  1. Was a pleasant time catching up with Emmy, Teya and the girls on my trip. Like old times. John and Roger turned up which was good. I took along Dao as she had not seen Emmy for some time. A good night and one I am glad I made happen.

    Teya was pleasant company too!

  2. Dont really know why I am quoting prices as most of my jollies were with lb's I have known and did not charge as a normal transaction. From what I saw and heard, barfines were around 400-600. Beer 85 to 100. LD's up to 150. ST was around 1300 and LT around 2-2500.

I can tell you right now that the lb's are not rolling in the hay. A bit slow is the word around town. Probably some bargains to be had unless the Thai logic kicks in and the girls want to charge more when times are tough!.

There are a few lb at cib who will scratch your eyes out , throw you shade on the street , walk all over you , i never took it personally so i dont get it , anyway i do not go there anymore , i will just upload several pics and the mod can choose to change when he wants :)

I am not aware of any that would scratch your eyes out, but then again I have not conversed with all of them. Maybe a majority, but thats all. Too busy buying drinks!.

I shared with him my VN ladyboys directory with pages giving operational advises. I placed an add in a Vietnamese forum. A couple of VN ladyboys answered. One of them met his criteria perfectly. Then he didn't keep me informed of his decision.
Afterward hes just posted VN bashing (negative comments that HCMC don't deserve).

Above all, he made me lose face with one of my best contacts in HCMC. I have the right to be ironic when someone makes me bear the consequences of their lack of decision-making.

If you mean getting scammed by taxis as VN bashing. If warnings come from the hotel that I had booked and also the guy I shared the the taxi with well so be it. That was all I stated. Sorry if I did not follow up on the contacts you provided. My short stay did not allow much exploration. The hotel was fine as was its location.

I think you might be referring to a different BM.  As I recall it wasn't roger he commented on, but was more apposed one of the girls.  As for ben afflect vs roger, I'll take roger all day long.  As for the best bond, he is not in my top 2.

There may have been a BM that complained about roger, but I don't recall that comment.

It was me, it was me!. Nothng wrong with Roger. It was the poser Rose who got my hackles up. Thank goodness she is no longer at CIB.

You enjoy the challenge of being an explorer.  But I think many mongers just want easy access to the sex that they desire.  So the Thai bar system works well for them.

When travelling somewhere new there is a learning curve and even the most streetwise monger who has done a fair degree of research needs time to get up to speed in a new country or even a new city.

Couldn't agree more Pdogg. I think you would need at least a week there to get your bearings. Mine was a very short visit, prompted by the cheapish airfare and the chance to visit another country. Having a good knowledge of how Thailand works it is a different world in Vietnam, or seems to be.

    A bit short for a TR , isn't it ?
Regarding the night you spent in HCMC, I don't know anyone who managed to fully experience the city in just one night. Even with the information I provided, it's not sufficient to grasp the essential details and fundamentals. I'm not convinced that you even read through the crucial information I shared.

     985032443_KimJongOne.gif.d6c15d92c85ed4144eda3916039c54ef.gif

This serves as an illustration of what is likely to occur in the future. While there will be opportunities to find ladyboys in various Asian countries, punters who do not put in the effort or hope to stumble upon them effortlessly from the confines of a bar will only waste their time and return empty-handed.

I did not think that I had specified that it was a TR?.

Only a brief remark re HCMC after the very short time I was there. The short time was as a result of me stuffing up the visa. Did not realize that I needed one!!!!. This led to a nervous few hours in BKK airport while one was produced. A great way for them to promote tourism and generate extra revenue. One could question why you needed one for a short visit. I ran into a young couple in the airport who had committed the same transgression. We had a laugh about it.

I do thank you for your info that you supplied before my trip but after my very short visit I don't think I will be returning. Not many people like to get scammed by taxis etc.. I was fortunate enough to run into an English guy in the airport who had lived there and was returning for a short visit. We shared the taxi and all was good as he related a few stories about living in HCMC. Thank goodness for that!.

I must say that the young guy at the hotel was fantastic. Full of info and the room although very small was adequate with the best bed I had slept in on my trip. Thai hotels take note!. Hey, I also liked the beer called Tiger Crystal. Very good.

  8. Have just returned from Thailand and stopped for only one night in HCMC Vietnam on the way home. Glad it was only one night. Not a lot going on in that city. I saw one lb on that night. She had just hopped onto her motorbike. We exchanged looks and then she was off. Too manly for me anyway.

As far as Thailand goes, I would say very few lb's are making heaps. It is low season right now and they are struggling. The falangs are not out in force, nor are the Indians etc..

I think there was a bit of Thai logic going on, ie when times are tough put up the prices. They seem to think that does the trick. Funny that.

In the lb bars I went to there was never more than about 4 or 5 punters and they did not hang around for long. The popular lb's make a bit but the others struggle. Unless the less popular lb's give up the battle and go home, thereby creating a supply and demand situation, prices will not go up. In Pattaya the going price seemed to be around 1300 -1500baht, and in BKK around 1600-2000, maybe a bit more for the hot ones.

Be interesting to see what happens after Sept/October.

Unless there is a sudden change, I cant see things being different anytime soon.

