This brings to mind a discussion on PY where some suggested avoiding credit cards to save money while traveling, advocating for cash-only transactions in Thailand. This seemed like a ploy to exploit travelers, as carrying cash for transactions often results in overspending. One Aussie BM even shared how his sister used to lure foreigners into hotel rooms, then discreetly pilfer their cash while they were occupied in the shower.
