Maybe she found out her boyfriend was cheating?

Homophobic comments?

A 29 year old female American car driver was detained by Pattaya Police on Sunday afternoon following a 30 minute wrecking spree which saw her damage 13 vehicles and injure 2 people.

Police were forced to open fire on her car tires to bring her vehicle to a halt and after that were forced to smash her front passenger window after she refused to leave her vehicle.

The incident began in Soi Siam Country Club in East Pattaya where Miss Amanda was involved in a road crash with another vehicle. She refused to remain at the scene of the crash and sped off in the direction of North Pattaya and then reportedly drove against the flow of traffic back to South Pattaya, along the Sukhumvit Road, causing traffic chaos on an already busy day for traffic.

For 30 minutes she was pursued by Police and caused damage to 13 vehicles and injured two motorbike driver who were forced off their bikes by the crazy driver.

Eventually the White Toyota Innova and its driver were stopped and Miss Amanda was taken to Pattaya Police Station in handcuffs. She was in a distraught state and refused to answer questions from Police.

At the scene a crowd of angry onlookers and victims of the driver’s actions gathered. Some directed homophobic comments towards Miss Amanda and others attempted to assault her.

We understand she was given a hefty traffic fine and was then ordered to pay for all damages caused to vehicles and medical expenses for the two injured people. She later regretted her actions and claimed she panicked which is why she refused to stop for Police.

It must be terrifying to experience another vehicle speeding towards you against the traffic flow on a three lane highway.

Considering she's gotta pay for 13 damaged vehicles, lucky for her this happened in Thailand where car body repairs are ridiculous low cost compared to her country of origin.

In an incident which is now being described as something you would more commonly see in a “Fast & Furious” movie rather than on the streets of Pattaya, Police announced on Monday they have decided to charge the American driver involved in the bizarre car chase on Sunday which left 13 vehicles damaged and 2 people injured.

Toxicology tests have taken place on Miss Amanda aged 29 to ensure she was not under the influence of any substance at the time. Police have confirmed she was not under the influence of alcohol.

Miss Amanda, who came to Thailand 2 months ago and is reportedly working as a foreign language teacher in a local school, is known to reside in the Maprachan Reservoir area of East Pattaya and is currently on medication to control stress.

Full results of the toxicology tests will be received by Police in 2 to 3 days and Miss Amanda’s Insurance Company will be paying around 300,000 Baht in damages to the owners of the vehicles and the two injured individuals.

Police have now decided to charge Miss Amanda with reckless driving causing injury and she posted police bail of 1.5 Million Baht pending further Court proceedings.
