  1. Why not let the thread stay :-) Some of those bottles i never saw before. Like this Spiced Rum. Where you bought it ? And important how long do you have these bottles ?
  2. Hi Rom, i would say the best of these is the Cardhu Malt 12Years :-) Its a nice singlemalt. The others are mostly blends.
  3. Elijah Craig Small Batch - Bourbon Whiskey The Elijah Craig Small Batch is created from spirit aged between eight and 12 years old. You get notes of nuts, vanilla, coconut, dark fruit and caramel. This expression has been well received, taking home not one but two San Francisco World Spirits Competition Double Gold medals!
  4. Aberlour Double Cask 12Y - Singlemalt Whisky Aberlour is always a good choice - one of the best value Speyside malts around. This double matured version is a mix of traditional oak and sherry casks and is rich and fruity with delicious Christmas cake notes :-)
  5. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof 12Y (69.4% alc.) - Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Barrel strength bourbon from Heaven Hill's Elijah Craig, bottled at a very generous 69.4% ABV. A few drops of water ought to help bring out the deep vanilla and fruits notes further. It´s nutty at first, though soon enough you'll find oodles of toasted sugar and vanilla bean notes. On the finish you get lasting orange oil and poached pear. Hot spices stick around minutes afterwards.
  6. Glenlivet 12Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky Glenlivet 12Y has a soft smooth balance of sweet summer fruits and the floral notes of spring flowers. On the palate you get a soft mouthfeel with elegant orange and lemon notes, then some vanilla and toffee adding richness, but this is a delicate, fine-boned single malt with lovely balance and a refreshing character. On the finish the juicy citrus notes linger, inviting you to take another sip :-)
  7. Ron Zacapa Centenario Sistema Solera 23 - Rum An awesome rum – winner of a Platinum medal and ranked in First Place by the prestigious Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago, with a whopping 97 points. Nose full or apricots, citrus fruits, vanilla, cocoa and bourbon; rich and full-bodied with spicy chocolate flavors and a pleasing tannic bite; very long finish, clean and rich with a lovely liqueur-like density.
  8. Talisker 10Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky A classic Island dram from the Isle of Skye. Aged for a minimum of 10 years in American oak casks. It was an Editor's Choice at Whisky Magazine, a gold medal winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017 and was awarded 'Best Islands Single Malt' at the 2017 World Whiskies Awards. It's a bonfire of peat crackling with black pepper, with a touch of brine and dry barley. A welcome delivery of orchard fruit provides a delicate and beautiful balance. In a long finish, bonfire embers toast malt and crystallise a sugary underlay.
  9. Thank you :-) Yeah, lets hope they open the borders soon and without the quarantine.
  10. Ardbeg 10Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky A phenomenal whisky packing powerful peaty deliciousness, Ardbeg 10 Year Old is a favourite of many whisky lovers around the world. Produced on the Kildalton Coast of Islay, this single malt matures for a decade before being bottled without any chill-filtration. If you're after a whisky with full of coastal air, smoke and more, this is exactly what you want. On the palate you get sweet vanilla counterbalanced with lemon and lime followed by that surging Ardbeg smoke that we all know and love. The finish is long and glorious; sea salted caramel and beach bonfire smoke :-)
  11. Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey A rye whiskey in the Pennsylvania style, this carries a famous old Philadelphia name. Very tasty and aromatic. On the palate Rittenhouse is peppery with a hint of honey underneath and a slight touch of oranges as the spice fades, along with a hint of cola. The finish is long and smooth with nice cinnamon and rye notes.
  12. Hakushu Distillers Reserve - Japanese Single Malt Whisky A green and crunchy entry in the Hakushu Range, combining whisky of a wide variety of ages, from across the range of casks used by the distillery to create a gently smoky dram, packed with fruity flavour. On the palate loads of green things coming out of here! Mint, cucumber, green fruit, grapefruit and just a touch of smoke at the back. The finish is light, delicate, refreshing and with some subtle smoke. Again a perfect Japanese Whisky for the hotter days :-)
  13. Michter´s US*1 Bourbon - Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey The US*1 Bourbon from Michter's in Louisville, Kentucky, is made in small batches, typically comprised of no more than two dozen barrels. Top quality stuff, brimming with caramel, vanilla and fruit notes, alongside a pleasing earthy quality at its core. The Michter´s US*1 Bourbon is rich and spicy, with juicy fruit, cinnamon and clean, well-defined flavours. On the finish you get a welcoming kick of black pepper, then the dried fruit stays strong.
  14. Hendrick´s Gin This terrific Scottish gin is made using two different stills - the Bennett stillsteeps its botanicals overnight before distillation, while the Carter-Head has its botanicals in a basket up in the still neck, steaming them gently. You get fresh notes of cucumber with juniper, oak, a touch more citrus and vanilla. Creamy and savoury. The finish is long, refreshing and floral.
  15. Lagavulin 16Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky A single malt with the massive peat-smoke that's typical of southern Islay - but also offering richness and a dryness that turns it into a truly interesting tipple. The 16 year old has truly become a benchmark Islay dram from the Lagavulin distillery. On the palate it is very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and Sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a wonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak. The finish is Long, spicy, figs, dates, peat smoke and vanilla.
  16. Russell´s Reserve Single Barrel - Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Wild Turkey Russell's Reserve Single Barrel is a non-chillfiltered expression from this famous brand. A big, bold and warming whiskey that explodes on the palate. It matures in heavy "alligator" char new American oak barrels and is hand-selected by Master Distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell. Each honey barrel is then bottled at a hearty 110 proof without chill-filtration in order to preserve maximum flavor. On the palate, this is a flavorful, multilayered whiskey, with an initial hit of alcohol burn and a strong cinnamon and oak note giving way to vanilla, almond, toasted coconut, and mint before the cinnamon and baking spice notes return. The finish is long and enjoyable, with a distinct apple pie note followed by oak, baking spices and chocolate.
  17. Laphroaig 10Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky Laphroaig 10 is one of my favourite Singlemalt Scotch Whisky´s. I love its peaty character :-) It´s a full-bodied, smoky gem, with a residual sweetness and a hint of salt amid the seaweedy, peaty characters before a long warming finish. Really smoky and iodine rich. This has to be one of Scotland's most characterful drams. Laphroaig are known for their medicinal malts, and the classic 10 year old is no exception. On the palate you get seaweed-led, with a hint of vanilla ice cream and more than a whiff of notes from the first aid box. The oak is big, and muscles its way into the fore as you hold this whisky over your tongue. Spices develop (cardamom/black pepper/chilli).
