdee whatever guest house and asked if they had two rooms. "Yes mister" came the reply, "Correct answer" I thought.. We payed the rate, headed up to the rooms, dropped off our bags and I said to myself "Welcome to Pattaya" 5 years ago this week, but I remember it like it's only yesterday. I can recall that first proper day in Pattaya so clearly and it does not seem like half a decade ago, so much has happened there in the meantime. I had been coming to Thailand for 5 years already at that point, damn I had even lived in Bkk for the best part of 2 years but this was my first time hitting Pattaya, forum savvy, and boy was I going to make the most of it. I had Rossco's famous bar map printed out, legend, and off Baklaboy and I went exploring this new frontier on his rented bike....... Sitting here at home tonight, waiting patiently for my flight next week, back to all the good friends (cheers guys) I have made since jumping off that baht bus in October '07 I have to smile to myself and think how lucky I have been to discover this whole damn thing. Anyway getting to the point, what are your memories of arriving in Pattaya for the first time?

We surely are Jerry. Some last minute parties announced this week for sure, but still plenty kicking off with Halloween, but you know as well as anyone every night is a party in Patts, and a bloody good one. A bad night out in Los is as good as most new years eves back home. Catch you soon, cheers.

Have fun in Jomtien SV. You are there a week early for most of the guys who usually chill out there as they won't be in town until late next week. Duct tape is a novel bikini fabric no doubt.

My pleasure Duke you know I was made for stuff like this. It is going to be a special time in town and it will be good to contribute something online for posteriority. Just a shame I cannot be around this week as it is going to be busy, busy, busy also. Some of the other guys may answer the call.

Blame cheap German beer Khun Kahuna. After a few bottles I get a lot of flash backs to conversations I've had in Los over the years which in turn get me thinking. As I don't drink much during the week you will likely be spared any brain teasers till next Friday at the earliest.

Good stuff so I can have a night off lol. I have mentioned this before over the years, where do all those photos go to. As you say loads of guys taking shots but besides the usual suspects posting, the majority of photos taken never appear on any forums.

Some great shots of some hot looking ladies there Mardhi. Just curious what is the policy regarding taking photos come the anniversary party. Is there a designated bar photographer or is it up to the discretion of the management who can take photos and where? Cheers.

"If she was back home I'd worship the ground she walked on" a guy said to me in a bar in Hua Hin a couple of years ago in reference to his hot Lb gf. "but I am in Thailand so I don't have to" he added" with a chuckle As he was in Thailand the temptation to play around behind her back was overwhelming, he was risking ruining a relationship he could never dream of having back home, all because of the abundant amount of temptation all around him.. At the time it got me thinking: Are the majority of us also likely to play away from home given half a chance in the West, or does Los create the situation that makes even the most committed of us in a monogamous relationship stray from the path because we can. Do we become a different person, someone we never thought we were?

Interesting point about us having a comfort zone. I guess a lot of the stuff I consider normal with an LB is way beyond most regular peoples zone and I am not even half as hard core as some of the boys here I reckon. Like a dwindling minority here I have yet to have my back door smashed open, it just doesn't interest me. Some may say I don't know what I am missing but for now it's on hold.

Well that's it, just finished up work today. Having a few quiet beers at home, content in the knowledge that I'll be meeting most of you great guys in the coming month. Got a week to hang around here then Los for 4 months. Life is just too good sometimes. See you in Patts and Dongan beach soon boys.

I am with you on the attraction to chicks with short hair 4.17, it can be a great look on the right girl. I remember watching the series of Emmanuelle movies also in my younger days, set in exotic locations and thinking man I would love to check some of those places out when I get older, i e today. Wasn't VHS a saviour in the 80s.
