  1. Bulleit Bourbon - Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Enjoy Bulleit Bourbon like the Americans do! Previously it has been bottled at 40% abv for the UK market, but now you can get the Frontier Whiskey at 45% abv, just like they have in Kentucky. A stunning bourbon that won a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2012. On the palate you get a good spicy kick of rye, then softer notes of dried fruit and sweet spice follow. Toasty and nutty, with enough fruitiness to soften out the edges. This Whiskey you can enjoy neat, on the rocks or with a mixer but i recommend to drink it neat to get the full tasty flavour :-)
  2. Buffalo Trace - Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Buffalo Trace is the flagship bourbon for the eponymous distillery made from corn, rye and malted barley. It’s aged in new oak barrels in historic old warehouses. The award-winning bourbon is batched from no more than 40 barrels at a time, and is aged on the middle floors of the distillery warehouses where the temperature fluctuation is the greatest. A top whiskey, with oodles of vanilla, barrel char and spicy complexity.
  3. Plantation XO - Rum The Plantation XO from Barbados, aged in bourbon barrels before being shipped to France for a secondary maturation in Cognac casks from the Ferrand house. The result is a well balanced rum with a remarkably long finish, with a palate of chocolate, banana, coconut and mango. The finish is very long lasting, with the sweet spices complementing the toasty oak and fruit.
  4. Cragganmore 12Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky This is the Speyside representative of the Classic Malts series and is rich and spicy, with a very satisfying complexity. On the palate you get fresh citrus notes, joined by sweet toffee, malt and oat biscuits. Very clean and refreshing (perfect for the weather in Thailand).
  5. Michter´s Unblended American Whiskey Very fruity and sweet, this whiskey from Michter's positively drips with toffee and butterscotch, enlivened by toasty notes and a hint of vanilla and dried fruit. Technically not a bourbon due to its ageing in 'bourbon-soaked' barrels as opposed to new oak. This is one of the sweetest Whiskey´s at Delirious Bar and is very easy drinking :-)
  6. Glenfarclas 12Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky The Glenfarclas 12Y is a delicious single malt from Speyside's Glenfarclas distillery, aged for 12 years before making its way into the bottles. Dig in to rich Sherried malt and earthy allspice notes. The taste is Medium-bodied, with notes of date and walnut cake, Oloroso sherry and hints of earthy forest floor. A beautiful note of malt, with toffee apple and a touch of smoke :-)
  7. Plantation O.F.T.D Overproof (69% ABV) - Rum The Plantation Overproof is a high-strength blend of rums from Barbados, Guyana and Jamaica. O.F.T.D stands for Old Fashioned Traditional Dark It is rich and warming with notes of spice, coffee, orange and clove. This rum is good for mixed Drinks and also good to drink with an ice cube :-)
  8. Dalwhinnie 15 Years - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky Dalwhinnie 15yo is a good introduction to the delights of single malt whisky – elegant, smooth and medium-bodied, with a light, fruity palate and a whiff of heather on the finish. The nose on this malt is clean and fresh, with heather honey, pears, a touch of Toffee and a soft floral note. The taste is bright and fruity, but also rich, with notes of steamed syrup and sponge cake, with a Little cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish has just enough spice to match the fruit. A lovely Balance :-)
  9. Hibiki Japanese Harmony - Japanese Whisky Hibiki Japanese Harmony is a blend of Japanese malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. Presented in the brand's trademark 24-faceted bottle representing the Japanese seasons, this is light, approachable and moreish with enticing notes of orange peel and white chocolate. The taste is very fruity with oranges and apricots. Also a Little peppery spice, but the soft, succulent fruit takes hold. Nice balance, and nicely crafted.
  10. Maker´s 46 - Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey Maker's 46 is named for the number of different wood 'recipes' they tried before getting it right. Bottled at 47% it is matured in part in barrels containing a 'ladder' of toasted new French oak barrel staves to give more spice, sweetness and vanilla. The taste is creamy and very soft. Then it opens up, in fact it explodes with spiciness which concentrates on the tip of the tongue. It’s on nutmeg, mulled wine spices, allspice, cinnamon. Also a hint of hot apple juice.
  11. Yamazaki Distillers Reserve - Japanese Singlemalt A fresh and fruity whisky from Yamazaki, full of red fruit and a touch of sherry cask. It's also got some mizunara (Japanese oak) matured whisky in the mix, which comes through as a complex spicy and almost incense-like note. A well put together and deep dram. On the palate you get an abundance of red fruit again, with raspberries, strawberries and even redcurrants coming through. White peach, a hint of wood and spice, back-up notes of red cherries and candied fruits all come into play here as well. The finish is long with vanilla and sweet spice :-)
  12. Today´s Whiskey Update: Russell´s Reserve Single Barrel - Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Wild Turkey Russell's Reserve Single Barrel is a non-chillfiltered expression from this famous brand. A big, bold and warming whiskey that explodes on the palate. It matures in heavy "alligator" char new American oak barrels and is hand-selected by Master Distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell. Each honey barrel is then bottled at a hearty 110 proof without chill-filtration in order to preserve maximum flavor. On the palate, this is a flavorful, multilayered whiskey, with an initial hit of alcohol burn and a strong cinnamon and oak note giving way to vanilla, almond, toasted coconut, and mint before the cinnamon and baking spice notes return. The finish is long and enjoyable, with a distinct apple pie note followed by oak, baking spices and chocolate. After a couple of Russell´s Reserve you can enjoy this couple :-P
  13. dont force me to post my homemade german meatloaf. Its brilliant and you would love it :-P
  14. Today´s Whisky Update: Laphroaig 10Y - Singlemalt Scotch Whisky Laphroaig 10 is one of my favourite Singlemalt Scotch Whisky´s. I love its peaty character :-) It´s a full-bodied, smoky gem, with a residual sweetness and a hint of salt amid the seaweedy, peaty characters before a long warming finish. Really smoky and iodine rich. This has to be one of Scotland's most characterful drams. Laphroaig are known for their medicinal malts, and the classic 10 year old is no exception. On the palate you get seaweed-led, with a hint of vanilla ice cream and more than a whiff of notes from the first aid box. The oak is big, and muscles its way into the fore as you hold this whisky over your tongue. Spices develop (cardamom/black pepper/chilli). Yesterday my friend Peterbilt visited me to pick up his suitcase (i brought it over from Thailand) and he gave me a very nice present :-) A Laphroaig 10Y Edition with chocolate Whisky truffels and Laphroaig tasting glasses. Thank you very much for the present and i hope we see us next month for a whisky tasting and barbeque :-)
