There are other procedures they can do such as a 'dorsal slit' but these seem to come with their own problems which make them less then ideal.

As for the operation, I've done more reading and am of the opinion that while 9 weeks is probably enough time for the initial healing process but it would still be prone to complications if I was over-using it so I've decided to postpone the date until after my upcoming trip.

Well phimosis is a good reason to consider the procedure and undoubtedly will make a difference. May I ask how old you are and how quickly you usually heal after cutting yourself?

Yes, I'm 43. As for healing, not sure to be honest as it's a good few years since I had any serious cut.

Thanks to all for the good wishes and yes, I'm aware it will be painful for a while but as long as it doesn't have a long term affect on my sex life then that's OK.

Just wondering if any forum members have been circumcised as adults and if so how long was it before you were able to have sex again? Also is sex now as enjoyable as before?

I do sympathise for the ones who genuinely want a relationship but from our point of view they are far more girls who may claim they are but are simply playing the game. Regarding RENT - they've made a film out of it, faithful to the Broadway production and using most of the original cast. I meant you should rent or download the video of the film and watch it - a big part of the attraction is the dance/choreography and sets.

OK, an update.

I really enjoyed Rent. Sure the story was a bit weak and if I watched it again I would certainly skip over the whole protest / cow mooing sequence by Maureen but apart from that it was very good. Most of the songs were well written and the vocal performances (especially the slightly grittier, rocky ones) were excellent. Apart from Maureen the characters were likeable and Mimi was hot. Hell, Angel would have gotten one after a beer or two!

So yes, what probably made it for me was the style and quality of both the songs and vocals.

As for Wicked .. well I gave it a listen and to be honest I don't think it's my thing. Maybe it's due to the music and singing both being done in a classic musical style or it could be the subject matter. I think I'm more drawn to a more contemporary and edgy sound most of the time.

Anyway, thanks for the recommendations and I'm certainly open for more suggestions.

Ok, here's your assignment then: go rent or download the theatrical version of "Rent". It should be a good starter for you on the next phase of your enlightenment. Think you'll really enjoy it.

If that's a winner then purchase the soundtrack to "Wicked" and give it a serious listen. Don't give up on first listen, but give it some time (at least 4-5 listens) and see if you aren't a fan.
