Sorry mate, you know I'm a school boy again these days, and have to keep up with my studies. Plus the mamasan has the right of first refusal -- or whatever the jargon was back when I used to get paid to do this sort of thing -- prior to publication. In the first of Kendo's photos on the right is Rabbit; she's a sweetheart. That's also here on the left in the last photo. The second photo is Ice; she's relatively new in the bar, about a month or so, she says. She's also lovely and lovely to talk to; her English is relatively excellent, reflecting her time majoring in marketing at university. As others have noted, it's a great place to either get up to naughtiness or just hang out. Also if you want to review your Thai language lessons; Frankie and Ice will make sure you get it right.

The spiral staircase leads to what will be Annie's room; Annie, for those of you don't know, is Nok's cousin and has been helping run the bar/de facto assistant mamasan/caretaker for some time now. Like Nok she's a veteran of the Family chain of bars up Naklua way and an awesome person. And as for Ms. Wil, I actually stood next to her yesterday while we were both in bare feet ... *cough* ... and she is actually about an inch or so shorter than me, so that puts her around 5'8" or 5'9" -- 1.72 to 1.73 meters, let's say. Of course she loves those ginormous crazy high heels while on the clock. Just took individual staff photos on behalf of Nok, incidentally. Will be posting those here and on the Facebook page in the coming week. ...

Interesting point, Pacman, and it sounds like an interesting film. On the other hand, Cindy has been known to go off like an exploding volcano, as I recall.

I believe BB is correct, Lanny is a freelancer -- she was in there last weekend, as a matter of fact -- but I'll try and remember to ask and get the scoop directly from Nok. As for Wil, she is a tall one, yes, but don't let that stop you, if you haven't seen her in the flesh yet; she's actually very feminine looking and acting. She's not a glamazon, in spite of her height; she wouldn't fit in very well at Casanova or Hi Boss, is what I'm trying to say.

I'll add my concurrence with the above on the subject of Linda Bar's table and chairs. Having said that, aside from that I like what they've done with the place. However I imagine that Linda Bar's crew would be amenable to putting in a table for those of us that like to chill there, as opposed to the stealthy that like to hit and run lest someone spy them talking to a ladyboy in public. Next time I'm down there -- say this weekend, ha! -- I'll pop in and enquire.

BTW, for those of you considering a first-time excursion, Jings Guesthouse is right next store to Caddyshack, and is lb/guest friendly (at least it was several years ago; I would assume it still is). It's not the Hilton, but comfortable enough -- basic and clean. I'm sure someone on here probably has more current data, though ...

Just catching up with this; this is great news, Ciobha! (and Rossco). Nokky and I had a long talk about this the last night I was in town last month (as you may recall); I'm relieved to hear things have worked out. Pussy. You know I'll stay there. As discussed previously, I should just cut out the middle man, so to speak. I shudder to think of the nights (er, days, rather) I didn't use my hotel room other than for storage of my suitcases, this last trip, while "sleeping" in La Bamba. Of course with 24-hour pizza across the street *and* Thai food (not to mention the eponymous restaurant), with Starbucks at the end of the soi, I'll probably never get out of Soi Yamato now. When I get down there in a few weeks, I'm telling her you said that. Even though you're back home, you'll probably want to duck.

Ice is indeed a cute noob, and Lanny was there just a couple of nights ago.

Had the pleasure of meeting Monsieur Fatcat the other night in La Bamba; he's a good bloke, if I'm any judge -- sorry I won't be up for the party, but I'll definitely be swinging by often once I get settled in Bangers in the coming months. ...