The Bud Lite drama goes on with more share being lost to the parent company , blue cans are a No no other parent brands are being targeted and gay clubs stop serving it as they put both employees on leave and pulled it , but did not say sorry so the other crowd is also upset , they cannot win here

all could be avoided if they just hired a cute ladyboy and not some person on a girlhood experience .....

Did you have a license to shoot fish........lol

No, but a funny aside to that. In Rotorua there is a tourist spot that has trout pools. A guy I worked with went there and when no one was looking stabbed a rainbow trout with his umbrella tip. Brought it back with him and I cooked it!.

Vee (Lucas' girlfriend) passed away.  RIP and sincere condolences.

    Yes, very sad

I had not watched his videos for some time. Not my cup of tea. But to hear of his girl passing away really hurt. Her path to the end was similar to Stoolpusher,(Brett), but a lot longer. Cancer is just a vicious disease and liver cancer is one of the really bad ones.

As I was a long distance from Bretts last few days, it was sort of a remote feeling but none the less hurt just the same. Cobber 32 went through the process from a much closer distance which must have been even harder for him.

Sometimes you just have to pause and be thankful that we are in the main, healthy and not going through what these people have done. Even though Brett's passing was some 19 months ago I am sure that when Cobber 32 and I meet again in a few weeks that we will remember Brett with a few drinks.

I have said it before and will say it again. Brett's passing affected me like few others have.

No buckets of water thrown in the face of people driving motorbikes.

I have only been there during one Songkran. I thought it was ok apart from 1 lb who kept throwing large buckets of water at motorcyclists from about 2 meters. Nearly bowled a couple over. The lb was so drunk I could not make her see sense. They also kept pushing each other into a plastic pool with about 4 inches of water in it. Could have cracked their heads open.

A photo of the day. This was at the place that used to be called Back packers something on Soi Bukhao, opposite the Hospital. My gf at the time is in the leopard skin dress

I to hunted in my younger days.  But now, if I want a deer, I just drive 55 mph, with brights on, horn and radio blasting.

Where I used to go there is no way you get there by car. Well not close anyway. We used to drive on the forestry tracks, through streams etc., park the car, get our gear, guns , tent etc and start walking. Probably about an hours walk and pitch camp. Now this is in the Whirinaki. A large tract of pristine bush between Rotorua and Hawkes Bay in NZ. In those days still a lot of deer despite helicopter hunters as the bush was very dense. (like me really). The bush was untouched, the streams just crystal clear. So clear that I found a good sized trout in a pool. Tried to shoot it, but trying to do that with the parallax is nearly impossible.

I think you are referring to what many of us call the Jomtien Bus.  It is running and I've taken it numerous times recently .  I think that the 21:00 bus goes to the Pattaya North Bus Station instead of the Jomtien Bus Station.   It's a great deal.  You can buy a ticket at the airport but there is a good chance the next bus will be sold out so you might want to book online and it's not that big of deal if you miss it given the 143 baht price.

    =======================

The Bell Bus is a different animal and can only be booked online.  No tickets are available at the airport. At the Pattaya North Bus Station you get shifted to a van that brings you to your hotel.

    =================================

Which is better?  Depends where you are staying and whether or not you have an active Sim card with a data plan.

If you are staying in Jomtien you take a baht bus for 10 baht on the main road.

If you are staying in Pattaya you cross the main road and take the bus for 10 baht to Pattaya. This is convenient for hotels close to 2nd Road.

If you have an active Sim card and a data plan then use the Bolt app and a Bolt car will run you from around 40-100 baht depending where you are staying.

Things must have changed. Pre covid if I got the bus to Pattaya North there seemed to be no way of getting to my hotel. Well nothing that was sign posted etc. I ended up stopping a baht bus going past and telling the driver that I would hire the whole bloody thing and don't stop for anyone else. Seemed a crazy setup

Don't tell Woody, how many guns were sold, for this one event.

Good try, but did not work. With your gun mentality you may not realize that they squirt water:character00292:

As I have mentioned before, I did own a gun in my younger days to go deer shooting. Now I have trouble killing a fly. Some people develop, others dont.

Got rid of the gun when I stopped the habit of shooting things.

I find that where I live there is no need for self protection. Well not with a gun anyway.

Blackpink is just one of many acts at Coachella and I would think they are not typical.  But I really don't know as I'm out of touch.  How well do they sing?  Good enough I suppose.  Not nearly as important as their sex appeal and dancing.  Probably most important is whoever is creative force and of curse the marketing.

I believe these KPop outfits groom the girls from their early teens teaching them whatever is needed to be successful.   I think dozens of girls are under contract and there is a winnowing out process.  My guess is if these four girls were not chosen and instead four other girls were in Blackpink with the same music, choreography and hype they would be equally successful.  This is quite different from the Woodstock bands but perhaps more similar to the girl bands of the early 60's in which the producer was more important than the girls.

I would think that some of the acts at Coachella must be fairly decent.  Could a whole generation just like crap?

Sorry , are you talking about "the" Woodstock. Probably the best ever gathering of bands ever!

Will never see another event like that. Think of the quality of the electrical and sound equipment then compared to now. No huge screens etc. Just great music from great bands. To me headlined by Jimmy Hendrix who appeared last. Was never a follower of his until then.

Joe Cocker, Santana Jefferson Airplane , the Who, and even surprised myself by liking Joan Baez. Nothing like it will ever happen again. The nearest being Live Aid.
