  1. A few more pics taken from Facebook page for the bar:-
  2. This is the current line up between the two bars (inside and the alco cart on Sukhumvit). as best I can ascertain from june, this is who is working where. They no longer flit between the bar and the cart so odds are most will be at the inside bar, rather than the cart. So from top row left;- Bee, Na, Wan, Ice, Honey, Coco, Kitty, Nat, Jar 2nd Row: Monica 3rd row:- Bua, Som, Sara, Chompoo, Pancake, Polli, Nana, May 4th row:- Toey, Nui, Aem, Nan?,Jiji, Jaja, Amy, Luk Tan (yes she is back, again) Girls in Black text, work INSIDE BAR. Girls in Red can work either bar but mostly OUTSIDE alco cart.
  3. Online marketing for a bar is a no brainer IMHO. Jai Dee already pointed out the exact example of that for the original Guess Bar. Jim has also pointed out some of the pitfalls in doing this kind of thing and it can often open up negativity for all manner of reasons. I think this is one of the main reasons, the bars are moving more onto social media although nobody should overlook forums, but their 'influence' in getting new customers is diminishing. Its diminishing as threads get cluttered and lets face it, most of the guys who have been around a while, already know of the venues. But where this comes across badly is if its a venue he does not like, for whatever reason. Obsession in Pattaya is a prime example - way too much negativity from folk who freely admit to never going there. What i do find amazing is how guys are glued to these threads though. Its almost like they have no other life and seem to be online continuously and to keep posting comments. Its just a picture of a girl working in a P4P bar. The forum activity has a tendancy to cause issues and allow opinionated posters a window to make sarcastic comments even on threads/venues they freely admit to never visiting. That is hysterical IMHO and again will be raising questions in owners minds as to what is the point of it all. Same question could also apply to forum owners and their eagerness to get involved or even too involved for the greater good. Its a fine balancing act but blanket updates everyday are frankly, overkill. A bar does not need it and the danger is that the bar is accused of hype by the very people who spend their life absorbing the updates. As I say, you could not make this stuff up - nobody would believe it. One thing that does make me laugh out loud is people saying the "hype" did not match the experience. I have no idea what they expect from this. I swear some guys are so taken in with this stuff, they expect the exact same thing to be happening in the bar at the very moment they walk in. Kind of like, a picture gets taken of girls all on a pool table. The guy has an expectation when he walks in, that the girls are really sat on the pool table seductively waiting for him to walk in. But does it work for the bar benefit? Yes and no. aside from this above, I have been asked to slow right down on CIB updates. June is now getting hacked off at the sponsors who keep sponsoring the girls out after seeing their pics and then facebooking them etc etc. Again, its almost make believe how seriously some people take this. Forget blogs as well - while being done with the right intent to entertain and communicate with the community at large, you just get the usual suspects bitching on and on. The same guys who are glued 24/7 desperate for new content, or at least content they feel is what they want to read. Unfortunately, for many, they cannot seem just to skip over things/places they do not like/frequent. Maybe its as much a jealousy issue in so far, as when great nights are talked about (by the people who were there), you get some poster sat back somewhere in Farangland trying to rubbish it. same with big check bins and bell ringing - people seem to resent other guys being able to do it. For all they know, this guy may have saved up the whole year to have one blowout 2 week holiday. But no, he is online ridiculed as a mug for ringing the bell. His money, his choice is my simple view. But lets never forget, all the updates can do, is to encourage a visit to the bar. its then down to the girls within the bar, as to the chances of that customer staying/returning based on how they find the place. But for the forums - perhaps they should be asking themselves why posters stop posting and also why bars have mostly given up. And what are they planning to do about it? I see all the forums are dropping in terms of content and replies. Many posters who have neutral opinions have basically just given up and let the online bullies rule the roost, although that may reflect other forum and not specifically this one. I can think of half a dozen expats alone in BKK who no longer post. To me this is water of a ducks back and I will happily give as good as i get but for many its just falls in the too hard basket as they realise its just an internet forum talking about guys wearing a skirt and makeup.
