I agree with PDogg, this is looking like a major event! One that i will be proud to be a part of. And i'm very glad Rossco will have some help from thpon and others, hopefully. Organising an event on this scale will be an extraordinary feat, and desrves the full support of all LB lovers, even if they can't attend. And all for a good cause - amazing! Looks like my visa run to the uk will have to be rescheduled for september, but all in a good cause. Oh, and i will be driving the bus from Phuket ! Well, you've gotta have some perks to this job, right?

I've been giving this thread some thought over the last few days, and have finally decided to commit if: 1) The redoubtable Rossco is willing to take on the enormous organisational task; 2) The date is october. Any other time is unsuitable because of High season, or dodgy weather 3) I can get some help from some of our wonderful customers to help a little with the logistics of getting 6 LBs over to, and accomodated in, P*****a In other words C & Ds will be there!

Thais just dont do 'quiet' - its the same with their fookin tvs. They watch their absurd soap operas at ear-shattering volumes, with no concern for their neighbours. Music volume is a constant battle i have at C & Ds - i give way during the cabaret because i understand the dancers need to get 'into' the song, but for the rest of the time its a battle of wits - me versus the dj. I swear he turns it up again when i go for a pee. And, back to Pattaya, i've NEVER heard music played so loud as those arab bars at the back of walking street. How can anybody sit through that, ffs!

An interesting question there, farangbah. One of my first tasks when i arrived 4+ years ago, was to strip out some of the costs. Amongst those was a heavy cabaret wages bill and an 8,000Bt per month clothing allowance. I was expecting a battle with NingNong about these things, but when i showed her the first month's accounts, and explained how we needed to trim out the overheads if we were to survive my first Low Season, she understood immediately and, to her great credit, cooperated with my request. To this day, we pay NO allowance for the costumes. Mean i know, and (shh) we could afford it now, but with a combination of some off-site cabaret work, borrowing, mending, making, and adapting, they somehow manage to keep the costumes fresh and new-looking.
