  1. We're talking morlam as in an outdoor concert of Isaan style of music, yeah? Or am I just exposing my ignorance?
  2. Cool, glad I could help you out, BB. After all, I still owe you big for turning me onto Hua Hin, in addition to all the other great trip reports and photos over the years. Yes, Opera is awesome. It's user interface has always been light years ahead of everything else; it was the first to use tabs, for example. And yeah, it tends to be faster than everyone else too when it comes to rendering pages. Trouble is, it is is 100 percent standards compliant, where IE, Firefox, et al, are not, to varying degrees. So a page optimized for IE can look effed up in Opera (making web development with Opera a true double-edged sword). Okay, I'm done being a nerd. Let's carry on with the ladyboys and whatnot (actually I'll be doing a lot of carrying on with ladyboys next week ... ).
  3. Got any naked pics and contact info? I keed, I keed. Just had to post that before someone else did. Seriously, this is a cool thing to see. One of the things that bugs me about people's perceptions of Thailand (who have never been there) is that there is little to no prejudice against transgendered people in general, and ladyboys in particular (I'm sure we've all read something similar in Lonely Planet, et al). But as anyone who has ever lived there knows, while there is certainly much less prejudice/more tolerance than in many other countries, being transgendered can still present many difficulties that non-transgendered Thais wouldn't face -- Thailand isn't quite the open-minded paradise that many guidebooks would have us believe (but then they are in the business of selling guidebooks). Case in point: the writer felt it necessary to add the qualifier "beautiful" in the lead graph ... ouch. A bit pedantic of me, perhaps, but language is a subtly powerful thing. Anyway, thanks for posting Rx. And good luck to her.
  4. Looks like you are using Opera, BB (good man -- it's my browser of choice as well). Hotmail is always problematic in Opera, in my experience. Have you tried going under site preferences, while on the Hotmail page, and under the nextwork tab telling Opera to mask itself as Firefox? And make sure "use proxy" and "application cache" are turned off (set to no). That's what I have to do to get Hotmail and Opera to get along. Apologies if I'm telling you stuff you already know ...
  5. I see on the Famous Facebook page that Keta (aka Guitar/Kitar) is now a little top heavy, as in ( + )( + ) -- here's to hoping she has a speedy recovery. And here's to hoping she's all recovered by oh, I dunno, say the middle of next week ...
  6. Lulz, Pdogg, you talking about them practicing volleyball or what oine experiences walking down 6/1 in the late afternoon? And yes, BB, thanks for dusting off those cracking photos. Oa always cracks me up; subtlety is simply not in her repertoire.
  7. Once again, thanks for the help all. Mademoiselle Sonya, being the classy dame she is, agreed to buy the tickets provided I would pay her back once I got into town; I don't even have to be arsed to wire her the money in advance (so her low season must not be too low, heh heh). Rxpharm, you are on top of things; we'd all be lost without you. :D Again, if anyone attending wants to meet up before or after for drinks, let me know. -4:17 P.S. While we're at it, here she is with some of the local Tiffany girls from last October ... (she's the one without feathers)
  8. Wow, thanks for the quick replies, BB, Rxpharm, Swede LOL, good one BB. Too true, Too true. I'll actually be taking Sonya to the show if we go, so won't be on the prowl that night -- although I'm sure there will be some stunners; there are quite a few lookers at the regular Tiffany show. On the other hand, I will be reconnoitering for future reference, as always (and Sonya knows I'm a butterfly man). Anyone ever use that www.thaiticketmajor.com site before? Looks a little dicey (login page isn't secure; much of it is in Thai even on the English version, etc.). I suppose I could just ask Sonya to front the money and pay her when I get there (I'll be paying her something the next day regardless, heh, but willingly and happily), but 3,000 baht might be a bit much to ask in low season. Anyway, again, thanks for the help. Anyone else planning to go? We could have a little forum meet up before or after for drinks, if anyone's interested. -4:17
  9. Hi All, Anybody have any idea about getting tickets for this? I know you can reserve tickets for the regular Tiffany show online, but there doesn't seem to be anything on that site or MissTiffanyUniverse.com about reserving/buying tickets for the Miss Tiffany Universe show May 4. My ladyboy pal Sonya -- and Teppis' -- thinks we'll have to get tickets in advance for this show if I want to go (which is what I figured); that's why I'm asking. I'll be in town the afternoon of April 30th; think that would be far enough in advance to make reservatios in person? Anyone know if they have a will-call system? That way I could just have Sonya make the reservations and then I could pick up the tix the day of the show. Thanks ... -4:17
  10. So that's what happened! I've been a lurker for some years, as some of you know, only bothering to post on LB-69 when I figured it was time to return the favor of much useful information gleaned over the years -- hence my first trip report last year. Had I known how much fun it was to post a TR, I would have been on it years ago when I first got to LOS. I first started perusing TLB forums when it was still part of ATS back in the day, about the time when my usual porn trolling for shemales turned up this ridiculously hot ladyboy, Areeya. You've maybe heard of her? Anyway, I used to log in and peruse a bit, gathering whatever background/info I needed, then I'd be off again for awhile, gradually discovering the other forums. I remember walking into Cascades for the first time, several years ago now, acting like I owned the place and that I walked in everyday, no big deal. I pulled it off because I knew the drill, thanks to the forums. When the TLB forums imploded, I never did really understand exactly what happened until now. I pieced together some info from threads on other forums, but always wondered; after all TLF was the "it" forum there for awhile -- planning a trip down to BKK? It was a must read. Anyway, well-played, Jai-Dee. This is a great thread; very interesing. A piece of Internet history. And I owe you as much as anyone for the valuable info I've gleaned over the years; hope the positive karma rubs off and comes back to you. And should our paths ever cross in person, I'll by you a bottle of your favorite flavor of karma. - 4:17