  4. Where is it? Walk into soi 7 and about 10m on your left, a small lane leads to the entrance of a new hotel. Check in has an entrance to the bar from this (small) lobby. EDIT: Check In Bar is now on Soi 10. The main access is via the 'tunnel' which is well known by many BKK regulars and is walkway between Soi 5 and Soi 7. If coming from soi 7 into the tunnel, the bar is first on your left just past some dining tables from a street cart. If coming from Soi 5 end, its the last bar on the right hand side.
  5. With the move to a new location, probably better to kick off a new thread with the pictures from the opening party night. The Boss The Bar - outside
  6. The outside terrace with its own pool table and air conditioned breeze from the open bar.
  7. The inside pool table with May showing off her legs.
  8. The 'cosy corner' quietly situated at the far end of the bar. Funny enough, located just by the rear entrance which leads to a 24 room ST hotel. That is the discrete box ticked off.
  9. Looking like everything is all set for the opening party this Friday 4th April. The current small bar will be closing tomorrow night the 3rd and no doubt a few guys will be enjoying their last tipple in the alcove bar. Best news of all is that the 30 hot girls will be serving cold 100b beer. That is a bargain in Bangkok in a venue with that many girls.
  10. Two units down from the room that officials ignore......
  11. I remember thinking just the same thing when I renewed my passport last year. As in, I could have been anybody sending in the application as you do not need to send the original passport (unique for thailand) and nor are there essentially any checks that you are who you say you are, other than that passport or copy thereof. Inconvenient for sure, but should not come as a surprise.
  12. The pool tables are in now via a Facebook update Rapidly moving to be ready to open come 4th April.
  13. Now its about 6pm till silly o'clock or roughly 3-4am. when the new bigger bar opens, its been mooted as 18 hours a day from midday until 6am. however probably best to wait and see how that idea pan's out. June actually said it will be 24/7 but i take that with a pinch of salt myself.
  14. Temptations has a good line up at the moment and the 100b beers are always welcome.
  15. Yes you can. In the menu are even pictures of how they define it. I had medium and was slightly bloody. My GF (who had the ribeye) always wants it well done and it was perfectly done. Never noticed a Santa Fe at Big C Extra but will have to pay more attention next time as i am there once a week picking stuff up in Home Pro.
  16. Santa Fe steakhouse within, Big C, South Pattaya 200 gram New Zealand Rib Eye beef steak set with bowl of soup + ceasar salad - 250b or thereabouts. 300 gram Australian T-Bone steak set, 300b or thereabouts Soda 39b on top but its some dodgy no name Coke copy. Quality of the imported beef was excellent. Soup was OK and salad had way too much dressing, but other than that, quite OK and would be happy to eat there again. Seems like a chain/franchise so there may well be others dotted around. For the quality of the beef, it really is unbelievable value for money. Total bill for the two of us who had each of the above was 600 odd baht.
  17. aircon is in. Door and window's are in. Moving on pretty well.
  18. It was a dance competition between Goldfingers and Guess Bar. Jenny set the stage alight with her bucket of water trick and with one move had all the judges sold. DK and monkeyman were 2 of the judges. Cannot remember who else. The return match was at GB and was an interbar pool tournament. I think they followed with one or two dance competitions where anyone could enter but cannot remember any details about them.
  19. The question was where was the original location, not where it moved too.
  20. Close, but not exactly correct. If you walk down soi 7 from 2nd Road toward the beach, Didi used to be on left hand side approx 100m from 2nd Road. It was one of maybe 6 quite large bar beers. it got bulldozed down and now that land forms part of a large hotel.
  21. apparently the passports were not used as a 'vehicle' to leave thailand on. does raise the question in my mind about why a ticket got purchased in Thailand with a Malaysia start of the journey. The far is quite low and would likely be an ex-Thailand fare. However that does not seem to be info in the public domain. Maybe they are trying to work on leads. But as ken said - 'stolen' passports are big business. Even bigger business is just selling your own for 15,000-30,000b cash. damn, where did i put my passport......
  22. Last few times I went into Kings Bar it was jam packed with LB's - but it was past 9pm. They do have some GG's but come later evening it is mostly LB's.
  23. Some Facebook photo showing progress of the fit out.
  24. I think Darkside, Check in are both at 100b for beer. No idea what Guess is now, but 15 months ago it was about 125-135b from memory. Obsession & Cascade both at 155b. Casanova was 120b but i have a feeling they upped it to 140b when all the rents increased.
